Probably the Gigabyte one. But I have to imagine they are both of similar quality. Monster cable is always a good grab on amazon if you want to be sure.
I'm thinking of getting this monitor or the 32 inch version (m32u) for playing on the ps5... if viewing distance isn't a problem, which of the two would you recommend for the best ps5 experience? is the 4k experience better on the bigger 32 inch screen or the more ppi on the 28 inch version gives a better experience?
Hey thanks for asking the question. My personal opinion is that 28 in is a perfect size. I know that's not the common opinion by most, but 32 inches is basically a small tv. Because most monitors are edge lit, it can cause more issues with backlight bleed and a contrast that isn't as vibrant on 32 inch as 28 inch. But, not all monitors suffer from this problem (ie. This one). So it's all about your preference and gameplay.
Do you have any solution? I have PS5 and this Monitor every time i press to play a game monitor black screen and come back with message (HDR ON) can somehow to remove it? i mean like HDR always on and not need to to this process? (on PS5 the option is Always On)
For PC use display port for sure. It's just more reliable for high refresh rate and multiple resolutions. HDMI is good for AV style setups, but gaming hasn't quite hit the level of DP.

I would run it at 1440p when gaming. 4K is just too much for the 3070ti with DLSS which is basically the same thing. As far as work with and perform well and look good. Then yes, that calibration menu is fantastic.
Hi, thanks for the video ! I have one question please, I saw on a website that the bandwidth of the HDMI 2.1 is limited to 24 Gbps, does it affect the quality of the gaming experience with PS5 ?considering PS5 doesn't support Display Stream Compression
I have the same question for running a xbox series x on it. Are there any motion issues when playing e.g. COD? Thanks in advance. Amazing videos. Keep going, brother =)

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a disturbance that affects the performance of electrical equipment and electronics. It can be caused by natural or man-made sources, and can be intentional or unintentional.
Depends on the game, generally speaking your game will not provide 120fps without the performance mode on. But some games do. With it on, it will do 4k 120hz if the game is compatible. Otherwise it will be 1080p 120hz.
On the PS5? Are you for sure using an HDMI 2.1 cable? Then be sure to run a game that is compatible with 120hz and check the system info on the monitor to verify.
The only thing I can help with is saying that there really is no "best" monitor for anything. Maybe at the absolute top level there is. But at the $1000 mark, there are a few other monitors to look at. Viewsonic is a great company for highly accurate color panels. Same with LG's UIltrafine. Asus is in the same league but that monitor is more of a gaming monitor than editing monitor.
If you are gaming competitively, then no. If you are intense about gaming and very competitive....there is better. If you just like fps style games and competitive style games, then by all means, yes.
Do this monitor come console ready with the ps5 and will it let you get the 1080p at 120hz and 1440p/4k at 60hz outta the box or do you need to firmware update the monitor to have them future's work with the console? I ask because I just got a ps5 and want the entry 4k 144hz 2.1 hdmi monitor and this is the cheapest one on Amazon.. also I don't have a computer to firmware update the monitor is it possible to firmware update monitor from a laptop??.. I don't have a laptop either, just need clarification if you can do it that way..
You can for sure firmware update from ANY pc. Bot laptop or desktop. It just needs the right i/o. That being said, if you buy the monitor new, it should be at the latest firmware and will not need an update to be able to get full features and benefits with the ps5. The ps5 will not support 1440p, but it will support 1080p 120hz and 4k 120hz. Hopefuly that helps!
@@BainCustom this indeed helps.. thanks on the reply and info, if I do buy it I plan on getting it new.. it's between the m28u in the asus vg27aql1a I'm looking at... I plan only to use the ps5 performance mode so a 1440p monitor that accepts a 4k signal then downgrade that 4k signal to a native 1440p image, so I'd have access to 1080p/120hz 1440p/60 in upscale 4k if I ever want to use ps5 Fidelity mode.. but after playing 60fps I can't go back to 30fps.. so I'll probably never use fidelity mode, because more less the games will be 4k/30fps in that mode.. m28u is future proof tho, decisions decisions.. thanks again🙏🏾
Being that this monitor is labeled 4k but has a limited 24Gbps bandwidth, is it enough to display good 4k quality? I know it uses some sort of compression but will it be the same as using a full 48Gbps bandwidth monitor?
I guess the question is....what is the input source capable of? Can it really reach 48GBPS? If so, will it actually utilize that bandwidth? It didn't make a huge difference for me, but I get why you ask.

What games are you playing and what is your system? Pc or Console? I am assuming console. 60hz really isn't amazing on most monitors. Try reducing the pixel response rate. Haha. Well basically it is a 43 inch tv with gaming features, which honestly makes it a solid HDR "monitor". But yeah, it hasn't got the best reviews overall and is MASSIVE! 😂 Idk, I haven't tested it personally though
I adjust based on the game. Most of my main settings stay the same, while the 4 additional settings you choose from will vary depending on if the game is darker, lighter, less saturated or not.
For sure. I am not too experienced with this and a Macbook, but it is amazing on the PS5 and Macbook is pretty reliable for graphics quality and has a ton of connection types for plugging in.
Thanks for this video, I just got the m28u for my ps5 and I’m really liking the sharpness of the display but I’m struggling with a slightly green tint that I haven’t been able to find a solution for. @@SassyMalone Thank you. But I'm using it with my computer, it's an m1 mac mini with apple silicon. Do you know if I can turn it on within the computer or is it automatically detected when HDR content is available?
I'd highly recommend just going for the 32" version M32U for console. The speakers on it are 5 times better than the M28U, and the extra screen size is nice. Pricing is only $70 more here in Canada too. But as an experienced user, is there something I've missed to get better volume out of the internal speakers on the M28U? I'm using it with my PC.
hmm. It can really be content dependent. For example, I master my audio a bit lower than most music tracks on spotify. So if you compare back to back, you will have to really turn my videos up to hear them. If you want better audio, either change your source (PC, different output port, cables, etc.) or get a set of better speakers.

Is the high performance mode turned on in the PS5 settings? also, you may need to turn off some VRR settings to get 120hz to properly engage on the PS5. There is sometimes a conflict with VRR and refresh rate. Not always, but it's possible. I would also make sure HDR is turned off, it shouldn't effect the 120hz, but it could and is semi-useless in 90% of scenarios.
You can't really compare both as the UR55 is only a 4k 60hz with no HDMI 2.1 while the other one is a 4k 144hz with HDMI 2.1s It's half the price for a reason. If you want use the full benefits of the Xbox and PS5 then you need a 2.1 with a higher refresh rate. It's also one of the cheaper 4k 144hz with HDMI 2.1.

I’ve had the M28U for about a week now and it’s unbelievably good for PS5. Highly recommend
They are both solid monitors. If you want the best imo, get the samsung. But they are like 5% different than each other. So you can't go wrong.

Are we going to see a review for Samsung G70A on the Playstation 5 ?
Oh 100% it is in queue to be released right now. Just a little bit longer.
When I start my Playstation, there is sporadically no picture. .Even if I select HDMI1, nothing happens at first. It only helps when I switch to HDMI2 and back to HDMI1. Is anyone having the same problem?
Check the HDMI control settings on the PS5. It could be a culprit to some of those issues.

Hi! Just got the M32UC 31.5 inch curved. Do you have any settings tips for that monitor or do i go for the same suggestions as you say about this one? I game on a PS5, thanks!
I don't. But I do have some calibration videos that will help you calibrate to your liking.
Is the ASUS VG28UQL1A 28inch 4k UHD IPS 144Hz TUF Gaming Monitor better then this monitor?
IDK, I haven't reviewed it to be able to say. Asus is a good company, that is for sure. So it is possible it is.
@@BainCustom I got this monitor last week and on my ps5 it is extraordinary I rlly suggest having a look at this monitor, obviously depending on the budget targeted for the audience I was able to get this for $1000 aud which happens to be roughly $659 in usd.

hi tech what ethernet cables do you use what cat ect for xbox and what hdmi cable do you use please
I prefer to use Monster or Audioquest for HDMI. CAT cables are a little less important. Any halfway decent brands like insignia or non-amazon basics cables. I recent bought a roll of bulk CAT wire and a crimper tool and just make my own cables using the RJ45 EZ Connectors.
CAT6 btw.

Can you do best warzone monitor settings ?
That's a good idea. I for sure can add that to the list!
Is it still 4K when u turn on Performance Mode?
Depends on the game, generally speaking your game will not provide 120fps without the performance mode on. But some games do. With it on, it will do 4k 120hz if the game is compatible. Otherwise it will be 1080p 120hz.
do you think this moniter will work good with ps5 apex on 120 fps on 1440p? i want to use it for my laptop to what can do 4k
Apex doesn’t run at 120fps on ps5 or series x
Im new to monitors and mine seems to only be in 60hz I’ve double checked settings but I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong
On the PS5? Are you for sure using an HDMI 2.1 cable? Then be sure to run a game that is compatible with 120hz and check the system info on the monitor to verify.

hello can you help me is the Asus PG279QM the best monitor for 1440p gaming and video editing? For 1000$!!
Is this good for comppitive shotters
If you are gaming competitively, then no. If you are intense about gaming and very competitive....there is better. If you just like fps style games and competitive style games, then by all means, yes.
Does the HDMI 2.1 cable come with the monitor or do I have to get it separate?
It should. But I use monster hdmi cables for my setup. They just have a better build quality and I know they are reliable.
Why were you playing 60FPS in Fortnite?
Do you think we should update the firmware of the monitor (ps5)?
If there is an update. Then yes I would
Do you need a pc for that? Asking because i dont have a pc
@@aslan123 yes you would need either a laptop or a pc
Being that this monitor is labeled 4k but has a limited 24Gbps bandwidth, is it enough to display good 4k quality? I know it uses some sort of compression but will it be the same as using a full 48Gbps bandwidth monitor?
I guess the question is....what is the input source capable of? Can it really reach 48GBPS? If so, will it actually utilize that bandwidth? It didn't make a huge difference for me, but I get why you ask.
Hi! Does kvm work with ps5?
KVM can be used with the PS5, but I have not tested this monitor...or any others with a console and the KVM feature.
@@BainCustom Thanks! It would be interesting to see how it works) There doesn't seem to be a test like this on YT. (Sorry for the mistakes, watching you from Russia, liked your videos)
This monitor sucks at 60hz for me. It jutters and blurs so much its unbearable, i get so much flickering even on still images. Panning across maps in games causes so much jerking too. Any tips to try before I send it back?
What games are you playing and what is your system? Pc or Console? I am assuming console. 60hz really isn't amazing on most monitors. Try reducing the pixel response rate. Turn off any eco modes on the monitor and make sure the monitor is updated to it's latest firmware. Also try playing in 1080p 120hz instead, it makes a huge difference.
@TechCessory I'm playing mainly on xbox series x, ps5 has this issue but no where near as bad. I cant even find any eco settings for this monitor in the osd? I've tried different power supply's, hdmi, moving the console and monitor out of the room
Good morning Team
Is there anyone that can share your M28U PS5 settings
Used the same settings from the main review on the page. It is in the video description and pinned in the comments.
Also, turn off HDR if you want more calibration capability.
Hello, just purchased this as a first monitor for my ps5. And I don’t know much. But I was going to ask if you are familiar with a random flickering static green screen. I struggled at first. Getting the app to communicate properly to the monitor was a pain. There must be a trick to it, I just don't know exactly what it is. I played with it until I worked...I know scientific.
Is it worth upgrading from the gigabyte g27qc to the m28u?
Yes
Money not an issue I have a 13900k and 4090, would you say this is the monitor to go with. The reason I am leaning to this one is cause of the fast response time. If money was not an issue would this be your choice
If money isn't an issue, go for a 4k 240hz or an OLED display

I just bought a new gigabyte m28u. But when i tried to check if there are any dead pixels i noticed there is one pixel which is always lit, i.e. when i have a full black background it has a red pixel. Is such defects normal? Do you suggest to return it?
You can try a pixel refresher video on YT, or just exchange it if that does not work.
How is the hdr and sdr brightness in nits..

Idk, I haven't tested it personally though

I adjust based on the game. Most of my main settings stay the same, while the 4 additional settings you choose from will vary depending on if the game is darker, lighter, less saturated or not.

There is a color calibration in HDR that you can use. It is on my full review, I think I show the extra menus. ua-cam.com/video/Q1w3oGzOkfk/v-deo.html

I did a review that tested lower fps using blur busters. Here it is if you want to check it out - ua-cam.com/video/Q1w3oGzOkfk/v-deo.html

If you want better audio, either change your source (PC, different output port, cables, etc.) or get a set of better speakers.

hey I have a ps5 and the m32uc, it supports hdmi 2.1 but when I go to my settings it says 4k 60hz instead of 4k and 120hz and yes I have a hdmi 2.1 cord. Can anyone help me please?
Is the high performance mode turned on in the PS5 settings? also, you may need to turn off some VRR settings to get 120hz to properly engage on the PS5. There is sometimes a conflict with VRR and refresh rate. Not always, but it's possible. I would also make sure HDR is turned off, it shouldn't effect the 120hz, but it could and is semi-useless in 90% of scenarios.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm stuck on 60fps even following the steps for the PS5 and on Gigabyte menu as well
Are you using an hdmi 2.1 cable? Also make sure your console is set to the performance setting. That can prohibit 120hz in certain games.
For the love of everything, turn your h.DR off and go to FPS instead.
Spanis please
One day I will add Spanish subtitle.
M32u is better and same price.
I have this monitor ps5 and series x definitely not worth 600 dollars imo….. i like the samsung 4k ur55 way better and it was half the price
What do you like most about it?
You can't really compare both as the UR55 is only a 4k 60hz with no HDMI 2.1 while the other one is a 4k 144hz with HDMI 2.1s It's half the price for a reason. If you want use the full benefits of the Xbox and PS5 then you need a 2.1 with a higher refresh rate. It's also one of the cheaper 4k 144hz with HDMI 2.1.
