    Tornado alley is not shifting. Tornado alley exists because of geography. Hot humid air from the gulf of mexico mixes with cool air coming over the Rocky Mountains and creates the ideal conditions for tornadoes to occur. If the Rocky Mountains didn't exist, tornadoes would be no more prevalent there than any other area of the USA.

      *Sighs* you missed a PDS tornado warning. Also you missed a confirmed tornado that doesn't always mean a "Chase saw it" It can be confirmed by radar. Which means radar has confirmed debris in the Air. So from the radar site by looking at CC (Correlation Coefficient) and it has a deep blue matching with velocity it mostly likely means there's a tornado on the ground without a chaser with it. (Well there can be a chaser with it just not confirming it or reporting it) Also with anyone still reading a PDS Tornado warning means (Particularly dangerous situation) and a tornado emergency is basically the same thing except going for a populated area.

    Tornado alley stays in the same place, it’s the warm air from deserts in Mexico and southern Texas, Moist are from the gulf, and cold air from the northern states that produce it. It’s purely geography. And Dixie alley has always been there. No shifting whatsoever

  • @darylkupper9339
    @darylkupper9339 15 днів тому +2

    No, there is not a shift in Tornado Alley. There are other Tornado Alleys such as Dixie Alley, which has had its share of Tornadoes for a long time, there are violent Tornadoes in both Alleys. You can look back over history and see Violent Tornadoes in Alabama and Mississippi, just as you can with Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa.
    Also regarding Maryland and Tornadoes, MD has had them before, it is nothing new to the State, but it does not occur as frequently as in the Tornado Alleys. All 50 states have had Tornadoes. Some examples of past Maryland Tornadoes include:
    November 9, 1926, an F4 hit PA Plata, Maryland.
    The Frostburg tornado was the first ever recorded F4 in Maryland. Maryland had deadly tornadoes strike back in 1944 and 1929, but the Fujita Damage Scale has only been applied since 1950. This is the strongest tornado to have struck the State since 1950.
    April 28, 2002 La Plata was hit by another F4 Tornado.
    It is somewhat cyclical, with many factors that lead to which region is more active, if they are equally active, etc, such as El Niño or La Niña, there’s also a northern Pacific Temperate Oscillation, and the Gulf of Mexico that all have effects on the weather, everything from Tornadoes, to Hurricanes, to Rain and Snow.
    Part of Illinois, part of Ohio, and Indiana are actually in a separate "Tornado Alley," known as "Hoosier Alley." Part of Illinois is in Traditional Tornado Alley. It's not unusual for those states to have a lot of Tornadoes, for example the Tri-state Tornado, the 1974 Super Outbreaks which included the Xenia, OH F5 tornado, the Palm Sunday Outbreak, and many Tornadoes throughout the years.
    As far as a "Classic Tornado Season," Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa are also in the top number of Tornadoes. Iowa is number 2 on the list. Texas is number 1, but it is the largest state in Tornado Alley, and per square mile, it is Actually Iowa that takes the top spot. So, this has the characteristics of a classic Tornado Season, from that perspective.
    1908 Dixie Outbreak Dixie Alley with 1 F5 Tornado in Nebraska
    fourth-deadliest US tornado outbreak. Produced numerous violent tornadoes in the South East and the Great Plains
    Tri-state Tornado in March 1925 occurred during an outbreak which affected Traditional Tornado Alley, Hoosier Alley, and Dixie Alley
    Palm Sunday Outbreak April 10-12, 1965 Traditional Tornado Alley, Hoosier Alley, and Dixie Alley
    1974 Super Outbreak Tornadoes in Hoosier Alley, Dixie Alley, and the Carolina Alley
    the April 1924 tornado outbreak, the 1932 Deep South tornado outbreak, the 1936 Tupelo-Gainesville tornado outbreak, the April 1957 Southeastern tornado outbreak, the 1984 Carolinas tornado outbreak
    2008 Super Tuesday tornado outbreak

      If your going to correct someone with an attitude, at least try to be correct.
      Climate has nothing to do with tornado warnings or watches. Climate is the pattern of weather in a region typically over 30 years or more.
      A tornado watch will be issued if weather conditions are favorable for tornadoes. These can last typically over a few hours.
      The lowest level tornado warning is issued when significant rotation is spotted by spotters on the ground or through radar velocities. Once an actual tornado is in progress, the tornado warning will be upgraded to an observed tornado warning.
      There are even more serious tornado warnings after that including the PDS (particularly dangerous situation) and tornado emergency. There is a set criteria which must be met to warrant these upgrades to the warning which I am not entirely familiar with, but they account for tornado strength and population.
      Regardless, if you live anywhere in the US, pay attention to the weather and take all watches and warnings seriously.

    Make your own tornado in a jar.
    What you will need:
    A clear jam jar or similar see-through container with a screw-on lid
    Washing-up liquid or liquid soap
    Food colouring
    What to do:
    Fill up the container with water then add a few drops of the washing-up liquid and a few drops of the food colouring. Tightly screw on the lid.
    Swirl the container around in a circle lots of times and then stop. Inside you should see what looks like a tornado. It will slowly disappear as it reaches the top of the container.
    Tornadoes in the real world are made in a similar way, when cold and warm air combine and spin.
    So if you think about it mother nature is just playing on a much larger scale so climate change isn't really a thing when it comes to the making and forming a tornado

  • @momogal04
    @momogal04 12 днів тому

    Been said but I'll reiterate.
    Watch: Conditions for a tornado are favorable. "Better watch to see if a tornado forms."
    Warning: Radar has indicated that there is rotation that is likely to produce a tornado. "We are warning you that a tornado is potentially forming and could drop at any moment." This can be followed by "Radar confirmed" if radar is picking up debris signatures. Or "Spotter confirmed" if someone has a visual on it.
    Emergency: A life-threatening torndao is confirmed on the ground and headed towards a populated area. "This is an emergency situation. You are in severe danger from this tornado."
    Also remember that if a tornado looks like it isn't moving, yes it is, and you're in it's path.

      It's bc if everyone is trying to outrun a tornado, then it'll cause a traffic jam and more people will die as a result (hypothetically). In theory, you can outrun the majority of tornadoes EF3 or lower in an automotive vehicle provided you don't stop, but if everyone did it, there would be a lot of needless death. It's relatively safer to find shelter because of the driving conditions anyway.
      As for storm chasers, their jobs are literally to collect data and get the hell out of dodge. "Don't try to outrun a tornado in a car" is more or less just a general warning for the public to make sure it's safer for the storm chasers to escape after getting what they need (bc let's be honest, storm chasers are already in danger 95% of the time).

    Tornado Alley is not shifting, that's a misinformed theory due to misconceptions about how often tornadoes form in certain areas. Only reason it's "happening more often" is because we are starting to record more and more in those areas where beforehand we didn't even think about it bc of Tornado Alley.
    Tl;dr The frequency of tornadoes in Dixie Alley has very likely always been like it is today, we just never really paid attention to it due to the poor chasing conditions.
    (also note: most super outbreaks have occurred outside "Tornado Alley" than in Tornado Alley.
    1. 1871 St Louis tornado in Middle MS Valley
    2. 1874 Nov. Southeast outbreak
    3. 1875 March Southeast outbreak
    4. 1875 May Southeast outbreak
    ....... i could go on. We have records of every outbreak dating back to the 1860s to today, as well as a few records of tornadoes between 1643 to the 1850s.

    No it isn't. Dixie and tornado alley have both always been a thing. While we have only kept records of US tornadoes as far back as the 1950's there has been no significant changes to any of this based from then to now. Besides. 2024 clearly has shown that tornadoe ally is alive and well.

    This isn’t entirely accurate, and this is coming from somebody who owns their own weather company and is studying meteorology.

    what is a tornado doing in Maryland

  • @JALtravelsabout
    @JALtravelsabout 14 днів тому

    Warmer oceans are causing evaporation to occur more . This is causing more super cell ;which in return is causing more tornadoes and stronger hurricanes with intense flooding.

    • @ulfrinn8783
      @ulfrinn8783 2 дні тому

      So, is warmer weather creating more evaporation which would result in more humidity and rainfall? Or more droughts and deserts? Because alarmists have claimed both, and both cannot be true.

    • @JALtravelsabout
      @JALtravelsabout 2 дні тому

      @ulfrinn8783 Actually, it causes both at sea and on land, water is evaporated quicker on land causing droughts and then evaporated quicker in the ocean causing more violent storms

    • @ulfrinn8783
      @ulfrinn8783 2 дні тому

      @@JALtravelsabout That's not how it works. There's a reason the largest deserts in the world are in the coldest places on earth, and the densest vegetation is in the hottest.

    • @JALtravelsabout
      @JALtravelsabout 2 дні тому

      @ulfrinn8783 The problem is when you change those conditions, when the ice is gone you no longer have the biggest dessert and then when you dump all that extra water and trapped gas under the ice what happens then. This is about us changing the natural pattern and climate of our planet. This planet goes through natural changes but we as a species are speeding this process up dramatically. The science shows increased rainfall from storms around the globe not just in one area, more heatwaves have been recored and temperature records have been broken across the globe.

  • @brickx4106
    @brickx4106 15 днів тому +1

    It's not that tornado alley have shifted,
    with Global warming as the Planet warms, tornadoes will be more frequent, and stronger, not to mention pops up in new locations. I live in Maryland and we never usually get them, now they are more frequent as the years pass. You don't need a geological set up to get twisters.

  • @ronanbain1000
    @ronanbain1000 5 днів тому

    Wouldn’t it be possible to outrun a tornado though because you’re in a motorized vehicle that has a top speed of 100+ miles per hour and the fastest moving tornado was like either 70 mph or 130 mph but the usual tornado only goes about 40 mph maybe even slower and also highways traditionally have speed limits of 60 mph or higher

      Problem is a lot of people tend to build up traffic by “storm chasing” or trying to get to sturdy buildings. Also going that fast on wet roads with bad winds and potential hail is a major risk in itself.
