  • The double integral can be changed from Cartesian coordinates (𝑥, 𝑦) to polar coordinates (𝑟, 𝜃) by putting 𝒙 = 𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒔⁡𝜽, 𝒚 = 𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒏⁡𝜽 using the Jacobian (functional determinant).
