I've been playing the game for a little over 7 years now and as my first mmo it's been one of my favorite games of all time. It still is. My first year and a half to two years I didn't bot anything. I didn't even know what a bot was and toward the later end of that I was afraid to because I thought for sure I'd be banned. I was about 11 at the time and so my parents didn't really want me to be playing an online flash game for more than several hours a day. I never saw this as an issue to me as I just used the word of other players to hunt for cool looking non-member armors I could get, I knew nothing of what rarity meant (and I was so devastated when I found out I'd never have a chance to buy platinum naval commander again). But as I grew more knowledge of the game I started to catch onto some things, and I eventually realized that if I wanted my account to be considered good, what I needed was good rares. They were the only way I could set my character apart from any other potential newcomer, and ultimately I felt I was seen as a nooby until I was able to begin acquiring rare items. As I began to take on these more ambitious goals, however, I stumbled upon the more grindy portions of the game, I realized I needed to be able to solo bosses and so I farmed out necromancer because my cousin said it had great sustain. And as I grinded more and more, the time I could devote to the things I really enjoyed about the game diminished. Around that time is when I decided I should try a bot, and at first I would never leave it running without me there at my computer for fear of Cicero himself showing up and asking me what I was doing in a map all by myself. I didn't really bot for a whole lot at the time, but I realized that when I left it going before I left for school in the day, I could come home, have what I wanted, and be able to actually hop in yulgar and talk to people or play through the new event with my friends. For me botting has never deterred me from making any in game purchases, quite the opposite. I made a vow I would never buy a class with acs in the first place, and generally anything I want that I can get for free I will try to farm or farm partially and bot partially. But I still have a great incintive to spent money on the game for rare armors that I really want. I can't bot for an armor or pet that can only be purchased for acs, and I want those just as much as the new legion rare I can get while I'm at school, and I would never be able to get any of those even with botting if I hadn't spent money on the holiday paragon pet. The legion is a prime example of the best and worst of the aqw economy. It's a buy in path, but it's lead to many rewards I would've otherwise never gotten, or just spent way more money on if I really wanted them. I'm kind of rambling at this point, but the basic point I'm trying to make is, when I was younger and even more so now that I've got school and a part time job, I just didn't have access to the time many others did. I had to make a choice, and that was to get everything I wanted legitimately and not have any social time for it to matter, or use this software to help me out. The reason I started playing aqw in the first place was because I couldn't afford Xbox live every time I ran out and would go months to years without much online interaction. I couldn't just buy things all the time as an alternative. I feel anyone in my situation would've made the same decision or quit the game, because that's what I would've done if not for botting. Aqw and smite are the only games I've spent money on to this day, and aqw takes the vast majority. In my opinion, it's just as unfair for me to be locked away from something I wanted and that was possible for me to obtain and despite the fact that I logged in and played every day, because I wasn't allowed or just couldn't put as much time as I needed in order to get it. When I saw someone with a class or an armor I didn't have, even before I knew about botting, I didn't think to myself "I wish I had that dedication", or "I wish I could work that hard". I thought how much I envied that they had the time to sit and mindlessly click for upwards of 12 hours in-game time and still get to hang out and show it, when I simply didn't.
the reason botting exists is to allow people who couldnt put in as much effort and time to actually get things that they want, which i felt, being jealous of my friend because they get to get something i couldnt.
There are actual farmable items and it’s satisfying when you finally reach the goal after grueling farming. But there are some items that are, a little bit too much. Inhumane quests.
Kevin GuintoRoy like the fact that the necrotic sword of doom requires 7500 void auras (among a plethora of other hard ass items), and the non member quest requires you to kill bosses 100 times, and to top it off, the quest has a chance to drop one TWO void auras
@@wiredel5384 no bro, that is a way to gain membership for ae. AE knee that void aura would be too much for majority of players, and that's what they want, in order to make it easier for them The answet is SDKA and they only way to get Sdka is Membrrship, Simple Marketing. I mean the blade DOES 50% more damage, dont expect it be easy, do you really want nsod to be a common weapon? Lol i know i dont.
@@soloassasins9407 A game is meant to make farming fun, sitting there mindlessly clicking on the same bosses over and over again doesn't sound like fun to you does it right? It doesn't matter if we're member or non-member, AE needs to consider that we are all humans just the same. I'm not saying make the blade easy to farm, that would be stupid, but at least make it fun to farm cus even if you get the best drop chance from the quest, which is 10 void auras, you still need to complete the quest 750 times! and that's considering you have the best rng possible, you see the problem with how boring that sounds? I play games to have fun, not to click the same buttons over and over
@@wiredel5384 true, I really hate farming for nsod, even though i bought member, the Rng for SDKA is still annoying. None the less, But the thing about this sort of items is that they made it even for BOTTING almost unbearable i mean think about it even if you do bot to finish 1 quest takes hours. That's something to consider because you could gain a lot of material within 1 hour of farming nulgath. So i think thats why they make the item almost impossible for free players. Because you know, majority of free players Bot.
@@soloassasins9407 That sounds like a scape-goat to me though. The reason why the majority of free players bot is because AE pretty much forces them to. If they made these big farms more enjoyable than grindy, then there would be fewer brothers. I don't think the way to combat botting should be to make every non member quest impossible to do since that screws over the non members who play the game normally, who had nothing to do with the botting problem and just want to play the game.
Yeah a lot of people like me bot but not for farming just for conveniency, like bank access, and getting seasonal items whenever I want, and fast travels, but not farming.
tbh i am against botting, but at the same time AE makes everything so hard to do that people arent just gonna waste like 1-2 months just for farming something such as void highlord. if AE didnt make it so hard to farm, maybe there will be less botters?
I agree with you entirely. Yeah, the amount of farming time without botting is sometimes insane. As If AE expects everyone to bot to get certain items.
@Cap. BLEX as someone who codes and has messed around with creating bots, that'd be pretty easy to get around. There are many bots with prerequisites needed to use it properly, those would only be added to that list. Once you meet the prereq to enter the area, we can bot it out.
I feel like they need to make this change. But also need to make quests like VHL challange less time consuming and more dependant on droprate %. I would much rather farm a few items with 0.5% droprate than doing the current VHL challange. It's one thing knowing you're insanely far away from your goal and knowing you might be able to get it this very next kill. This difficulty model that they went for isn't my cup of tea.. But that's just my opinion.
yep 2 years late, but here's my POV Why I legit gave up farming and decided to move to botting. I legit lost all incentive to farm at all tbh. Sure I'm "cheating" myself of a reward or losing the satisfaction, but that's just a too much time consuming to grind. Yes, I do agree on the fact that money spending is both bad yet good for the player base as it leaves people salty because people who spend money get the upper hand but at the same time it helps out AE because as you said they're a small company. But the main issue here is that and the main elephant in the room is. AQW is old and it's boring rather than fun. Legion Revenant is an easy grind, but WAY TOO TIME-CONSUMING. No one got time for killing 1000 monsters for just a minor requirement or grind up 4k Legion tokens per turn in. It's just insane on how some people who don't bot are actually that dedicated to grinding it applauds to them. IN short. AQW is too old, boring, and just too grindy for those who just want to play an RPG. RPGs are usually supposed to be fun and grindy not grindy and not fun. Art is cool I don't deny that, but in the end of the day it always comes to the main issue of being boring and time consuming for the average player
Like my main reason to bot was time budgeting, usually when I bit I go to the gym, hangout with my gf or friends, or go to a shift. Then when I get home I can sit down on aqw and enjoy some new cool items!! I only bot grindy quests but anything else I'll do for fun (void highlord challenge definitely not included)
Ok, let me end this botting "issue" once and for all. Why are you ppl so focused on what botters do?We are not hurting the game financially. AE makes it's money from website traffic, stores,ACs,Membership. They do not make money off of you farming for 18hrs with no social engagement. So everyone saying oh "botters are hurting the company financially" stop lying. Botters like me still buy Acs from time to time and upgrade. People who make videos about botting are always the ones who spend $100s of dollars on aqw. You guys have no valid reason against botters except for saying "it's bad" "we work hard and you get it easily without doing work". This is how I like playing games that want you to have no life. Blame AE for making the game unlike NO other MMO. Other MMO want you to farm too but it isn't to the level of where AE takes farming. And again even though I said it already. If those of you who are going to say, "Then why are you playing the game if don't want to grind". Because I like AQW!!!. I started playing when I was like 10. I never was a botter back in the old aqw days when farming was REASONABLE, Now it's just ridiculous, you need to spend 3 months just to get a CLASS!!! Lol AQW is dying for many reasons and botters are not contributing because we still play the game. 1. AE went 100% Pay To Win,Rewards players who spend money,2.Farming became Ridiculously unreasonable, almost inhumane. 3. The original players are getting older and leaving the game and there is no next generation of players. I respect players who farm in 2014-2017, but I don't praise players who grinded before. It was normal farming and challenging enough. 2014-2017 farming is insane and that's why ppl bot.
you do know that if you farm it does not mean immediately spend 9+ hours a day to farm a hard item. It could also mean you just farm for SHORT period of time. this way you do not stray away from real life things and get progress more or less. SURE it takes longer than hard grinding, but remember that almost all farmable things are non-rare, so they will not go anywhere.
I really don't appreciate people like this, though. He's trying to justify something that he is being told not to do by the owner of the software he is using, which should conspicuously be to no avail since regardless of what the rule is, with certain exceptions players shouldn't really be able to go against the creator of the game like this. I don't have a massive problem with botting, but the way this person is so mad because he is being criticised for doing so is irritating. Why non-botters don't like botters should be painfully obvious. People who work hard for their items feel less special when everyone has it, which they will, albeit through illegitimate means. When you lose to a VHL in PvP who botted for the class, it really feels like they shouldn't have won. Same with wars and players using powercrept classes that they didn't work for. Bot all you want, I don't blame you. But please don't act like "I really really don't want to" is a justification for what it is you're doing.
As stated by many botters themselves, the main reason why they and other players bot is due to AQW's gameplay being tedious and boring. As you stated in the video, this is a valid argument. If AE wants to stop botting long-term while also keeping (and hopefully increasing) their playerbase, I believe the only long-term solution is to remove this incentive for botting by making AQW's gameplay more interesting (i.e. complex and dynamic). The server rewrite holds potential to do this. If monsters require more attention and skill to defeat (e.g. Binky), botters can no longer use the excuse that the game is boring to validate their botting behavior. Still, a change this big will most likely take a long time to accomplish. As a result, one suggestion I have made before (see: www.reddit.com/r/AQW/comments/6v7g17/what_do_you_guys_think_of_this_idea/ for more details) is a short-term solution that, if implemented, I believe would most likely lessen the amount of botters in the game. If you don't know, detecting players who use bots is very easy (private AQW servers have shown this), but AE doesn't want to detect botters and ban them because if they ban botters, they would lose a good amount of their playerbase (paying ones is especially what they fear). As a result, I give the following solution. Detect botters, but do not ban them. Instead, provide some other type of punishment that does not really interfere with them being able to play the game. Maybe detected botters don't get a yearly badge that gives ACs (like the Honorable Hero badge), or maybe just an amount of ACs each week (maybe 1-5 ACs) or month (10-20 ACs). Why not just flag them as a botter on their character page? This would end the complaints by legit players who want to be recognized for going through the tedious, time-consuming path to get an item. Botters would lose their respect in the community (if they are active on yulgar or Twitter), but that isn't really a reason to quit, since they can still play or if they don't really interact with others. Maybe they could even redeem themselves and remove the flag on their character page by going through some sort of rehab. For example, if they don't bot for a month (not detected), the flag can be taken away. Of course, if they bot again right after, it would be detected, the flag would be put on their character page again, and this time it takes 2 months of non-botting activity in order to remove it (and so on) These are again, just short term solutions to lessen the amount. In the end, improving AQW's gameplay is the long-term solution. Also, they are just some off the top of my head general ideas which probably have some flaws I haven't considered and that need to be resolved with more details before being implemented. Anyway, nice video Renegade. I am also glad that you visit www.reddit.com/r/AQW/ from time to time.
the only reason why players bot is because kids and between 14-18 years players actually have schools, a life, a job and all. that is a 800% better excuse
If they only have auto pilot system for farming and collecting stuff, imagine collecting 100 quest items with a 5-10% drop rate and hoping RNJesus will always at your side.
I know that 2 years have passed already which means that not many ppl or u etho, will see my comment, but I really want to compliment u on how well u described the subject/content. U covered both sides of the debate very well and clear. Honestly that's what amazed me more than anything in this video. Anyways cheers :)
I'm on the fence with this. On one hand, I am against it because years back I'd spend crazy amounts of time farming to get one class (which I thought was ridiculous) and I can understand why someone who has done that would get mad at someone who just cheated and got it in a matter of hours. On the other hand, I can understand why people do bot because the gameplay just loses it's touch (If it ever had one with you). Of course there are other reasons, I'm just using the most basic and common one. I have botted before, but the only reason was that I really did not have enough time to farm because I was so busy with school, and I wanted to try a new class. Sure, I'm not proud of it but I had no choice without it taking multiple months which does not sound worth it to me (since I had no money to spend on the game either I had no option of spending ACs). As I said earlier, I'm on the fence with this. I can understand why people may bot, and overall I'm not too against it as long as it's not some stupid reason (e.g they had the time and don't mind farming but they weren't bothered for a certain class). I can also understand why people are against botting.
dude, i am a botters but trust me, before i tried bot, i farm rep for necro, dbsk, and shaman manually and trust me it is really frustrating that i gave up playing manually when my friend introduce me a bot
I support botting, People got lives they don’t have time to sit at home and grind for BLOD or Drakaths armor or sepulchure’s armor. Only people who will sit at home and do that will be the nerds and no lifes
I'm a botter and I don't think botting is a bad thing, ofc AE will never publicly support botting ( that would be stupid ) but the thing is that they will never put anti cheat system in the game, they've could done that years ago but they didn't because they would lose a huge amount of players. Like I said I'm botter myself but I also purchase AC packages and memberships from time to time, so does a lot of other botters out there...
If the new Client does not have anti cheat i will be pretty salty. AE is a video game company that has never implementing anti cheat software into their games like wtf sometimes it feels like they welcome the people to cheat.
All a bot does is play the game for you, it doesn't glitch or mod money, doesn't hack stat's or health or damage, doesn't increase boss item drop chances, doesn't mod ACs into your account, doesn't hack your level or class stat's. All it does is put in the time that some people genuinely can't put in, I've had my account for 8 years, for about 6 years I did the grind and was only level 39,because I didn't have time to play, I enjoyed playing, but I didn't have a long of time and AQW is a game where either a quest takes 5 minutes, or a quest takes 5 days. Personally, a 5 day quest for me such as Void would take me 5 weeks, and personallly that's too much time and I'd just get bored of the repeatitiveness off the quest and give up after a week. I have a full time job, family, friends and a lot of other games to play, I'm not one to pay to win plus I have a family to pay for I'm not gonna waste my money of a game. Bottling takes out the fucking annoying grindiness of REP and Classes and gives me more time for the storyline quests and actually proper game play.
i bot for a good reason. i had a 8 year old acc that i spent my own money on and i got banned because i was accused for acc sharing with no evidence at all, so i feel like botting is OK if you have a reason behind it
A good solution to make the combat in the game a little more exciting would be doing what they did when the chaos lord releases came out, each chaos lord had special combat interactions that made the fight more enjoyable. For example Ledgermayne's special ability was sometimes during battle he would charge up an explosion which would kill all (or do tons of dmg) players outside a certain protective point. Why i don't see that kind of combat more or ever since that time disappoints me a bit.
Tbh I think the main reason people bot is the fact that AQW a bad game.I have an 8 year account and I came back recently. I remember the time where I can fight bosses with people and grind together, making friends etc. However, I came back being pretty much not able to do anything. Can't fight any of the chaos boss alone and there is no one else fighting them. There is pretty much no choice but to bot to farm levels so I can actually progress in the game. If there isn't a bot to level my account up while I can do something else, I don't think I am going to play the game at all. I don't think bot is the reason why AQ is dying, it's actually a symptom for the dying game. People botting are just searching for a reason to actually play the game to make it more interesting imo (writing codes etc) and would probably just quit if they can't.
*Hen neko,* yeah. Those were the days where you can't finish a quest/defeat a boss without the help of others because Classes weren't so Overpowered back then. Which I missed. It was one of the challenges a player must face. Asking people to help them for a bit, socializing. I also remember reaching lvl 40 from lvl 38 or 39 would take a day to achieve since there were nearly no maps for exp grinding. NOW it is even HARDER for non-botters to gain EXP with the current max level of 85. So much have changed and so is the way players play the game.
I loved that you covered this topic so well. The community needed a refresher, and a good quality video discussing the controversial topic. *My video on Botting is outdated* Good work man!
For those who began 9 years ago I can understand why you would bot. The level cap was originally 20 and monsters did not give near the amount of exp they do now. I remember being level 20 for a couple of years and not gaining any experience during that time, killing countless monsters along the way, and now after many years I have to gain another 60 levels when I played 10x the amount of new players who get to my level in a second. Its simply not fair for one of those players to have to grind more when they grinded for years already with no exp gain.
I can see why people use bots. Especially for classes. By the time i spend all my time and resources into a class a new one comes out and now you get stuck with a bad class and the cycle repeats without a bot.
AQW is a very weird game in that it's really designed for people to grind. Pretty much everything in the game takes numerous hours if not weeks to obtain, and that's intentional. It's meant for people who enjoy to grind and farm for hours on end for the inevitable payoff. If that isn't fun for you then AQW just isn't really meant for you and botting is basically just having someone else have fun for you (of course a bot can't have fun but whatever). If you're botting then what is the point of playing the game.
Don't play it if you don't like it. Also why would you need an "excuse" for being anti-social? I'm an extrovert and have a lot of friends I talk to in person but I still enjoy the game for when I'm at home and not exercising/hanging with friends. Just because I play AQW doesn't make me unhealthy/anti-social.
to keep away of habit of botting is to put a certain time or routine to farm those.... that's why I refer classes that is only daily quest type such as my favorite class for now: The Cryomancer class. I don't need to rush out because most seasonal or rare classes are quite easy to get... Thar's all.
Just Incase anyone is here recently, if you didn’t already know AE is working on a new launcher for AQW which they have stated will come with a legal bot of some sort, they said you will be able to auto farm certain items but not all to make it balanced which seems a lot better than current
Botting will always be part of AQW and I'm sure the developers notice this issue, However I don't think the developers will ever try to prevent this from happening. AQW is a perfect game for a botting environment the game it self is quite boring. The one thing most players catch fun out about AQW is their is always this comedic side to the game that makes you want to just keep playing it. In my opinion botting is normal in games like this , preventing botting will take too much time and resource and I'm sure the developers will take that time and effort to look into something more interesting than this.
@@darkmatter3112 using something as simple as keyboard macros has made the game exponentially more fun. all i need to do when doing long tedious farms is check in my laptop every 5 or 10 minutes to turn in a quest then go do something else. gold and xp farm is even easier, check back every hour to renew a gold boost . AE needs to implement macros to the game somehow it makes it so much more enjoyable farming in the background
After getting void highlord by just botting but i must say it might not be as satisfying as getting it normally, but it sure is more satisfying than never getting the class at all.
Hiya Zypr0 here! People has their reason why they bot, yeah it’s illegal but it saves time. Quests nowadays are hectic beyond belief, really burn time. I respect them bot people, you know it’s awesome to see them having interest. Disclaimer, I don’t bot. I’ve done my fair share of botting before. But I find it more rewarding if I do stuff manually. But! I have this little secret. I’ve downloaded this auto clicker for mac. It makes your cursor click automatically and the intervals can be adjusted as well. Because I’m loaded with art commissions the application really helps. While drawing, I watch my character clicks the same skill, also I’m assisting from time to time clicking other skills. I rely on the players inside the room. I did my commissions and saves time! And also not botting sorta. It’s just an auto clicker 😅
While I dont bot in AQW, I'm not going to sit and play six hours straight to grind for a single thing. If I wanted to do that I would play wow. Instead, I have a auto clicker, I go into evil war dage, head to bloodfiend area, and spam soul siphon. I dont have that time to lay down hours 🤷♂️
Sword101 tbh, I bot but there’s a reason. I would never bot if the game wouldnt run on fucking 2 frames per second, if this game runned smoothly at 60 FPS I would never bot and enjoy my farming.
(was renegade farming in testing server? couldnt tell.) THIS is the longest contructive comment i made in my life so pls read EVERYTHING! (ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO BOT PLS) Clearly the guy that said "F*ckers has no life" clearly has no respect for Ray But his point on the money thing is justified. Its just how the argument was presented that was disgusting. I have tried botting before. And from that experience, i can tell this. BOtting, for me is a horrible waste of my time because even if i can auto farm stuff, there are times that it disconnects (most of the time it disconnects w/o my attention) and it throws away all the dropped items on the screen. it doesn't really matter if you have auto-relog if you lose everything (EXCEPT REP, but rep is easy imo) Which is BAD esp. for nulgath farmers. I've experienced disconnecting just as i try to claim that non mem voucher. (Believe me i cried inside for a bit) HOwever yes, A LOT OF COOL IN-GAME ITEMS NEED TO BE FARMED (Im looking at YOU VHL
Dante_ak74, Hi man, my name is Matthew, and you just said what i needed to stop botting. I love this game as much you love, but you proved that you really love the game, and i dont... So, after this comment, i deleted it, and this will be hard for me, bacause i play this literally ALONE, i dont have succes on bring my friends to this game because of these sh**s. I`m Brazillian, so pay for one item is just really stunning for me, one dollar here is fckin 3-4 Reais (Brazillian Coin), and the value is the same as the dollar if u in the country, so THIS IS EXPANSIVE AS F**K. And guess what? I buying the items on game bro, trying my hardest. But, if i bot, this isn`t worth at all. So i`m glad that u opened my mind to that. Thanks you so much. If u have some time, play with me sometime, i`ll be happy if you or someone can teach me some farms (because i dont understand the entire game playing 7 years, cuz i growed playing this without the English). And tipically, sorry for bad english, i learned with AQW, so i hope that u understood all xD Nickname: X ESTERMINADOR X
Very good, well constructed discussion about the topic. You looked at both sides and also reasons why people bot, without making your opinion too obvious. I can also tell that you thought a lot about this video and did your research before putting the video up. Well done :)
AQW was at its most successful during Chaos lord arcs, where you have 10-12 Servers up, and 15-20k player base at maximum peak at weekly releases. now it's quite rare to even see 10k, at max I think I've seen is 9.4k which was during this week (Frostwolf LQS release) I miss the days where the chaos boss had their unique abilities much like Escherion / Vath (Beat side kick before the boss), Legermayne (Step on a certain platform to avoid death), Khaasanda where you literally had to have a well organised full room, having lots of healers walking in and out of rooms to remove aggro, etc. It was such a player driven game back then. But when Necromancer came out and every classes afterwards now has SOLO potentials, you really don't need anyone else. Heck even at greenguardwest against the Black Knight or Red Dragon at lair was a tough feat with full room. literally, there's always someone dying. It was so hectic back then. But really though, yeah there's a divided community perhaps it's greater than 30% of the playerbase that are botters, and that's one of the reasons why after what?; 4 - 5 years AE still hasn't put out another ban wave after the first one (i think this was during AQ's 3rd Bday They Might be Giants small arc), because they know the game would most definitely die when 30%+ aren't real players but rather botters.
I spent over 700k ACs in my years of AQW. I have money to spend but I started boting because nowadays there is no respect for a players hardfarming. Since almost 80% of aqw bot. When boting will die I will happily quit.
I'm botting just for one reason, i feel so bad when i see class like blaze binder it need alot of days to farm pyromancer for it then i see someone just buy it with acs when i see that i feel sooo bad same with memebership only items and some things which cost alot of acs like SToT. Anyways that was my opinion just want to you guys to repect it.
I like it how Renegade view this topic. You look at both perspective compare to the others, who are, BIAS. We human always have a reason for something, whether it's good, bad, stupid, etc. But by being bias all you see is 'These botters are lazy and are nothing but cheaters' and not 'Okay, these guys bot because they have better things to do or are busy or isn't in the mood, etc.' Plus, botting can be considered a lazy approach but it isn't destroying the game is it? Plus, the botters are still farming, it's just instead of them playing, the bot are.
To be fair, for me it really depends on what you are doing with the bot. I mean, doing some class leveling isn't something I would cry over. Maybe even rep farming. But I've heard from people that they can access older shops that should not be accessible anymore. Or they use a bot to, for example, skip the cannons in J6's ship. That is the problematic thing.
Theres a huge difference between the the frame rates in the game between browser and a bot. Some people with older PCs (like me) use the bot programme just to increase their fps on the game.
For things like Seppy's Armor, or legion tokens without Paragon pets, bots are almost MANDATORY. 12 hours of botting(which is faster than a player due to the way questing works in it) gets you somewhere around 600 dark spirit orbs. To even start the proper Seppy armor quests takes 10k dark spirit orbs. Sure the story is pretty fun and interesting, and one may even accept rep farming for classes as decents, despite being grindy as hell, but for real rares like seppy's armor, you will need about 200+ hours of actual constant farming without breaks for maximum efficiency of getting seppy's armor, and let's not talk about the Necrotic sword of doom.
Im quite late and my comment will be extremely huge, but Ill tell you my approach, as a person who bot for good reasons We all know that AQW is an extremely grindy game, ever since 2008, the quests were the same, like kill 8 enemies of the same type, drop a rare item and turn in, and this hasnt changed since today, to complete a quest chain, you need to kill dozens of enemies or click on some stuff, and sometimes you need to kill a boss, and this repeats over and over and over, its even more uninteresting than the original AQ, in which the quest chains were a single quest, you kill different enemies one by one and then you defeat a boss, now imagine doing it 7 times in a row (except for bosses- oh wait, Nulgath exists), anyway, the way AQW quests handicaps the player for the most part is attrocious, take Doomwood for example, when you finish the main quest chain, you end up with rank 7, and only the main quests gives you a fair amount of rep, as for when you end the quest chain, you still have near 300k of rep to rank up and the only quests avaiable gives you 200 rep, and by doing the math, you need to complete this same quest 1500 times to reach rank 10, and doomwood isnt even the most extreme example, as we have classes like stonecrusher and void highlord, so imagine you, you want to grind for a class, but you need to study/work, clean your house, play with your pet, satisfy your girlfriend, so most of the time, its not because the person has all the time in the world and is too lazy to grind, no, AQW players are human beings, they have lives, they dont have the time to dedicate themselves for a browser game, and despite it being done to "encourage players to buy AC/Member", things like these are very easy to backfire and generate unsatisfaction of the free players, cuz not everyone is able to buy those things due to them being just students who dont have bank accounts/paypal or something and their parents refuses to pay for online services and theres other people that are poor, like Everybody Hates Chris levels of poor, and they dont have conditions to spend money on a games alternative currency. The botting has always been a feature in other grindy MMORPG games, mostly mobile ones, but even really old MMOs like Pockie Ninja had botting options, despite the quests being extremelly short compared to AQW. I also have to point out the gameplay, while I do love AQW as a game, I have to admit that in a gameplay perspective, its really boring, all you do is go to a specific place and fight enemies over and over again, and all you do is simply "click on a square to use skill", the most gimmicky it gets is using them in a different order, the reason why bots are so widespread is due to how AQW is hilariously simple in building variables, each /join is divided into many cells, take Citadel for example, the room where you enter is the first cell, and the cave is another, in order for you to access the cell in which Tercessuinotlim portal is located, you need 50 bone dusts, now Im gonna ask you, which other game works that way? The other games, when you do something like this, the game tries to auto correct itself, or they simply crash, AQW however doesnt work that way, it allows you to jump through fences even with the game features like /goto, the maximum of restriction youll ever see is a /join blocking you for not completing quests. Due to AQW simplicity, any brainless person can create your own bot, since the skills are divided by numbers, the quests are divided by ids and the monsters are identified by their name, it becomes really easy to make your own bot, not to mention that if you dont look with utmost attention, you cant differenciate a real person from a bot, cuz in a gameplay perspective, youre doing the exact same as an AI does, except that youre not an AI, youre a human, who is wasting your time to do something that should be fun, but isnt due to the repetitiveness of the game, the most fun youll probably have is either pvp (but make sure you go with anything but rep classes, or else youll get stomped) or chatting with other people, kinda like a discord server, but everybody being represented as fancy 2D characters
Hey Renegade, I can't really see a problem with botters, but it sounds really bad. I use to be a botter, but I stopped. I didn't know it was hurting the company that bad. I'm sorry people of the AE community. I hope you guys can forgive me. Nice video by the way. It's good to get your opinion out there about this subject.
I wouldn't say you're wrong, but in my perspective I use bot just because there's school and it would take weeks or maybe months if I don't use bot since I am a pretty active player. But my point is that botting is really something that can help players get their dream classes. Sure it's unfair for others, but sometimes we have to enjoy the little things rather than use my time farming classes instead of studying or doing my homework. Again this is just my experience.
Also, they need to put sound in cutscenes, because it's a way to old and boring scenes without sound integrated into them. That's one more reason why I personally don't watch cutscenes in-game.
Honestly, the reason I bot is because my browser runs really slowly. I can hardly attack a boss. When I’m on a by all I have to do is press “Attack” and it attack’s for me.
There is probably alot of people out there botting because they either don't have the money, or don't wanna spend the money on a game. But there are people like me, who actually buys a decent amount of ac's and memberships from time to time, and still bots. Currently im working on getting Nectrotic Sword of Doom, and the amount of time you need to put into the farming of this sword is crazy. It litteraly took me 12 hours of straight farming to get arround 600 void auras, and you need arround 7500, which is arround 150 hours. This is just one of the requirements to get this sword. It is insane how much time you need to put into farming in aqw, and lets take the void aura example again, you litteraly have to spend 150 hours grinding monster in the same place. Take to considering botting does not sound that stupid anymore?
those two things are easily fixed but AE doesnt want to for the past 4 years or so now why is it SO EASY? 1st by making farming for classes much EASIER but make their rank up system much HARDER by making them interact with fellow players on 1v1 pvp matches 2nd if possible add more slots in skill system and add a side class that helps the main class like in overlord ( yes its an anime) this way supports my 1st point by making farming for certain classes main/side easier or harder. 3rd make leveling up a satisfaction like actually letting us decide on how many extra stats we choose to give on each level and to be balanced only on a specific class this makes it so leveling up has a fun and deeper purpose cause we can invest all the time we spent on farming a class.
What's your oppinion on people who only bots when they are sitting at their pc, and looking at the screen at the same time? People who never uses their bot for anything else than stuff like killing bosses over and over again?
"Bot Gone AQW Gone" huh? The truth is "Whale gone AQW gone". Botters are just lazy b*stard who dont spend money but trying to get hard-farm items. If you got some to spend it's not even hard to get most items. Whats your other excuse? " we have life"? Heck! You dont even need to farm 24/7 if you play well. We legit players also have life, work, family but when we have time to spend (2-4 hours a day) thats when you proceed your farm
I do know a lot of players who do not buy perks and do not use bot, they even get the hardcore items without buying membership/pets ACS etc. to make the farming faster
2019/06 here anyone else xD i came accros this video because i was thinking of starting botting for Legion revenant class ( you need to kill more than 200K different monsters or whatever to complete those quests) but now after seen this i dont think amma go for it that way
As far as I know, they have to look at reports from other players and then ban reported players if they look like botters or something. I don't really know how it works, to be honest.
I think they just check your character action log, (yes those exist ask any programmer) from there they can look for patterns and so on, and well if let's say artix finds you farming and you look like a bot, dont reply, teleport suspiciously, etc. They obviously know who's a bot and who's not (?
Renegade AQW wrong u fucktard ae released a design note post few years back saying how they will never bad anyone reported for botting as there can be no proof unless they admited it in chat they also ignore all screen shots its reallllllllly hard to get banned for botting
Think of it like this. If botting was not a thing, then AE wouldnt have motivation to improve on botting and the experience of the game. When we see so many botters, it raises the questions: "is the game not fun?" or "Why the game is not fun and how can we improve upon it?" So I think we should thank the botters for encouraging AE to improve their game. And maybe in the future, VHL challenge will only require 5 or 10 completions aposed to 15 xD
To be fair most botters have a valid point that some things in game take insane ammount of time to obtain BoL, VHL etc, and many of them don't have enough time to spend hundreds of hours to get some items. Of course there will be primates that will just flat out rage and insult people. Those botters honestly bring shame to botter community. Personally I started botting after 6 years of playing AQW simply because i grew tired of sitting for hours and pressing 2-3-4-2-4-2-3--2-3-4 and so on. That requires literally no skill. After i started botting i started using that time to chat with people farming with me. Then again, i don't ruin anyones time or something. I'm not cheating or anything. Leaving a bot for days is stupid in my opinion. But to use it when you're farming some boss drops it's a quality of life tool. A bot is in no way cheating, since you're not cracking the game code or anything(not talking about shop grabbers, using those is the same thing as to ask for AQ to ban them). I don't have that much time to farm items like BoL, for instance i know that there are bots for farming BoL but lemme tell you a secret. I don't have it. I use bot only because 1 the lag is not so hard, i have 4 gigs of ram and the game still lags when there are 6 people walloping the boss, and bot has such a wonderful option as "Lag Killer", 2 because there is auto-attack function, which to be fair should've been in the game by default...., and 3 is the movement speed. Spending 15 seconds just to get to next room is worse than anything, i brought that up in AE forums, together with some other game issues, but God knows that AE doesn't even remember that they have forums. I still buy AC, but I've been playing AQ for 9 years now. And at this point AQ is no more than Avatar creator for me. It's more of a Social game than MMO(with almost dead "Social" and it's active player fault not bots, actives just don't communicate.). I've seen AQ ruin the fun of AQW, yet I'm still here, still pay them money, hoping that they would fix their mistake. So cut me some slack. I am farming for BoL from time to time, but the farming I mean is accept and complete the quest because i have max stack of undead energy in my backpack from LT farming. And no, that does not equal fun. I play games to have FUN. To entertain myself. Not to sit in brain dead state pressing the same 4 buttons over and over again and occasionally pressing mouse button. Play this game for 9 years, then try dissing me for using bots for something as trivial as boss drops and movement speed. I hate cheaters in online games, but botting is not cheating, in any way, shape or form. It's not stealing anything from AE or any other player. Bot's are not even a time savers, simply because you still spend time. Bots save the love to AQ. Because they let you cut out the parts that would otherwise make you stop playing. And the people who are searching for bots in youtube...... They are not a part of botting community, botters have dedicated forums, where people share bot scripts, and just generally communicate. Does any of you remember how you needed to have at least 1 healer in group to be able to fight a boss? How classes didn't have the means to self heal. Like you had to communicate, you had to form parties and if you were a cool guy, you had a healer class. Now..... you don't need healers, you can ignore literally every person in the game. In the old days there wasn't full rooms of people standing afk in silence. No, people were talking and the game was awesome. Now it's just dirty, cheap grind. Every quest is the same as previous one. At least the story is ok(sometimes). The game is at standstill position. And AE shows no intent to change that. Even server rewrite seemed like a game changer from a first look, after a closer inspection i came to realize that it's only a dust in the eyes. Not a change, but just a engine upgrade. The game stays the same. No updates, no bugfixes. Just stamping out new AC items every week with a weak story(mostly, the 7 deadly sins arc is cool). At this point the game is a cash grab, and thank god the pvp sucks. Because if it wouldn't AE would add some real dirty P2W items in game.(I don't count farming pets as P2W, sry). Honestly Let's be real AE is anything but poor. They are indie company, yes, but they are making a ton of money. Because there are a lot of people who buy membership, and even more who buy AC packages. So in Conclusion botting is a result of AE getting lazy. They made the game a boring grindfest, a deserted wasteland, a unfunny parody of what it once was. And people still wanted to be in that world. So they made bots, to Preserve their joy to the game. The kids who like to abuse bots in their majority get their botted accounts banned. So not a big deal. Don't try to attack botters simply because they are botting. Bot or no bot, it doesn't matter, the thing is we all love the game. And no, no sane person loves boring grind in mmo. Thank you for reading trough.
I see so much people saying that farming is *hard*. No, farming isn't a very difficult thing to do at all. It's just very time consuming, depending on what you're farming. It just comes down to your patience to be able to sit through the farm is all.
Sit through it? Nah, just pay your 4-year old brother 5 pence to mash your keyboard. It's not like AQW's bosses require thought, anyways, as Renegade stated.
If aqw doesn't get rid of botting, its gonna get worse, more ppl are gonna start botting and if aqw starts cracking down on botting, more ppl will leave the game
2 years later and I'll be just honest. Botting... ain't a bad thing. Unless you use it to be a twat and get stuff other people can't or stuff that's not available anymore. That's rather a low thing to do and then I can understand why bans can be issued. However... when A.E think that repetitive, tedious and inhumane grind is the way to go for some of the late-game stuff (VHL, L.R or NSoD being the most infamous examples) then I'll definitely bot. Been playin' the game for 11 years and let's be honest here: The challenge is facing something tough that makes you go YES when you succeed. Requiring people to farm entire months for 1 item is not such a challenge. I'll not spend hours after hours after hours mashing 1,2,3,4,5 and occasionally 6(I wonder if anyone uses potions) to get a thing for another thing and finally another thing for the main thing. (looking at you, Legion Revenant) But when you decide to actually add RNG into the mix (*cough* VHL) then no thank you. No matter how op LR and VHL are, I really suggest they reduce the insane amounts of grind by half or more. Especially since VHL has RNG thrown into the mix, which is rancid. Oh... and don't even get me started on NSoD. No matter how powerful they are, I really won't waste my time with such things. A bot can do that for me instead cos I got better stuff to do. Pretty much agreeing with an older comment below. In the old days, the grind was NOT so inhumanely tedious, monotonous and boring. Those who grinded these 3 items the fair way, I tip my hat to thee. But if other people really don't wanna waste weeks (even months) for these items, let 'em do whatever the hell they want. I'll still support the game by sticking to it even until the end (whenever it'll be, and if Aqw will ever die. Which I hope not cos it's still part of my childhood) and that's what should matter. But if I wanna bot because AE believed inhumane grind is the way to go because they apparently took inspiration from E.A's "Sense of Pride and Accomplishment" reddit post during the S.W Battlefront 2 disaster (we remember how well that one went...) be sure I'm gonna do it. If you want people to feel truly proud and accomplished for something... give actual challenges. Bosses like the Archfiend DragonLord, Ultra Carnax or Desolich... now those are challenges. Tie 'em to reasonable but still challenging quests and you got something much better than murdering Ultra Aeacus 2500 times just for 1/4 of the requirements (and not only poor Aeacus) THEN repeat the next quest 10 times then another quest an insane amount of times or repeating the Nulgath quests until you literally wanna do aaanything else. Or hey, you mentioned StoneCrusher. Just yesterday I got it (not with ACS) and I actually felt good about it. Cos the class itself feels worth all the trouble and time dedicated. But again, this is just my opinion. If you folks disagree, I understand it. Even so, good luck and have fun the way you want to.
I made my account in December of 2010. I played with like 10 friends and we did all of the quests together. That was the fun part. Now the game is dead and you do everything solo. For a new player they cant even do the chaos saga cause some bosses shit on beginner classes. I botted for LDK,Stonecrusher, Shaman ect. After that i stopped cause i could finally solo bosses and farm consitantly.
I thought how much I envied that they had the time to sit and mindlessly click for upwards of 12 hours in-game time and still get to hang out and show it, when I simply didn't.
anotherquiter this is the most rateable statement I’ve read on botting, couldn’t have said it better
Couldn't agree more! Btw, here's your 56th like sir!
the reason botting exists is to allow people who couldnt put in as much effort and time to actually get things that they want, which i felt, being jealous of my friend because they get to get something i couldnt.
Cool story pal. U should write a book about it. It is a good story in the aqw.life. from a different view.
omg related as hell..i literally read all of theseeeee..such a nice story :) have a good day
aqw would lose alot of players if they ban botting

I know a dude who uses a bot just so he can access his bank from anywhere he wants, and that's literally all he uses it for.
Free bank access xD
Yeah a lot of people like me bot but not for farming just for conveniency, like bank access, and getting seasonal items whenever I want, and fast travels, but not farming.
tbh i am against botting, but at the same time AE makes everything so hard to do that people arent just gonna waste like 1-2 months just for farming something such as void highlord. if AE didnt make it so hard to farm, maybe there will be less botters?
I agree with you fully. 1 month of grinding is too much for most people, that is why a lot of people bot.
You got a point bro..
Karson_ not just vhl
the farming in general is just pointless
I agree with you entirely. Yeah, the amount of farming time without botting is sometimes insane. As If AE expects everyone to bot to get certain items.
I agree I talked to a few mods about the matter they just make the boring excuse that "players are lazy and will always bot"
How to stop botting?change quest drop rates from random drop to an actual drop.
People will still use bots to level up or farm rep.
well that wouldnt really do lol what you said makes the game convenient so bots would make it a LOT easier
To stop botting they gotta make farming less boring and tedious, repetitive, etc
so many type's people use bot
1. Bot for item
2. Bot for have Fun
3. Bot for the full screen

4. Bot to use auto-relogin then automatically join yulgar to be afk after being disconnected from the server.

yep 2 years late, but here's my POV
Why I legit gave up farming and decided to move to botting.

Botting saves me time when i workout or while doing my work. It makes me have time for the game and other things.

The most accurate comment i have ever seen.
Do you do PvP, wars or ever interact with other players? Ever?
A little bit dramatic, but yeah, I completely understand your perspective.
Of course, if they bot again right after, it would be detected, the flag would be put on their character page again, and this time it takes 2 months of non-botting activity in order to remove it (and so on)
These are again, just short term solutions to lessen the amount.
Nice comment, i like and agree with your ideas.
the only reason why players bot is because kids and between 14-18 years players actually have schools, a life, a job and all. that is a 800% better excuse
I didnt read the entire damn essay but i understood the beggining
i hate.when people say they bot because they have a life bitch obviously u dont if u playing aq and got time to complain n download bots
Diallo OQuinn for real
#MakeAQWGreatAgain
botting is good..people who don't bot have no life probably unhealthy too
If they only have auto pilot system for farming and collecting stuff, imagine collecting 100 quest items with a 5-10% drop rate and hoping RNJesus will always at your side.
Or you know, they have a life. Unlike you.
Then dont play
@LinkCanBackFlip, lmao i won't play, my bot can play for me
Dimi Arts haha
well you're right sir, since people are busy with life and other things like working and studying.
Yup. We do!
currently a botting member
BOTTING ROCKS!!! NORMIES SUCKS!
If the new Client does not have anti cheat i will be pretty salty. AE is a video game company that has never implementing anti cheat software into their games like wtf sometimes it feels like they welcome the people to cheat.
Korey Artix is a child in a man's body. terrible lead.
korey AE wont have anti cheat because the majourity of the game are botters
Korey yea lots of people bot, if people didnt bot this game would be dead otherwise i dont bot tho
They have to accept that majority of their players are botters, they wont put anti cheat so they won't lose players, I bet artix knows this himself.
They should just keep AQWorlds a constantly updated game cause it's so much fun imo
Theres farming, and then theres tedious time wasting. I'm all for botting for that reason.
I'm just here reading the comments while using bot to level up
Its a matter of working smart than working hard, these kind of people succeed.
i bot for a good reason. i had a 8 year old acc that i spent my own money on and i got banned because i was accused for acc sharing with no evidence at all, so i feel like botting is OK if you have a reason behind it
botting is good..people who don't bot have no life probably unhealthy too
Im not a botter I'm lvl 73 and the name is Someprokid
I Am Nub Nub yeah I used to not bot as well, but my account was banned out of no where and AE refused to give it back when I emailed them
I Am Nub Nub I think you're lvl 73 in ROBLOX not aqw 😏
That's not even a reason to bot, tf
@@xyon9090 late as hell here but the days when you had to be social and team up? Even when the level cap was raised to 65.... Those days were life.
I loved that you covered this topic so well. The community needed a refresher, and a good quality video discussing the controversial topic. *My video on Botting is outdated* Good work man!
I just use quality of life stuff, respawning in the same room, lag killers, etc. Nothing wrong with improving the game in my opinion.
i LOVE BOTTING, IM DOING IT RIGHT NOW
I thought you joined that corrupted community but then I realized after listening to the first few seconds.
By the time i spend all my time and resources into a class a new one comes out and now you get stuck with a bad class and the cycle repeats without a bot.
they should fix low fps and lag
and this game would be totally fine
Abdurachman Guno it is because of the botters
bot is the only thing that made this game still breathes.
If you're botting then what is the point of playing the game.
botting is good..people who don't bot have no life probably unhealthy too
and besides stfu games designed in this way are cancer because they are really unhealthy and used as an excuse for antisocial people
Lol Haha Dead why are you playing it then?
Don't play it if you don't like it.
Also why would you need an "excuse" for being anti-social? I'm an extrovert and have a lot of friends I talk to in person but I still enjoy the game for when I'm at home and not exercising/hanging with friends. Just because I play AQW doesn't make me unhealthy/anti-social.
Morpyoto to show off
to keep away of habit of botting is to put a certain time or routine to farm those.... that's why I refer classes that is only daily quest type such as my favorite class for now: The Cryomancer class.
In my opinion botting is normal in games like this , preventing botting will take too much time and resource and I'm sure the developers will take that time and effort to look into something more interesting than this.
>game itself is boring
Ever considered not playing it then?
@@UmiZoomR but it becomes fun when botted lol
@@darkmatter3112
using something as simple as keyboard macros has made the game exponentially more fun. all i need to do when doing long tedious farms is check in my laptop every 5 or 10 minutes to turn in a quest then go do something else. gold and xp farm is even easier, check back every hour to renew a gold boost . AE needs to implement macros to the game somehow it makes it so much more enjoyable farming in the background
After getting void highlord by just botting but i must say it might not be as satisfying as getting it normally, but it sure is more satisfying than never getting the class at all.
this game is way too boring gameplay wise to be spending hours on in getting items. sorry m8 but im with botting.
If it's so boring for you, why bother playing it
Hiya Zypr0 here!
I come back after 2 years to the community and all this ** happend
(was renegade farming in testing server? couldnt tell.)
THIS is the longest contructive comment i made in my life so pls read EVERYTHING! (ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO BOT PLS)
Clearly the guy that said "F*ckers has no life" clearly has no respect for Ray
But his point on the money thing is justified. Its just how the argument was presented that was disgusting.
I have tried botting before. And from that experience, i can tell this. BOtting, for me is a horrible waste of my time because even if i can auto farm stuff, there are times that it disconnects (most of the time it disconnects w/o my attention) and it throws away all the dropped items on the screen. it doesn't really matter if you have auto-relog if you lose everything (EXCEPT REP, but rep is easy imo)
Which is BAD esp. for nulgath farmers. I've experienced disconnecting just as i try to claim that non mem voucher. (Believe me i cried inside for a bit)
HOwever yes, A LOT OF COOL IN-GAME ITEMS NEED TO BE FARMED (Im looking at YOU VHL
I totally agree.
I used to bot too its shit tbh.
Nice write-up. I appreciate the detailed comment you gave. I would be glad to have you on www.reddit.com/r/AQW/
Only reason the difficulty is through the roof is because botters. That's the one and only fact. I don't buy into this loyalty for the game argument.
Dante_ak74,
Hi man, my name is Matthew, and you just said what i needed to stop botting.
And tipically, sorry for bad english, i learned with AQW, so i hope that u understood all xD
Nickname: X ESTERMINADOR X
Hi matheus, I do not go online that much but my ign is the same as my yt user
Very good, well constructed discussion about the topic. You looked at both sides and also reasons why people bot, without making your opinion too obvious. I can also tell that you thought a lot about this video and did your research before putting the video up. Well done :)
this game needs diverse META, most ppl end up botting META
AQW was at its most successful during Chaos lord arcs, where you have 10-12 Servers up, and 15-20k player base at maximum peak at weekly releases. now it's quite rare to even see 10k, at max I think I've seen is 9.4k which was during this week (Frostwolf LQS release)
I miss the days where the chaos boss had their unique abilities much like
Escherion / Vath (Beat side kick before the boss),
Legermayne (Step on a certain platform to avoid death),
Khaasanda where you literally had to have a well organised full room, having lots of healers walking in and out of rooms to remove aggro, etc.
+FluFFKiN I Fair enough.
Ae wont do shit. So do you and continue botting! 😊😊
Ahmed it really only takes 8 hours to farm blaze binder if you do the right quest
@@idiotinabandanna8701 but you need Pyromancer which needs daily quest items to earn.
@@ayyyblyat6229 and the daily quest take a simple 2 minutes to complete and you can farm for other classes as well or do other stuff
the hardest part of the VHL grind is the motherfucking quest needed to be fucking done 15 times what the actual fuck
I used to disagree with botting back in the prime days of AQW; the current state of the game is making botting more incenting.
Great Video Renegade!! >.>
Thanks man :)
Im quite late and my comment will be extremely huge, but Ill tell you my approach, as a person who bot for good reasons
We all know that AQW is an extremely grindy game, ever since 2008, the quests were the same, like kill 8 enemies of the same type, drop a rare item and turn in, and this hasnt changed since today, to complete a quest chain, you need to kill dozens of enemies or click on some stuff, and sometimes you need to kill a boss, and this repeats over and over and over, its even more uninteresting than the original AQ, in which the quest chains were a single quest, you kill different enemies one by one and then you defeat a boss, now imagine doing it 7 times in a row (except for bosses- oh wait, Nulgath exists), anyway, the way AQW quests handicaps the player for the most part is attrocious, take Doomwood for example, when you finish the main quest chain, you end up with rank 7, and only the main quests gives you a fair amount of rep, as for when you end the quest chain, you still have near 300k of rep to rank up and the only quests avaiable gives you 200 rep, and by doing the math, you need to complete this same quest 1500 times to reach rank 10, and doomwood isnt even the most extreme example, as we have classes like stonecrusher and void highlord, so imagine you, you want to grind for a class, but you need to study/work, clean your house, play with your pet, satisfy your girlfriend, so most of the time, its not because the person has all the time in the world and is too lazy to grind, no, AQW players are human beings, they have lives, they dont have the time to dedicate themselves for a browser game, and despite it being done to "encourage players to buy AC/Member", things like these are very easy to backfire and generate unsatisfaction of the free players, cuz not everyone is able to buy those things due to them being just students who dont have bank accounts/paypal or something and their parents refuses to pay for online services and theres other people that are poor, like Everybody Hates Chris levels of poor, and they dont have conditions to spend money on a games alternative currency.
Due to AQW simplicity, any brainless person can create your own bot, since the skills are divided by numbers, the quests are divided by ids and the monsters are identified by their name, it becomes really easy to make your own bot, not to mention that if you dont look with utmost attention, you cant differenciate a real person from a bot, cuz in a gameplay perspective, youre doing the exact same as an AI does, except that youre not an AI, youre a human, who is wasting your time to do something that should be fun, but isnt due to the repetitiveness of the game, the most fun youll probably have is either pvp (but make sure you go with anything but rep classes, or else youll get stomped) or chatting with other people, kinda like a discord server, but everybody being represented as fancy 2D characters
bots can definitely log back in after shutdown
Very rare to see an aqw botting related video NOT getting dislikes like 50/50 rate. Well done renegade!
Stefan Sampang Thanks Stefan
Hey Renegade, I can't really see a problem with botters, but it sounds really bad. I use to be a botter, but I stopped. I didn't know it was hurting the company that bad. I'm sorry people of the AE community. I hope you guys can forgive me. Nice video by the way. It's good to get your opinion out there about this subject.
Mitho's Vids Thanks man!
botting is good..people who don't bot have no life probably unhealthy too
I wouldn't say you're wrong, but in my perspective I use bot just because there's school and it would take weeks or maybe months if I don't use bot since I am a pretty active player. But my point is that botting is really something that can help players get their dream classes. Sure it's unfair for others, but sometimes we have to enjoy the little things rather than use my time farming classes instead of studying or doing my homework. Again this is just my experience.
there is something on the bot called lag killer and hide player infinite attack range and that is why I like the bot
Take to considering botting does not sound that stupid anymore?
those two things are easily fixed but AE doesnt want to for the past 4 years or so
now why is it SO EASY?
1st by making farming for classes much EASIER but make their rank up system much HARDER by making them interact with fellow players on 1v1 pvp matches
2nd if possible add more slots in skill system and add a side class that helps the main class like in overlord ( yes its an anime)
this way supports my 1st point by making farming for certain classes main/side easier or harder.
3rd make leveling up a satisfaction like actually letting us decide on how many extra stats we choose to give on each level and to be balanced only on a specific class this makes it so leveling up has a fun and deeper purpose cause we can invest all the time we spent on farming a class.
Back in 2010 I never Hurd of botting
Want to know why i bot? Hey blade of awe thing is 0.01 percent drop and i been farming for 2 days and still it getting it.
I farmed 5days straight for like 4hrs a day for it
Got in finally.
Then i tried a random Mana Golem quest got the Voucher Non mem after the first turn in.
RNG is fun
Im also replying from a comment a year ago.
What's your oppinion on people who only bots when they are sitting at their pc, and looking at the screen at the same time? People who never uses their bot for anything else than stuff like killing bosses over and over again?
I'm watching this video while botting.
Bot Gone! AQW Gone!
ain't that the damn truth
oopsmash PREACH! 🙇🙇
Just add an auto pilot where it presses the skills for you and u turn in the quest
Gonna be honest here I have bot downloaded but the only thing I use is the general attack bot nothing else really shit gets boring hella fast
When you say you need to put in time in effort for stonecrusher, it's only time effort is gg
I do know a lot of players who do not buy perks and do not use bot, they even get the hardcore items without buying membership/pets ACS etc. to make the farming faster
2019/06 here anyone else xD i came accros this video because i was thinking of starting botting for Legion revenant class ( you need to kill more than 200K different monsters or whatever to complete those quests) but now after seen this i dont think amma go for it that way
do it. botting is a protest against the cancer farms and money skipping
Pls share this video with AE. you brought up great points that I haven't thought of yet. Nice vid.
Most people don't realize AE is just another business.
AE really needs to watch and listen to this video thoroughly
Renegade? How can u get banned from bot?like how do they ban you?
Sorry I'm just dumb
The main problem is that the grind is ridiculously hard, takes ages to complete, time consuming and the gameplay is boring.
Can I ask you something? Is exploiting a glitch considered cheating? for example the super fast spawn in maps.
I agree with you guys, im a botter my self. and im really sorry for doing it. IMMA STOP BOTTING
Doing what others have to work hard for? I mean it's really hard to spend some ACs for a class tho
What area is that?,you seem to be ranking up your class fast, could you give me the travel code (/join 'area')
Would you call using a key pressing script due to carpal tunnel botting?
I don't bot however I'm not against them if they are free players
I see so much people saying that farming is *hard*. No, farming isn't a very difficult thing to do at all. It's just very time consuming, depending on what you're farming. It just comes down to your patience to be able to sit through the farm is all.
Sit through it? Nah, just pay your 4-year old brother 5 pence to mash your keyboard. It's not like AQW's bosses require thought, anyways, as Renegade stated.
I did say farming wasn't a very difficult thing to do now, didn't I?
Yep. It's sad how AE tries to dump this terrible "end-game" content on us, calling it difficult.
You could probably go through 80% of aqw's bosses just mashing your keyboard with LC tbh
LC?
I'm botting while watching this video.
Also the one that made AQLite made a bot called "Cetera"
Been playin' the game for 11 years and let's be honest here:
The challenge is facing something tough that makes you go YES when you succeed.
If they only made the combat less boring, I think people would bot less.
