    There are a lot of things that annoy me about this line.

    Just trying to gauge interest, how many of you would be interested in viewing True Skate live-streams?
    If so, which of the following ideas to you like or dislike, or what ideas do you have?
    - Landing tricks requested by viewers for a session.
    - Working towards hard to obtain tricks for a full session (multiple sessions to potentially land, overachiever mode).
    - Mindless cruising to some music, map and trick requests accepted (just a chill stream). Fun fact, for whatever reason I dislike that usage of the word chill.
    - Because I can challenge (playing True Skate with a controller, mouse on PC with an emulator, on an iPhone 4, iPad, with a stylus, etc.)
    - Games of S.K.A.T.E with viewers through True Skate (True ID required) or side by side on stream collab with other True Skate players.
    - Camera? I don't love being on camera, but I'm not entirely opposed to it. You might be opposed to it after seeing what I look like though.
    - Voice? My speech (pronunciation and ability to say certain words) is mediocre, so sometimes it's easier to talk and other times it's not.
    - Day? Are there particular days/times that are preferred? I'm not always going to be able to stream due to life, but it gives me insight into what days are best.
    - Other games/streams? I could do anything from old 2010 era mobile games (Temple Run/Paper Toss), to CS GO, MX Vs ATV Reflex, BMX Streets, SNOW, Dirt 3, Halo CE, Minecraft, etc. Suggest anything you want, but I won't make any promises since it has to be a game that I'm interested in too.
    Even weird flash/unity games are amusing.
    I'm not 100% sure if I am going to do streams or not, but just figured I'd plant the idea and write down some of what I had in mind. Leave some ideas if you want, or simply state whether this would interest you or not.
    Day your enjoy!

      practice seeing how long you can balance stationary
      practice doing a manual from line to line
      practice doing manuals across manual pads
      practice doing manuals across manual pads multiple times in a row
      practice doing tricks in/out or both
      practice doing manuals up/down transition
      practice all of these things everyday
      might seem extreme, but it's the only way. It's the trick that I do the most often and I've been playing nearly everyday since 2014, so that's how I got good at them.

      i got them by messing around with values in the game files on a jailbroken iPhone, should work on Android too with an APK re-packer.
      I forget exactly how I did it but if you have a jaibroken or rooted device I could probably find the file or figure out how I did it again and send the info.

  • @Zottification

    Still not clear to me how to deal with ramps, pipes, like at 0:27. I don't understand how to make a good ollie, get out from it with proper altitude, and do some tricks, maybe a good spin, like 360. I often arrive with good speed, but not easy to jump, generally I waste all the speed, and get almost nothing. Maybe you can explain where to put the fingers and how to move them to make a good ollie and trick? Thanks!

    • @snowzZzZz
      @snowzZzZz  3 роки тому

      Sorry for the late reply, meant to do it earlier but forgot.
      Make sure ramp tilt controls is enabled in settings, and tilt back on the device at the face of the ramp when you pop for the trick, the board should stay in the ramp. Experiment With how hard you tilt back, how early/late you tilt/pop, and experiment without tilting back as well (riding up the face of the ramp doing nothing, no inputs or swipes at all, experiment with how early/late you pop, anything that your curious about just try it and observe what the board does and why it behaves that way.
      I don't mean to overcomplicate it, but that's the secret to the game. Trial/error, observe, repeat.
      Another thing worth noting is certain flip tricks or board maneuvers are particularly difficult on transition, nollie tricks for example since you loose surface area fast on the front of the board when the board tilts forwards or backwards.
      For a 360, ride up to the quarter pipe, then tilt back, swipe as you would for a shove-it, and hold spincam at the same time. That's my process.

    this game is literally the embodiement of pay to play

    • @snowzZzZz
      @snowzZzZz  2 роки тому

      Sure, but buying everything in this game is still cheaper than buying a $60 console game, and the limit is your imagination, not the included story line, multiplayer servers that will be abandoned when a new game is released, and DLC.
      That is also about to change with the upcoming update, all parks will be purchasable using bolts that you earn by playing. Of course the option to buy bolts exists, and collecting them takes a while, but the option exists, and again the value is as good as your imagination. I still find new things that I haven't done before on underpass and I've been playing since 2014.
      Lastly, pay to play is a term better used for games that make you pay to get good. Better weapons, perks, etc.... Getting good in this game is all dependent on how much you practice, there is no pay wall behind that.
      Also, developers gotta eat, they have houses to pay for, families to feed, they do this for a living, and they do it out of passion. Becoming a game developer and creating something niche like a skateboard simulator is not something that you do because you want to get rich.
      Anyways, sorry for such a long reply, didn't mean to overwhelm you, from the perspective of a new player there are a hefty amount of things you have to pay for. My main point is that it looks worse than it is, compared to most games this game is cheap.

      You need a jailbroken device where you can navigate through directories and modify/change values for files. I plan on doing a video in the future (I'e said this for a while now and never done it, hopefully soon), on how to do this since explaining in text is a bit of a pain. If you happen to have a jailbroken device I could attempt to leave written instructions, but I do plan on making a video explaining how to do this eventually, I'll experiment with doing it on android too since that would't require modification to the device (jailbreaking/rooting).

    What are some tips and recommendations you’d give to players like me? I don’t know this’ll sound stupid to you, but I’ve been playing this game for a year now and haven’t been able to do simple grinds from an ollie. I can really only do a board slide on the minimum.

    • @vance5564
      @vance5564 5 років тому +2

      at maximum* sorry

    • @snowzZzZz
      @snowzZzZz  5 років тому +1

      Practice it until you get it. Mess around with how the board moves in the air, the height of your pop (if on realistic mode), and develop a feel for how the board will respond with every input. Once you understand how the board should respond, it's all about piecing together the correct inputs (swipes) to perform the trick, and repeating the sequence until it becomes second nature. I might actually do a video on this at some point, not just trick tutorials but different techniques for developing overall board control.
      Purposeful grinds are nothing more than aiming for an obstacle, doing a high enough ollie, positioning the board correctly in the air, holding it, and exiting (slide off/pop off). Practice each of these components, piece it together, and if all goes well things should become easier for you.
      Hope that helps, and no it doesn't sound stupid at all. I along with a lot of others post the clips that turn out good, but behind the scenes there are a lot of missed grinds and fails that go into each clip. When I first started playing no grind was intentional, it was swipe and prey, lol.

      @vance5564 5 років тому +1

      BlackSn0wz thanks. Ive been playing on realistic mode recently and id say that ive gotten pretty good at nollie to crooks on benches as well as tre flips to tail slides

    • @brettperry3737
      @brettperry3737 4 роки тому

      @@vance5564 just to expand on what he said; the way I finally figured out how to get control of my board, was by barely flicking it. And by "barely" I mean so lightly that the board doesn't even complete its rotation, or reach the rail, etc....
      Then gradually increase your flick speed until there's just enough power for the trick to land clean even if you didn't catch the board. Then repeat it a couple hundred times. Do that with a few different tricks and after awhile you'll build up your muscle memory, and your brain will just automatically put the board where it needs to go regardless of what you're trying to do.

    Late but how did u get so good I’ve been a casual player of this game for a while and I’m not nearly this good

    • @snowzZzZz
      @snowzZzZz  4 роки тому +4

      Depends on how you play, for me as of late I play more casually so there's an emphasis on refinement over learning new things. When I used to play a lot though, my mindset was always to learn something that I haven't done before, or to improve on an existing skillset, so by doing that I inherently developed an ability in certain things. Can't climb higher if you don't reach higher, but it's also incredibly frustrating spending hours straight trying to do something, so putting yourself through that really depends on how good you want to become at the game.
      In short, every ability I have in the game was developed through trial and error, or trying new things and seeing if I could land them. Some things came easier than others, but anything I didn't feel like I could do I would spend as much time as needed to make sure that I could then do it. I've been playing a while also, since 2014 late 2013 I think, but the larger factor is how I spent each minute playing the game, which was as I described above. Edits are a great way to track progress by the way, as each time you make an edit you can visibly see your progression.
      I could write a lot more but this comment is already getting kind of long, lol. Just note that playing wasn't always fun because of how focused I was at getting better at times, but the reward of landing a trick that took countless hours for me is always worth it, so again it all depends on your goal. I try and separate casual playing from improvement sessions now so that I don't burn myself out.

      @snowzZzZz  4 роки тому

      If you are familiar with spincam and you just don't know how to use it for changing stance, try this. Hold down the spincam button and try rolling forwards then try rolling backwards, notice how the camera doesn't change direction. Experiment with this for a while and you'll figure it out (180 then keep spincam pressed for example).
      Note: To have the camera not pointed at the ground for rolling backwards this only works for replays, you have to disable spincam before viewing the replay for this to happen.
      If you are completely unfamiliar with spincam, make sure you have spincam enabled in your settings (go to settings, HUD, then enable spin cam. Button position can be configured further down this page as well). In your main playing area spincam will show as two circular arrows pointing to each other, mess around with that as mentioned above and you should be able to get the hang of it.

      All my board controlled is handled by my right index finger, swiping for speed with my right middle finger, and left thumb for spincam.

    Deffinately using slo mo

      Slomo is more difficult, less rewarding, less fun, and pointless. There is no reason for me to use it, therefore I do not.

      He's not using slow mo. He's just really f'n precise with the speed and direction of his flicks.
      The controls are extremely pressure sensitive. And people have a tendency to go nuts with it, and are constantly trying to time their landings on a board that's out of control (I know I did). It's not an easy habit to break, but you just have to force yourself to start over and relearn the game. The best way to correct it is to play in such a way that your missed tricks come from the board being under-rotated, never over.
      After practicing for a week or so, the difference in how clean your lines look will be night and day.

      Subjectively, it's not like everyone shares this experience. It also depends on how you play the game along with what your expectations are.
      Visuals are also less important than physics when it comes to simulators, although a graphics boost would be a welcome addition (maybe sometime in the future).
