Streets of Rage 1 and 2, Castle Of Illusion w/Mickey Mouse, NBA Jam, World Series Baseball made the Game Gear shine. There was also an available TV tuner and the Master Gear cartridge allowed it to play all the Master System games. I had the AC adapter for mine so I hardly ever needed batteries. Had to stop taking it to school because it was always being targeted for theft and not really enough time to enjoy it at school.
Alright, fair enough...GB is the winner. Both Shinobi games are better action games than anything GB had. Batman Returns on the GG was amazing. The Mickey Illusion games were pretty good. They did have a Shining Force game, which I don't know if GB had something similar. Plus, you could actually play Master System games on the Game Gear. All that said...I ain't mad at ya! Good vid!
Gamegear was definately worth the two extra batteries, plus there was a AC adaptor people could get, I don't even compare the regular gameboy, to Gamegear, because it looks so bad. The Gamegear graphically beats the crap out of Gameboy color too. Just Compare any MK on GBC to MK 2, or 3 hell even part 1 on Gamegear, and Gamegear still looks much better.
You're definitely missing some of the best GG games. Nomad was not practical.. the batteries lasted like 4 hours and you ended up playing it plugged into the wall.. so not very practical.. game boy was a better designed system because it was truly portable..

If you buy a modded game gear where the battery lasts longer then the Game gear is better than the Gameboy color but not better than the Gameboy advance

I don't understand why you would compare one of the worst Sonics on GG with the best Mario on GB? You should have kept that one fair and compared Sonic one with the first Mario land game. Both Sonic 1 and Mario land are trash. If you wanted to use Mario land 2 you should have compared that to Sonic Chaos. Sonic at least has his spin dash. GG would win that comparison in my opinion. There is one more thing that I want to point out. the Gameboy takes 4 AA batteries not 2. the Gameboy did get better battery life with the 4, but most people had the power adapter for the GG. if you had a model 2 Genesis the same power brick worked on the Gamegear.
Pretty sure the GameBoy ran on four AA batteries, not two.

Yes 4 for the game gear but it get longer life out of 2AA with a old cell phone charger. It’s funny how that works 😃
