Thor Range Update! The Sauga is over! Third Time Is A Charm.

- In today’s video I discuss the issues with a brand-new Thor oven/range. This was purchased through Idlers and installed by Idlers. The door has never closed completely. Service techs have come out twice to try to fix it. Several months of this headache and still no solution. The oven is absolutely brand new costing over $3000. Should I go to Home Depot?
Update: Thor sent out an identical range. And now the new range is doing the exact same thing.
UPDATE: THOR Installers  came from five hours away to install a third and final range. They installed it correctly, and we couldn’t be happier! 
Many people are complaining that the controller knobs are blistering. I would assume that’s from the heat of the door is not closing all the way. This sounds like a large problem.

Okay, thank you I want to order a Thor range and I'm glad they are helping you out in this situation. I will make sure they remove the door and handle before they install it
Glad the issue was resolved. I am looking forward in getting one for my kitchen. I am shocked that the installers lifted and moved the range by its weakest point. No doubt that is what caused the damage. Looks awesome.

Although lifting the oven by the handle is not a good thing to do, I think the issue was that when the door was open someone put too much weight on it. There is much more torque on the hinges when the door is open and they can be bent easily. If the issue didn't show up for 4 months after the first oven was installed, I think it is unlikely it was damaged during installation.
I've had one two years - large burner dead. Blue burner on light stays on all the time.
How do you level the back of this range?

How is your Thor range working after a year?
I have a thor kitchen which the oven door does not open. What's your suggestion?
Boil or saute dinner on a burner. You can make dutch over bread on top as well.

Does it fit 2 12” pans front to back ?
Looking at the 30”. Is the metal heavy--cook temps good? I’m so nervous that I will spend the money and it will not cook well, easily scratch, flimsy….ugh!
We're having our 30" range replaced after 6 months of problems. Wide swings in oven cook temp from day 1 and the problem has continued after two factory service calls (which took weeks to schedule). Now the oven won't even light (one week before thanksgiving!). we love the look/design of the range but the build quality is awful. Tried third-party independent repair (a guy we have used for 10+ years) he said the only thing the range is good for is a boat anchor! and declined to work on it...Lowes is going to refund the purchase, but back to the drawing board...
@@michaelrichard1814 duel fuel or gas only? I hear the duel fuel ovens are the best for any oven since it is electric, which makes it easier to regulate heat.
It's a restaurant stove adapted for home use. Get a Kitchenaide if you want a trouble free appliance. Thor is a specialty, high end appliance that needs maintenance a lot.

1 year after the last post . Thor quality is still terrible, customer service is still indifferent . ours has been leaking gas for 3 months with no resolution in sight . service tech said the oven insulation is also missing . do not buy Thor .
Good luck....wait a few years when the oven ignitor burns out becasue the burner melted. The two parts are not common like you would get with Viking, are not readily available/back-order and will cost you at least $300 not including the service. Similar parts for competitors will cost less than $60 and shipped in within days.
