I love your travels on Not Thursdays. Being able to ramble and commune with nature is a true gift that I miss since being laid up. You give me a chance to do so in your beautiful mountains and I thank you.
What a fantastic place to explore and hike in, thank you so much for taking us along. The power of water over time certainly makes some wonderful shapes in the rocks and the landscape and it is so beautiful there. We have no falls around here though in the past Terry and I have hiked to see some beauties and I haven't forgotten the magnificent surroundings they are in. I do enjoy your Not Thursday videos Charlie, the chance to go hiking again is such a wonderful treat. Take care my friend, good luck and happy hiking Mary-Ellen LFOD
Thanks for taking us along with you, I love the natural fish pass at the first water fall and that bomb hole was something else, wasn't until you jumped into it I had any idea of scale!
Who would ever think I could say I went to Purgatory with Charlie and enjoyed it?! ...ha ha ha... All joking aside, that was truly stunning Charlie, and worth all of your efforts. The gorge was surreal with all of its twists and curls and sink holes made by the flow of the water. Simply marvelous and truly breathtaking to see. Thanks for taking us along on such a wonderful rambling adventure. This was another great Not Thursday! Have a great day!
hey Digger Charlie didn't have time to comment this morning when I first watched ,so watching a 2nd time to leave a comment awesome falls ,great exploring charlie , I learn so much watching your video's ,always look forward to watching stay safe and good luck on your next adventure (BIG thumbs up from Alaska )
Welcome to my backyard! Lots of great finds detecting back there in the early 90s. Not far from there is a great site of an old sawmill that perished during a flood in the early 1900s, the stonework that’s left is amazing. In town on a hilltop stands the foundation for the Grand Hotel. They used to take guests to the falls and back a few times a day during the summer months. Along the way on a certain day every year the coach would stop in front of a certain residents home nicknamed “ The Hermit”. He would grow his beard all year long and on this day as a large crowd gathered he would thrill them by lighting fire to his beard and burning it off only to be showered in pocket change and applause.
I used to go-to a camp ground right in the same area. We would goto the falls all the time, I've been in that hole, I don't remember the carvings but I was also about 10 years old
Might want to try Stoddard, just north of Keene, better known as the land of the big rocks, Stoddard lake, has huge largemouth bass, and some of the dirt roads will give you many 1800 cellar holes to explore, not to mention old homestead dumps!
Hi Charlie 😊 Amazing hike with great features! I've been following your channel for about a month now and you've inspired me to follow the trail and rock walls seeing where they lead. I live in South East Massachusetts and hiked many local trails, but you've given me a new set of eyes to see what lies beyond the trail. Thank you so much for your inspiration and wealth of knowledge. Have a great week my friend ☺️🍅
That was great! I haven't been there in about 24 years. Isn't there a spot there called the devil's footprint, and another called the bean pot? Maybe you were in the bean pot? It's been a while, but I think that was what my sister told me. I think she had a story to go along with those spots that explained how they came to be as well.
Looks like a great hike and awesome rock formation! Have you ever been to the Pacific Northwest? I'm from Washington State, we have a lot of waterfalls, Cascade Mountains and 5 active Volcanoes. If you ever do decided to go, I can show you around or make recommendations for West Coast Stuff.. You can check out some of my adventures on my channel if you'd like.
That has got to be raging in the late spring 😲 I never think about there being a lack of rain in the New England states. It's my southern thinking I guess 🤷 Thanks for the hike and the sightseeing. It was great. See you soon Digger Charlie 👍
Next time check out the top of the first falls. There is a 'devil's footprint' in the stone. You can only see it (safely) when it is low water. Hence the purgatory name.
Thanks for letting me tag along. I miss walking in the New Hampshire woods. Did a lot of hunting up on green mountain back in the day. 😎👍
Thanks for taking us along. Love to watch your hiking adventures!
awesome video!! Just beautiful. Reminded me of my youth in Western NY. I loved the peace and noise of nature.

I loved the scenic views of the slow water, the walking area, the huge rocks, the drops, the humongous sounds of the rushing water...WONDERFUL!
Outstanding!!! I really enjoy these hiking exploration videos. What beautiful colors of the leaves. Paradise!
Have you gone to Pulpit Rock in Bedford? I recommend both a fall visit, and a winter visit. When the waterfalls freeze.....man... you'll see.
Just one word - Beautiful. Love Not Thursdays.

I used to go-to a camp ground right in the same area. We would goto the falls all the time, I've been in that hole, I don't remember the carvings but I was also about 10 years old
Awesome place to hike. Its about an hour from me. Ill be checking that out. Nice vid!
That first falls would be a heck of a whitewater rafting ride! Wow, just imagine. A matchstick raft ride, haha!

I heard about this place years ago.. i have always wanted to go..someday I will go...

that place is awesome.
Definitely a dry season for us. No rain in late summer made for dull fall colors.
Nature's carving ✌
Excellent hike

This reminds nee of sculptured rocks in Hebron N.H. I'd like to check this place out
That is amazing
That hole in the granite that you jumped into is called the devil's beanpot !!
Had a lot of fun living in NH, Milford,Amherst, Brookline. Of course I was 21 y/o🙄
Thanks DC

So glad to see you this AM.
What a beautiful place! Thanks.
Beautiful area!
I've only seen the signs from the nearby road but one day when in the Milford/Amherst area.
I envy your freedom … my job slows me way down :) but atleast I get to watch your adventures
wow. can you imagine the deluges over the years to scrape that gorge out
Enjoyed!!
Those carvings tell you that many times in the past the water was as low as it is now.
falls in the fall with a spring in his step A perfect way to enjoy a Not Thursday ….except after hearing all the running water ummm I gotta go pee
That has got to be raging in the late spring 😲 I never think about there being a lack of rain in the New England states. It's my southern thinking I guess 🤷
Thanks for the hike and the sightseeing. It was great.
See you soon Digger Charlie 👍
Beautiful country
Thanks for taking us along
Wonder what your detector would pick up in the holes or gorge
In my town of Milford.
you should try a prospecting video
Lots to see and lots of cupholders! 😂
do you ever metal detect Land fill or back fill land.? and is it worth doing it.??
Too short. Beautiful country.

Would bear hibernate in those caves?
How did it get the name purgatory (hell) falls?
MY KIND OF HEAVEN N HELL
a few people have died trying to climb that in winter.
Mission: To carve Charlie's name, date, and number into the stone.
On my way now.
You should have stopped and had coffee~
