I love this airplane, what a magnificent work of art. If you haven't, you should definitely try this in VR. I had a nighttime departure with the beautiful city lights slowly moving further away from me as I climbed. With VR, it's like you're in the captain's chair. It's an incredible feeling.
Hi! Great video. Quick question though; @14:30 you mention that "and I've now pressed the button to interrupt our commanded VNAV constraints" (which seems to been actually been pressed @14:20 which is when we started to climb away from the SID constraint of 6000')-- which button did you press?
Yeah it takes a few moments for it to kick in but flying whilst commentating can be a bit busy at times! It's the button in the middle of the altitude knob - push it in, or you could use FLCh too if you wish or even V/S mode if you fancy it
@@BritishAvgeek Oh yes, I see. It didn't look like the altitude knob also had momentary push button functionality. All these planes coming out, either updates or new ones (I just finished your short video on the F28 Fellowship), I am going to have to pick one of them at a time to learn otherwise I'll be overwhelmed. Thanks!

Flying this new Boeing 787 after the update was impossible for me, compared to how I used to do it before the update. Listening to UA-camrs talking about the new start procedures was also frustrating. Because they talked too fast. Your more leisurely Pace, will actually help me learn how to fly this updated aircraft. Still not happy they took away the easy start process from the runway.
It's in the early phase of the new version post-AAU2 so hopefully they bring that feature back soon for folks who like to spawn on the runway. Hope you find these tutorials easy to follow and helpful 🙂
@@BritishAvgeek using your tutorial, I was able to figure out how to setup my trip in world maps using the high-altitude waypoints. Once I started the game and remove the discontinuities. I could actually set it for a flight and it would follow the course to my destination again. That way I could avoid all the start-up stuff, and just take off from the runway.

That's pretty cool, I don't have a VR headset myself but if I do get one in future I'll be sure to try it out
Great instruction! Thank you for these videos!
You're welcome!
Thank you very much! This is my second long haul and youve helped me a lot!
Nice to hear! Where did you fly and how did it go?
@@BritishAvgeek yooo, i actually just finished my flight. i started it today at 1am from Madrid to Shangai!
@@yandrey nice, straight in for a long haul!
Hi. Sorry if this is a silly question.. How do you break the restrictions of the VNAV… I couldn’t see which button you had pressed.
Many Thanks

@@TheLifetraveler1 good to hear 🙂
Sorry just noticed you have already answered this 😂
How did you adjust the stab trim?
