MoonVeil Regent didn't seem good at first but the more I think about it the more the card seems ok for mono-red goblins as a 4 drop since goblins don't really have one or a way to generate card draw. More interestingly than mono-red, this card might open up a way for Boros Dragon's Approach decks to be viable. It can dump a bunch of DAs into the grave to set up the ability to summon a free dragon from the player's library, ideally Velomachus. It has potential for some fun jank.
That dragon literally wants you to play 5 color, and Kenrith doesn't need any help being a "better commander". At least he can't be a "food chain" deck.
I feel that Moonveil Regent is one of those "intelligence test" cards. The wording tricks you into wanting to use it one way, in this case multicolored decks, but in reality it's true efficacy is more subtle, using it in mono red for instance. In you're spoiler vid for this card you succinctly expressed that. I'm with you on this card being really awesome. I want to use it along with red Rituals, Kobolds and cheap burn. If people aren't grasping the power and beauty of this card, by no means feel obliged to enlighten them, LOL.
That's exactly right. Usually 2 weeks is my new rule unless I'm using trade in credit at my LGS at no cost to me. Helps to trade for credit the day of or after the boxes come out
@@MustangMike52 my card shop is a small mom and pops place, I dont think I would try and do that to him. I'll buy the pre release booster boxes because its fun to crack packs and see some new cards. Beyond that go back to buying singles like usuall once prices level out.
yeah Moonveil Regent is nutty bonkers, i think that the people that doubted you also didn't think about how many flashback type cards there are in the set, along with red and other colors ability to have card advantage/draw through "impulsive" means, aka like exiling cards and being able to cast them from there at or up to certain point in time that just make this over-the-top finisher sick as balls!!!
The card is worded in such a manner that it tricks you into wanting to use it in the least optimal way. But with red Rituals, cheap spells and Flashback, this dragon is an amazing engine.
Think you're going to have to put the intro back in my man,I've been seeing too many comments from fans who've been clamoring for it. Me,I think it's cool, but if you don't feel like it's necessary I'm not gonna whine about it;after all,it's your channel dude, run it the way you want to. Great video as usual, keep doin that thing that you do man. 😁👍
That angel is even sillier, because it has lifelink. it attacks, you double your life total and its power to 6, then it connects and you gain 6 life, going to 12. Next turn it attacks, doubling your life total to 24, then connects and you gain 24 life, going to 48. It's pretty strong tbh
I think wrenn and seven will see play in standard since we will still have the ZNR landfall engines and may have a place in modern amulet titan or scapeshift builds. Moonveil will definitely see play since it's a huge card draw engine and some of the adversaries are really solid too. Nothing too crazy but definitely some solid cards
@@Pokellectibles94 yeah im not 100% on how she works, so I cant say for sure she will be the best in modern, especially in amulet tbh thats an awkward place i doubt that shell be in there but scapeshift or lands type deck more likely. yeah! this or "Teferi, who slows the meta" make more sense then "...who slows fun", at least it could be better worded or maybe Purp misremember it and it was more like "...who slows down the excitement/fun"
@@sailordaigurren8225 agreed, at least teferi is higher cost and not in colors that can easily ramp into him. I'm just so tired of going against ultimatum and rogue mill decks. @@Pokellectibles94 oh you poor soul, I thought you were going to mention Modern, where he is literally not even just in control decks... He is so powerful and in interactive that any multi color decks will run him just for the hell of it
Green really is broke AF, right now. Fight was already a bit of a questionable mechanic, but then BS like Blizzard Brawl and Ram Through came out, giving Green direct damage creature removal with no downside at all. 😒
@@sailordaigurren8225 Actually it's better than that. Every decent green player will run at least a few 1/1s with deathtouch. Ram Through + deathtouch = a 2 mana kill card for any creature that doesn't have indestructible or hexproof. The only thing green needs is a board-wipe & you never have to play any other color again. 🤣
@@dr.zoidberg8666 I wouldn't describe that as "better." Green is broken AF, and it's just getting worse, not better. Meanwhile, I like playing White, so I'm boned in EDH and such.
@@sailordaigurren8225 I mean, white is still pretty busted & it combos well with any color. Its got the best removal, best token generation, & best lifegain of any color in standard. It's also pretty good at popping down counters. The only thing it struggles with imho is card draw, which is why blue/white is such a good combo.
Arlinn apprearance change every set. Described at 45 years old she looks older on the first card and a lot younger since but the 4 cards drawing(one japanese art)have a different faces. She has a scar that change shape. She looks also different on the comic book cover. She was described as black hair by the first artist but the color change a lot to a red head. There is probably some guideline missing from Wizards to their artist
I'm not a veteran MTG player but I had a LOT of fun griefing people with my black murder deck 🤣 After killing off 6 or 7 of their creatures, people usually quit.
The angel ignores the day night cycle because it does not have the daybound/nightbound mechanic. It does not transform based on whether it is day/night. it only transforms when you meet the condition of transformation, the loss of game only triggers if the angel did not get to transform(if the angels trigger went on the stack and someone destroyed it in response then when the trigger resolves you would lose the game)
I'm new to collecting mtg and this set really sticks out to me. I was just curious if you guys thought it would go up in value over the next couple of years?
Just saying. Get out of MTG. It’s graduated to full loot boxes. Haven’t been able to get enough cards to build a deck before the damn mechanics change. Seriously. It’s turned into a wannabe EA
Can't believe I left out the back side of Arlinn. It's my first day making youtube videos guys, cut me some slack
Understandable. Have a nice day!
Moonville Regent is going to be so good in my mono red decks especially when tectonic Reformation is on the battlefield

A cool detail about Enduring Angel. The backside art is weilding a restored version of the sword that is shattered on the front
