A transmission filter plays a crucial role in keeping your transmission fluid clean and free of contaminants. The issue with your 2014 Chevy Captiva Sport, where RPMs increase but the car doesn't accelerate properly, along with the scanner message about losing connection with the transmission, suggests a transmission-related problem. This could be due to a faulty transmission control module, a bad sensor, or issues within the transmission itself. Here's what you should do:
      1. Check Transmission Fluid: Ensure the transmission fluid is at the correct level and in good condition. Change if it's burnt or dirty.
      2. Inspect Electrical Connections: Check for any loose or damaged wires and connectors related to the transmission system.
      3. Re-scan and Diagnose: Use a more advanced scanner if available to get a detailed diagnostic reading. Pay attention to any transmission codes.
      4. Consult a Specialist: Given the complexity of transmission issues, it's advisable to take your vehicle to a mechanic or a dealership that specializes in Chevrolet or transmissions for a thorough inspection and repair.
