It really comes down to what ecosystem you bought into. I bought into Milwaukee for a reason therefore I have the Milwaukee fan and I am very impressed. I actually use the fan at my house for when the power goes out. I get 17 hours minimum run time out of one battery. Rigid is very hairy homeowner and so is Ryobi. The Milwaukee fan has the AC adapter so you can run it on AC power just like all the rest. I prefer the detachable AC adapter that Milwaukee includes because I don’t want a captive cord on my portable battery fan. The whole point is to be able to run it on battery therefore I want the option to use the cord when I want and therefore I don’t want it to be on the fan all the time because that’s a huge pain in the ass

Don't know if you've already made your decision, but Home Depot is having a Ryobi Days deal where you can get two 4ah batteries, a charger, and a bag with a free tool for $99, the fan is one of the options you can choose, so are a variety of lights.
Excellent review. I have Dewalt 20v and Mlwaukee m12 batteries. I do like the cord option, but I also have a soft spot for the m12 lineup. Maybe I'll just wait for a killer deal on one of them.
That Milwaukee is now 3 years older than it’s old ass back when this video was made and they never updated the base to fit 9.0 or the 12.0 HO battery. I own 2 for many years now. Lots of use. They are very durable. If only the batteries would last as long as the fan. I have two partial 9.0 and one 12.0 battery. I’ll be adding a Hercules fan eventually with their low cost batteries and much better warranty. Be interesting if EGO made a fan using their huge batteries as the base. Run time would be extreme. I also use the fan at night in a room. I don’t mind loud though. The white noise helps me sleep. Great review thanks.
The DeWalt fan lasted me all night for 3 days on high with a 9.0ah battery on night jobsite, gotta say that little badboy really lives up to it 's toughness
The run time for the milwaukee on high sucks. With a 6ah high output it runs for like 4 and a half hours on high. Some might say that's great but not to me . I hear the dewalt blows more air and has longer run time than the milwaukee. I only use high because here in the bahamas it reaches sometimes nearly 100 degrees on the job
Great video bro. Not a huge fan of the volume of the background music but simple and straightforward comparison video. Most of the hate is coming from Milwaukee fanboys who got butt-hurt you don’t like their fan. I have the Milwaukee fan, it does what I need it to do but for the airflow it provides I could have picked up the Ryobi for less money. I will check out that one and the Dewalt and see which one I’ll pick up as a another fan.
Thanks man, I made this video back when I was testing out a few different things experimentin with music and what not, I realized after I posted that the music was too loud. Thinks for watching
The handle placement and the switch placement on the Ryobi are bothersome for me. It annoys me to no end that I have to turn the Ryobi around or pick it up to get to the switch in the back. The fan output is also noticeably lower than the rest of the fans.
The Makita 18V DCF301Z has more features than the fans shown here, and it also oscillates. It costs more than anything here, but I feel the extra features make up for it.
The lowest I have is the 2.0 and it lasted maybe 3-6 hours I cant remember exactly its been a long time since I have use that battery I mostly use the 9.0 witch lasted a couple days. Thanks for watching.
I bring my Milwaukee fan with me everyday in my truck to work with a 9.0AH I’m in South Florida brotha! Humidity down here is oppressive! I just bought the Dewalt. I love how it’s quiet but man is it heavy! Don’t have the Rigid or Ryobi. I bought 3 of the Milwaukee fans in 2017 to prep for Hurricane Irma. I don’t know, I actually like the adapter for my Milwaukee because I can use it in my truck with my inverter so I switch between that and my 9.0AH it lasts all week! The 9 fits pretty good. I do agree Milwaukee really needs to update their fan. What do you think about Ryobi’s new air cannon? They really need to drop the price $139 is crazy but people keep buying them Depots down here sell them out quick.
@@mrsleannejh What do you need a usb port for?? I dont think any of the fans have them. but there are a lot of tools that have them and some of the battery's have them built in to them like the skil 20v battery's.
Making Stuff and Breaking Stuff with Al yes I re watched it I think what I would love is dewalt but they’re so expensive right now. You’re so lucky to get the deal for $99 I’m gonna have to wait for a while I guess if you hear a deal with a complete set let me know 😆 so I can buy one too! Thanks for your review it’s very helpful ❤️
So the only one that came with a battery and charger that you didn't like was the one you used for 3 nights (but don't like the price)? Does the Ryobi come with that hotwire option? Do you sell used cars
I own all those fans but the Ridgid. I think your assessment of the other 3 are spot on. Love my Dewalt fan and hate the proprietary plug in on the Milwaukee too! Other then that, the Milwaukee puts out decent air. The Ryobi, like you do, I use it as my go to fan when I might need to beat it up a bit. And you are right, that little cheap Ryobi just keeps on going! Great value for $40. Nice review brother!
I love the fan to it blows way more air than the Ryobi. And I love the adapter cause how small and compact the wire is. I don't have to have a thick extension cord for it if I wanna use the fan in the house
I am a fan of Milwaukee but I agree with you on the plug and it's loud with lowest airflow. Would the Rigid or Dewalt fans work as in have enough space to use one of those battery adapters to allow you to use an M18 battery? I don't want more than 1 tool battery system.
Just wanna double check the Dewalt is just as strong as the others, but it's quiet? The battery is marked for 9 HOURS but you used it for 3 NIGHTS straight without charging? Do you mean you slept with it on all night without charging? I'd like a good fan that has good power and long charge.
I have to disagree with you on the Milwaukee the the cord that comes with it is great for in home use who want to plug an extension cord in that’s 10 plus feet and when I’m on a job site then I just plug it into a cord or just use the battery
Is any of these rechargeable? I live in Aruba and want to buy a battery operated fan that can last at least 6hours, since power goes out quite often here. The thing is I will have to order a fan from US and I won't be able to find batteries here if it dies out AND it's too expensive to constantly order things to get shipped. So if I can find one that is rechargeable will be great! Eventually I plan to get a generator but it's out of my budget for now.
I’m a spec and statistics guy. When you look at the specs, I had to get the dewalt in addition to the Milwaukee I already had. Truth of the matter though, is the Milwaukee always seems to cool me off better. Just telling it like it is. I had become a dewalt guy too. Everything I bought dewalt was either better, or cheaper than Milwaukee. They didn’t win this one.
If you are watching this video in 2022 or later, be aware that DeWalt replaced the model in the video with the DCE512B, which DOES NOT have a plug-in option. It can only be powered by a battery.
Hell yes, I didn't know how bad I wanted to see a video like this until I saw the thumbnail. On a side note you should definitely see if the cfms increase when using the higher end batteries like the Milwaukee high output or the Ridgid octane.
So you don't like Milwaukee because you need to carry an adapter...you still need to carry a power lead for the rest so if you can misplace the adapter you can misplace power lead just the same lol
A "Frankenstein-Fan" If you could combine/remove the best parts (blades, battery, power cord, etc) -highest CFM -lowest cost -noise not an issue __Since you had all fans at hand... What would your creation be? Thanks
Right!! All I am saying is that they need to update there fan, That model has been out for what over 5 years. Its also the only one that doesnt have the large plug on the side, Thanks for watching man
@@Impact-OG hey I agree about it needing to be upgraded cause I'd make a few changes myself. Mainly it being able to hold the 12ah battery but I love the air it gives and the adapter cause I never take it on the job site I just use it for my tool shed so the small adapter works better for me. Does the dewalt give alot more air and run longer than the milwaukee
All I can say is after 2 or 3 years, the Ryobi is the only one that still works!! I'm not saying it's the best but it lasts the longest, and I use it every night as a fan in my room.
Hey does the dewalt on high blow more than the milwaukee on high?? Cause the milwaukee blows alot Even though it's loud Also what's the run time on high for the dewalt with a 5ah battery
@@joeaught2186 I still have people who argue that the dewalt blows more but it doesn't. I think they only say that cause of specs but the device that dewalt uses to measure cfm is different cause I saw a video of a guy using a cfm device and it only read like 175 and he said he doesn't know what dewalt is using
I have 2 ryobis fan the hybrid and the non hybrid, i like them because of their size. And I did not payed retail price for them either. The hybrid almost new i got itlike 15 bucks. Right now they are at $49.99 at the depot. But I am eyeballing the dewalt one (99% of my tools are dewalt)
5:24 anybody who who???? Who who who who who who. To each his own. I love the separate adapter. My work van is so organized maybe that’s because I run my own company, I know where all my shit is all the time and I’m very organized. I love the Milwaukee fan. It is a lifesaver. My personal opinion, rigid is the worst and Ryobi is not far behind. I find the Milwaukee tools to be the most durable over all of them. The problem I have with Dewalt is the rest of their tools just are kind of underwhelming in my opinion. As far as the fan goes, the fan head seems very loose like it won’t stay in place. However, I will give you your props where they’re due, I do like the variable speed controls that the other fans have. That is awesome however that’s also more electronics that might fail on a cheap fan tool only product....
it is a bummer that the dewalt is now $159 if you want this model with the cord option....total BS to charge so much more just to be able to plug it in , that should be 100% standard on all of them. I just bought the DCE 512b which is battery only and it cost $119 that was as far as I was willing to go for a fan unfortunately and I think I will almost always want to use it with batteries anyway because trying to deal with extension cords for a fan moving from room to room all the time like I do in my line of work is a pain in the butt. I have to have moving air when er I am working so a battery powered fan is the way to go for med, just wish it had a lug in option without spending another 50 bucks . I bought the battery only one and an extra 6 Amp Hour battery for only a little more than what the tool only with the plug in option .
lets see today its finally cooled down its now 80 witch is perfect to me, its been in the high 90's and we have hit a 100 a couple times. witch is crazy for Minnesota.. were do you live again?
Very informative video. I'm not sure why you liked Dewalt over Ridgid when the Dewalt is substantially more expensive ($69 for Ridgid vs $119 for Dewalt at Home Depot) for basically the same features and throughput. I can get the Ridgid for $89 at Home Depot and it includes a battery and charger. The Dewalt is $200 for the same configuration.
Fantastic video thank you. Milwaukee clearly needs to revisit their fan iteration. I automatically counted them out because of the power brick for ac power. Perhaps others customers won't though especially those already invested in the m18 platform. I dont like the 3 speed on the milwaukee either when everyone else has potentiometers. Ridgid would seem the winner in terms of value if you want a really good fan. Its very comparable to the dewalt yet much cheaper and lifetime warranty. The ryobi of course is a great budget fan and their batteries are cheaper. Speaking of the ryobi, perhaps while you wait for the makita you might be interested in checking out the artic cove misting fan. It works off of a bucket or garden hose and accepts ryobi batteries.
Ridgid is the best bang for the buck!!!! octane batteries are a plus and LSA means you’ll never have to buy it again and if they discontine this one,& come out with a newer model you will likely be upgraded with the newest one! it’s a no brainer if you are in Ridgids platform* Dewalt batteries cost too much and very rarely are on sale for 6ah & up!
My oldest DeWalt batteries are 9 years old. Still work. I have only bought dedicated DeWalt batteries once around Christmas on sale. I’d have to look at the dates in the batteries but close to 5 years ago. 4ah when they put the charge indicator on the battery. All in all I have 4 4ah 6 6ah flex volt and a handful of those 1.5ah and 2ah. They have all been accompanied by a tool. Except for the 3 I mentioned prior. And one 4ah grew legs and walked. But not too heat broken, was an original when I got into DeWalt line 9 years ago now. So DeWalt May have expensive batteries but they last. I have a remodeling company, they get used.
The video convinced me to order the Dewalt fan. I have (2) Milwaukee fans that work just fine but the CFM's is what piqued my interest. Got it for $229 along with a 5.0ah battery and bluetooth radio from HD. Good review, bro.
That's weird that the Milwaukee doesn't have a plug. I'm 100% a Milwaukee guy and actually just bought the Milwaukee, not going to invest extra money in other batteries, but still thats weird
Not trying to be an ass or a part of the grammar police but the title of the video should use "which" not "witch". I was half expecting these jobsite fans to be blowing away a witch shaped drone. (I personally think that would have been an awesome video!) But other than that I have been hoping for a jobsite fan comparison so thank you for a nice, in depth look at it!
i bought the dewalt for $129 about 5 months ago and have never used it more than the first day because in south florida its so damn hot on the jobsite you cant even feel it. i wish i never bought especially once i found out at times it gets sold for as low as $80.
Don't know if you would be interested but Ryobi makes a larger 13" fan with a claimed 2400cfm. I'd imagine that these small ones won't really do much unless you are close by because ultimately they are still only about 7-8" fans
@@ram89572 thanks for the heads up. As far as the Ryobi, probably not because I'm so heavily invested into DeWalt and Milwaukee cordless systems so adding another make in isn't something I'm interested in.
Aye milwaukee might have the least features but it blows the best amount of air idc what they're rated, milwaukee is the best one
This guy is a fucking dick
@@charleslane2735 the guy in the video? Lmao why u say that?
Too loud!
@@rick3301958 its loud asf 🤣🤣🤣 but on a job site, you cant even hear it
Louder fans drowned out loud assholes
The DeWalt fan lasted me all night for 3 days on high with a 9.0ah battery on night jobsite, gotta say that little badboy really lives up to it 's toughness
The Ryobi is approximately 14 hours on the old 3ah battery
I got the Ryobi and a 9ah battery.
Runs continuously for 30 hours on low and 15 hours on high with that battery!
Why music? 🤷♂️
I am just trying some new things, Most people liked it. What didnt you like the Type of music or was it to load??
@@Impact-OG too loud it interferes with your speech
LOL!!!
Ryobi does the same thing as the other fans, the reason it cost more is because they added more plastic to make It look bigger.
My Milwaukee has a power cord too if you don’t want to use a battery
how long would the dewalt last with the 1.5Ah battery?
The lowest I have is the 2.0 and it lasted maybe 3-6 hours I cant remember exactly its been a long time since I have use that battery I mostly use the 9.0 witch lasted a couple days.
Thanks for watching.
Plus side to Milwaukee is that it can run off of 220v
Ive been in a condo doing finish plumbing this whole summer with temp power ran off a generator and can get power almost anywhere in the building
They really need to drop the price $139 is crazy but people keep buying them Depots down here sell them out quick.
toblox drama does your Milwaukee have more airflow than the dewalt? making sure. or I'm looking for around 600cfm.
aaron fuksa the Dewalt definitely has more CFM. If that’s what you’re looking for, then spend the extra money and go with the Dewalt.
How far out does the air go out for them? SO can they be used in living room for projection?
It depends on the fan, the Milwaukee can go maybe 30 feet, the others maybe 20 feet, hey don't forget to subscribe i have tons of videos coming out
Making Stuff and Breaking Stuff with Al thanks Al!!
Making Stuff and Breaking Stuff with Al oh also do you know of any that have USB port?
@@mrsleannejh What do you need a usb port for?? I dont think any of the fans have them. but there are a lot of tools that have them and some of the battery's have them built in to them like the skil 20v battery's.
So which ones blows stronger air? Which one last long does battery life? I want to get these specs if I buy one. Thank you 😊
Did you not watch it? I go over all the CFM's and the price point on all of them. There all ok, so just go with what battery platform your in.
Making Stuff and Breaking Stuff with Al also I have a black decker drill can I use that battery for the dewalt fan?
@@MusicLover-sr5wr no problem, did you check lowes? I know one of the stores just had a deal with the fan and a 3.0 battery and a charger.
Making Stuff and Breaking Stuff with Al I was browsing online didnt see it but I’ll check it again. Thank you
Thank you for the review! Looking for one for my delivery truck this coming peak season. I ain’t trynna catch a heat stroke
Thanks man
I have the ryobi, got it as an extra with another purchase at home depot. My children use it to cool their food off, lol.
Just picked up the Dewalt for $79 at Lowes this morning. Thanks for the info.
I picked up today at 49 with coupon from ebay
seba08724 I picked it up today at a flea market for 35
@@suppaman12 great price but I so think my brothers milwaukee is louder but give more air
seba08724 I agree!
Has anyone removed the cover of the Ridgid Hybrid? I don't see screws, but I'm hesitant to pry it off.
what about the worx fan. plus you did not mention the size of the fans are they all 9inch fans other wise a good vedio
Yeah I have seen the worx, but I didn't have it at the time of filming. Thanks for watching man
KEEP IN MIND THE LATEST DEWALT VERSION HAS NO PLUG IN OPTION. I GOT THE NEW RYOBI AND LOVE IT. IT'S NICE TO BE ABLE TO PLUG IT IN WHICH I DO OFTEN.
No yelling please
@@busman2050 WHO'S YELLING?!
So you don't like Milwaukee because you need to carry an adapter...you still need to carry a power lead for the rest so if you can misplace the adapter you can misplace power lead just the same lol
Thats a good point, but those power cords are standardized. They're all over the place
Keep it charged blood or and vein of to in mind.
Good reviews. I have DeWalt power tools. Glad to see it ranked high.
Yeah it works great. Thanks for watching

There are those who love the adapter. I agree that it's possible to loose it but keep track of it.

Will you recommend ryobi as #1 pick ?
All I can say is after 2 or 3 years, the Ryobi is the only one that still works!! I'm not saying it's the best but it lasts the longest, and I use it every night as a fan in my room.

Hey does the dewalt on high blow more than the milwaukee on high?? Cause the milwaukee blows alot Even though it's loud Also what's the run time on high for the dewalt with a 5ah battery
my milwaukee will blow my dewalt away.
@@joeaught2186 I still have people who argue that the dewalt blows more but it doesn't. I think they only say that cause of specs but the device that dewalt uses to measure cfm is different cause I saw a video of a guy using a cfm device and it only read like 175 and he said he doesn't know what dewalt is using
I need one of those Dewalt fans. Just because.
I bought the battery only one and an extra 6 Amp Hour battery for only a little more than what the tool only with the plug in option .
lolz how hot was it in “Sota?” its read 118 F This last friday afternoon
lets see today its finally cooled down its now 80 witch is perfect to me, its been in the high 90's and we have hit a 100 a couple times. witch is crazy for Minnesota.. were do you live again?
I didn't know JBL had a small brother lol
Are you taking about the wrestler? And thank you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very informative video.
He’s a fanboy
Thanks for schooling .e
I like a quiet fan
I have a DeWalt, and definitely don't have the luck you all are describing. 6Ah battery gets drained in 2 hours or less...
The video convinced me to order the Dewalt fan. I have (2) Milwaukee fans that work just fine but the CFM's is what piqued my interest. Got it for $229 along with a 5.0ah battery and bluetooth radio from HD. Good review, bro.
how is the radio?
I went with the Ryobi mainly so I can breath the next day after welding and those hot days we get here in MN
That's weird that the Milwaukee doesn't have a plug. I'm 100% a Milwaukee guy and actually just bought the Milwaukee, not going to invest extra money in other batteries, but still thats weird
Yeah that dewalt fan blew my hair back kool demo
Thanks man
Not trying to be an ass or a part of the grammar police but the title of the video should use "which" not "witch". I was half expecting these jobsite fans to be blowing away a witch shaped drone. (I personally think that would have been an awesome video!) But other than that I have been hoping for a jobsite fan comparison so thank you for a nice, in depth look at it!
hahahahahah OMG your right or wright lol thanks

i bought the dewalt for $129 about 5 months ago and have never used it more than the first day because in south florida its so damn hot on the jobsite you cant even feel it. i wish i never bought especially once i found out at times it gets sold for as low as $80.
I have wrote DeWalt and suggested they make a bigger fan, like at least 10" using the 60V platform. I'm patiently waiting for it as I'll be at the home Depot door 5 min to 6am on release date.
as much as i like most of my Milwaukee tools i have to agree with you

What about Kolbalt 24volt? I have one.
Yes that is a good question I did look at the Cobalt fan but I do not have any Cobalt batteries or Chargers so therefore I did not get one.
Okay am I trippin or am I just expecting too much from these jobsite fans? I can’t feel the air flow from my dewalt from more than 10 feet away and too me that just seems like an absolute joke. I’ve never been more disappointed with a purchase. The fan I bought at Home Depot was 89 with no battery and no charger..
I think they’re only good for small areas or for ventilation. It’s a small fan so shouldn’t have crazy high expectations for it.
Same here, lmao. $120 and iwas quite disappointed. Especially outside. I thought if I plug it to the wall it would do better
