That large tank is of course original but no r69s came equipped with it from the factory, it was some r60´s that had those tanks, at an extra cost of course. Beatiful bike.
I had a 1966 just like that in the early 70's, it was great & I wish it was still mine.!!!!! Wish you would of stepped BACK a bit, a few times.!!! To many close ups &. Not enough overall view to enjoy.
Nice, but my 68 was as nice if not better. Not a point of brag, but fact. . Mine wasn't "rescued" from the original owner, a German tourist . I bought it from him in Reno Nevada in 1980 after his tour of Canada and the US. Original leather Denfeld bags. More factory chrome goodies such as the headlamp guard and taillight guard. Whisker mirrors off the headlamp, crash guards etc. A flawless machine which did not have to be taken apart. I sold mine to a collector in San Francisco and bought a mint 1969 R69US. I also had a 1965 R69S "daily driver". I sold it to a guy who rode it to Texas where he restored it. I have owned a total of 15 BMW bikes. My favorite(s) R60/5 and my 1986 Paris Dakar. Don't be so quick to dismiss other people who may have similar experiences who are not "flippers".
In 1969 I was going to buy a 1964 R69S with sidecar, 8 gal? Tank, big seat, luggage. All the options....But $1000 was stolen so......bike was $1400.... I bought a 1962 Citroen.
This machine was well cared for over all the years and kept indoors. We just used a good cleaning compound and the did a polish. I like to use mequiars products. Great motorcycle!
Looks like the guy is kinda green.. The Petcock was turned in the off position before the start up??? Gas was in the lines thats why it started but there is no way in hell that bike could run for very long in the petcock position.. OFF. Lol!!!
6.09 minutes for a BMW for a BMW cold start. Rubbish. It was pre-warmed if my experience of my R80/7 is anything to go by! Beemer flat twins are notorious for not wanting to start from cold. Joking aside, nice bike.
Wow what a beautiful machine, they certainly knew how to make motorcycles those days.
It is absolutely a flawless BMW R69 that jumped out from HEAVEN!! Cheers from Jakarta, Indonesia, South East Asia
The bees knees, in my day. So quite, refined, jusr look at the beautiful finish, mudguards, etc a gem...
Ein Glück das noch viele erhalten sind, ohne Worte ❤❤❤👍👍👍

I was born in 1956 and that was and is my dream motorcycle

Dig those front signals with duel lenses on the bar ends .. freggin Germans
the two dislikes didn't like the aftermarket fuel cap.

I personally cringe every time someone spells BMW like bíííemmdabya.

Great bike btw
My family owned R ५० is still in running condition.
I have restored more than 10 bikes, some even built in 1939. I wonder how did you clean the color that looks absolutely perfect???

Incredible to see a bike like that looks for all intents and purposes, brand new! How much was it sold for in the end?
Grandpa's BM is cool.
I took the harmonic balance off of my R-69-S because it just caused trouble.
I don't understand why a horizontally opposed engine would need a harmonic balancer.
Dream Diction I imagine it's because while one piston is at the top of the cylinder, the other one is at the bottom.
My ex roommate had one of these.
How could clasic motor like e brand new😱
R69S or R69US?
How can you leave tires from the 60's on it. It's a safety issue. They must be hard as stone by now. They will have no grip anymore.
why not change the title to the correct model designation? Great bike and video.
Well dog - gone...guess I missed that...thanks for the note.
one of the best bikes ever my friend lucas has one and let me drive it amazing bike

That is an original EVERBEST Petcock & the fuel was OFF in the down position before he moved to on in the lateral position. This is not a Honda!
Drove daily my R69S back in the 70's. Fuel valve off, lever in backward position, on is down and forward is reserve position.
@@timwilkson7637 Doesn't "ZU" mean "ON" in German ?!.
@@Cricri761000 ZU is off in German....AUF is on
