Walking Kings Canyon National Park Trails - four very unique walks at one location

- Staying at the very expensive Kings Canyon Discovery Park we use it as a base to do all the walks we can in two days.
Starting with the Kings Canyon Ridge Walk at the Discovery Park which offers spectacular views of Kings Canyon itself.
We then walk up more than 500 steps to the Kings Canyon Rim Walk. Following the trail for nearly four hours, we see amazing views, greenery in the Garden of Eden and rock formations as old as Earth.
After that, just for fun, we follow the Kings Canyon Creek Bed walk and sit in the shade of a huge boulder.
Finally, we visit the lesser known walk, Kathleen Springs. With very few people around this stunning walk meanders along the base of huge cliffs and eventually brings you to a lush water spring surrounded with plants. If you are unable to do the Rim Walk, this walk is my favourite.

Wow. Just bonkers to charge $60. Stunning hikes though
Totally, the hikes are great but if they charged a little less we would have stayed a few more day and probably spent more. Although I think we did all the trails that were advertised in the area. Cheers
Always look forward to your Friday posts
Thank you so much for watching. I'm trying to do a full year of weekly videos just to challenge myself. Enjoying the routine of editing but sometimes the week just flies by. Guess you feel the same some days?
Beautiful Sharyn, looks like you were there at the right time of year. Stunning photos captured.
John looked like an emu in that first footage, stick his head either side of you. 😂
Happy travels!
Cheers Marg
I think we were probably just a little late to see all the wild flowers but I preferred it quieter. Just wish it wasn't so expensive.
Have a great week,
Sharyn
Hi S and J
Another interesting episode, once again the scenery was the star of the show. I agree $60.00 a night for an unpowered site is rude, they are just charging that much because they can and don’t care if they lose a few customers because they are making plenty from the ones that stay.
Take care and continued safe travels.
Hi Darren, I think I like Kings Canyon better than Uluru for the walks to be honest but the cost of the site was a bit off putting. I didn't put it in the video, but the camp kitchens we all just open awning spaces so in the wind they were useless and not useable. Also, the facilities were a very long walk from the unpowered section.. Still all that said, I'd go back to Kings Canyon, I just loved the landscape. Cheers Sharyn
That hubby of yours 😅
Haha, his a good one but sometimes he lives in his own little world.
