Man, I'm sorry to tell you that you don't need to do all this work. 3 bolts will remove the gas pedal and you can get to the actuator. The other actuator is behind the radio. Just take the radio out and you can get to it.
Sorry you went through this. There is a special little tool that lets you undo the back screw on the actuator. Only need to remove stereo to get it it. I know just replaced it for the second time in 5 years. Took all of 45 minutes.
What is the black hose that next to the housing on drivers side for and whats it connected to? On my lincoln its loose and cant find where it should be clipped on to?
Not sure exactly what you are referring to, but hoses usually contain electrical wires. They usually have plastic connectors that clip in every few feet.
Are you talking about the leather wrapped handle? The leather pieces snap in place, but the handle itself attaches to the shifter with two tiny phillips head screws.
@@BLACKNOY0979 can you send a pic? The shift assembly attaches with 4 black plastic clips. Maybe one of them broke? I actually have one if you need it.
I have the same issue on my 2010 Navigator... it looks like a heck of a job, might end up paying a mechanic to do it. Are you able to find the other video you mentioned (without removing the console/dash) showing the easier way of replacing it?
That was a video of a guy working on a Ford. Same issue as ours, nearly identical setup. Once you remove the center console and can access under the dash, you can cut the plastic posts that hold the hvac vent in place. I wouldn't recommend doing that as you will still struggle to slide the actuator in place. It is doable if you have a few days to spare and a buddy to help with the dash. Just take extra care to realign the hvac properly. If the drain pan moves it could cause water to leak into the cab instead of out under the car
@@ChrisRollins The one you are referring to, is for the passenger side. The one on driver side is against the floor with screws underneath. Just like in the video above, it’s almost impossible to reach without removing the dash.

Bro,.....the blend door is very accessible without all that, three bolts remove gas pedal.move to the side and change it.
I believe the blend door actuator next to the gas pedal you refer to controls the air diverter, which switches between vent, floor, defrost.
Thanks for making this video!
Hopefully it helps! Let me know if you get stuck anywhere.
Its on minute 15:45 and on, its literally sticking out next to the feet ac vent, its a black plastic hose

What kind of special tool?
Thanks for the video. How does the top panel with the center speaker come off? Does it pull up, or forward?
So its been awhile, but I remember it coming off with the dash. I didn't need to remove it in addition too.

Three actuators on front total one on gas pedal ,the one on radio and one on the bottom facing up is a really pain in the ass the worst one😢
Theres one more on the passenger side by the fuse box on top😅
Dude, how do I tighten my shift knob? I drive a 2010 navigator?! Thanks men!

@@BLACKNOY0979 it sounds like the whole shift assembly needs to be replaced.

Just take the radio out and you can reach it with your hand. Takes 20 minutes
