Yes this game is amazing, and I love the addition of the temples, but this only has THREE Kongs. Wrinkley, Candy, Swanky, Dixie, and Funky are gone, and even most of the animal buddies like Expresso, Rattly Winky, and Squitter are absent. This game also took out water levels, so there goes Enguarde. This game does have better level design than the old games because this game isn't as stupid when it comes to difficulty, but the lack of great characters is really sad.
I will say that the Mole Train is an amazing boss fight, and I do like Rickety Rails, Jagged Jewels, and Grip 'N' Trip is also a good level. But I hated this world because of how difficult it gets, even later worlds like Forest and the Cliff weren't as hard.
I agree, all almost all of the vehicle levels in the game are ridiculously hard, mostly because you die in one hit, and you have make pixel perfect inputs to avoid dying.
