Bobby Thompson was the first professional strongman I met, and he set the precedent of “gentle giant” for sure. I just called out as he walked by that he’s number 1, ad he came back to me to shake my hand, chat for a minute, crack a joke and carry on with his work. It’s been awesome seeing his transformation over the years!

I don't see Bobby on the podium(Mitch, Tom, Martins or Thor and then Evan) this time but I welcome him proving me wrong. He looks healthy and strong! I would love to see him break the American deadlift record.

I remember when Bobby was just coming on the scene and was on the outside looking in, in terms of the upper echelon of strongman.
It's been a pleasure to watch him progress to where he is today. Big fan.
    Great content as always, Loz.

I remember first seeing Bobby at the arnolds during covid. Lighter color hair with glasses. And how much he progressed during those times and once again competing against thor which will be exciting
Really can't wait for this arnolds.

Strongman has such an incredible Pro scene. The very top guys all are nice and humble monsters, I enjoy any of them to be successful. Bobby to me is the silent underdog, he's never really the spotlight guy and that's why I love when he scores big.

This is the most preposterously stacked Arnold's lineup ever. Maybe the most of any comp ever. Five WSM winners. Mateusz is a multiple time runner up and has the world record in one event. Bobby and Maxime have both podium'd at WSM. Evan averaged about third place in every major comp last year. It's so impossible to make predictions.

It's interesting to hear bobby talking about the loss of weight leading to him being pushed around by the implements more, even if he's still very strong. I'm a pretty small guy, and I definitely notice that if even I'm strong enough to move something, sometimes I really have to make sure I'm in the right position or I'll just get knocked over. I'm a little surprised that concept extends even up to the biggest men out there.

Those pizzas did look good. A few years back, I would get a frozen pizza, slice up probably half a chicken breast on top, covering the whole thing. Good times. On a healthier kick now, but fond memories. The pizza oils when they mix with the chicken, good times

No Offence but Bobby is not even a top 10 contender, with Thor, Hooper, Luke and Tom, Martins, Novikov, Tre, Evan, Pavlo and even Matt Ragg all expected to place well above him. His standing in WSM 2023 was awful, he didn't stand a chance last year, no idea what has changed in a few months.
