This alternative universe revolves around Darkstalker Legends being trapped in a time loop. Most dragons remain oblivious to this fact, but Whiteout slips trough the cracks, realizing what is actually going on.
Story is as follows: The narrative/universe/reality itself is somewhat of a sentient being. It is very much meta on how Darkstalker Legends is written, as well as just fun concept for me.The universe, however, is not a God. That title belongs to the Moons, three eyes shining in the sky.
I'd imagine Nightwings used to be heavily religious and superstitious, as Moons, the Gods, grant powers to mortal dragons. The eyes close and open.
When eye is open, you are granted power, being as much of a blessing as a curse. However, even with dragons hatched under three moons, the powers are contained in reality, one cycle. Future sight does not see past the cycle, and mind reading does not reveal any secrets about it.
Animus magic, on the other hand, is different. it does not come from the Gods. It is spit of the universe, something that was not ment for regular dragons. It does not care for reality or Queendom, and only thing it will bend to is the will of the host.
It can in fact tear apart the whole universe if narrative does not catch it in time. Most animus dragons are contained, and even when they go mad, reality is not threatened. They might be aware of what their power is fully capable off, but they are held in place, not actually able to destroy it. If one were to slip through the cracks, you might as well become the narrative itself. The writer. Most don't. Funny thing, Darkstalker is completely clueless of it. Even if he had the opportunity, he would not care to look. Whiteout however?
Universe does not care about her at all. She is discarded, ignored, until it's too late. When she obtains animus power trough artificial means, in cycles she manages to become a writer. And once the universe is gone, she rests in the *Void alone, for who knows how. Eventually she casts an ambiguous spell to be freed from the cycle, and it's unclear whether the universe goes back to normal, or if nothing changes, or if its something else. Up to interpretation, dare I say.
*Bonus thing. The Void is a space between reality and unreality. Most dragons will not know of it, but some come there in afterlife. In our color perception it would be black, but its more like, well, void. Empty. Both solid and liquid. Dragons who go there see both their past and future in distorted reflection of what happened and what will happen.
Whiteout knocking the three moons away reminds me of the scene when she knocks away a group of dragonet’s marbles away in the book.
I love chubby Whiteout, this is now cannon.
I honestly want a book focusing on Whitout after Darkstalkers path to evilness and how she watching her brother slowly get more and more vicious and him killing their father RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. my headcanon is that she developed a small fear of male dragons, given how the two males she grew up with were mean. AND, she’s also technically an orphan, because her dad died and her mom got captured by Icewings and got cursed and stuff, I would really like to see her ending up with like lesbian moms or something or having a really nice adoptive family

I have no idea what wings of fire is besides just dragons and drama but I absolutely love the style and the cutscenes of this!! The fluid animation and the expressions are outstanding. Definitely worth watching this 10 times!!!
