    I'll tell ya…Danny seems like such a nice guy and is so down to earth. It's awesome that a business owner really seems like he cares greatly about getting his customers and the DIY community the best sounding speakers at price points that almost everyone can afford. I appreciate him very much and you guys also for going there and bringing us a great video! Thanks all of you!

    Finally rewatching this series after visiting Danny last month. And while I only got to hear the NX-Tremes, I'm still in awe of that system, as a whole. The servo subs kick serous booty, and the NX-Tremes, even on 8-9W of power is more than enough to rock out to. They have every bit of clarity, soundstage & imaging & detail you could ever ask for, without ever being fatiguing. It's as close as you can get to a personal live performance as tho you can reach out and shake the performers hands. The NX-Tremes sounded "effortless" in everything they did, never breaking a sweat or straining under the pressure. It was difficult to describe at the time, but has made more sense as I've talked about it to others that have also experienced Dannys setup.

    Danny is right on with his assessment of the amplifier's break-in, the Miflex coppers will definitively need a lot longer time to fully open up. Especially the bass department will improve a lot. The bass energy and extension will be quite a bit more impressive... I am glad that NRD took on Danny's invitation, I was looking forward to it! Thank you NRD, Danny -- Janos

    I've been running Danny AV series for my HT setup for at least 10years. Very good sounding speaker and a great value. Also had the Paradox Ones which was one of his original offerings with the Focal tweeter powered by a Dodd tube amp and preamp in my 2 channel system. I'm glad he's getting more exposure besides just the diy forums.

    My brother and I were there a few weeks ago to pick up parts for my NX-Tremes / triple subs order. I originally wanted the NX-Oticas because of Ron's videos about them, but I upgraded to the NX-Tremes because of Tyson's review of them on AudioCircle. I bought them on faith. I heard them for the first time with a 10W chip amp connected, since Danny hadn't finished his 300B amp. We were blown away by the sound. I'm happy to see how blown away the Brenay Brothers were with Danny's rig. Danny is the real deal.

    Nice setup. I’ve build my own Dodd buffer/pre and it’s a giant killer. One note about this setup; it’s a 5-6K towers/subs rig that you need to put together yourself. For that kind of $$$ there should be an option of already assembled system IMO. Without finishing process (paint job etc) ofcause. It looks interesting but I would only be interested if above option was a possibility.

      @Mariusz Stark
      I agree. Unfortunately, Danny doesn't have the equipment, time, or resources to offer completed speaker & subwoofer systems.
      He's also stated in other videos that doing so would not be profitable to his core business.
      However, he can refer you to independent builders or suppliers that can complete the kit that you purchase.
      You can also search your local area to see if there are individuals of shops that will build & finish the enclosures and install all of the drivers & XO components for you.
      Of course, this usually ends up being much more expensive, and in most cases completely negates the cost advantages of DIY kits. :-(
      I think if he had enough volume of sales with his various kits, he might be able to find a steady "independent contractor" to supply this service. Just know that this part of the speaker system usually is much more costly than the drivers & XO components themselves.

    If you like it analogue, try using Tidal through the "Amarra Luxe" bit-perfect music player client. It is bit-perfect BUT it has a certain flavor nontheless that makes it sound MUCH more tubular, 3 dimensional, in-room with greater stage depth and presence. The notes are lit from within, so to speak. Really do try it, the difference should be immense through a super resolving system like this one. I can't go back to regular Tidal or any other bit-perfect program.

I have NX-Treme flashbacks on practically a daily basis after hearing them last spring. Hand of God, angels trumpets...yeah, all that stuff. Tubes are like Harley's they're archaic , audio people are looking for "clean , flat , neutral , fast" etc and its not gonna come from a tube , so why build a speaker as accurate as possible in a lab when the amps are not . Give me a Bryston 4B amp its ruthlessly clean . I enjoy watching Danny and many other designers of high caliber gear but if they're doing a demo with tube gear then I'm walking .

    To get the same sound with gear that isn't setup to run on dc battery power get a ps audio powerplant. It takes wall ac converts to dc and then generates a perfect sine wave. Expensive products but oh boy do they make a difference!

    • @bbfoto7248
      @bbfoto7248 4 роки тому

      @badd99
      There are many computer system UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) units available that do the same thing for much less money. These are usually UPS units designed to be used on computer servers.
      They take the AC mains power, then completely convert it to DC, then back to AC in the form of a pure sine wave. They are typically referred to as "Pure Sine Inverter" units.
      But if the audio components you chose can be directly powered via DC from an isolated battery or battery bank as the main power source, that will be the ultimate "clean" power source.

    Then after that we can talk about equipment usually we need a dedicated room..
    (It is pointless to think that we can get to the excellent state by switching equipment in and out and skipping the basics.)
    Maybe Danny:s room is not the most heavily treated room. But I guess that he has of course measured it and treated those specific frequency and ranges that just that specific room needed?
