Great series Paddy, it’s great to see the Deele from start 🤔 to finish, we’ve shared your series on our FB page from all of us at Deele Community Anglers, thanks 👍
Fantastic footage of the big waterfall and the majestic pool. By God you did some research finding all the different paths and trails leading to and from the Lough. Loved the video and keep exploring
Stumbled across your videos last week Paddy and have watched them all now. Great stuff and thoroughly enjoyed them. I be down in Teelin a fair bit and will definitely try and replicate your Glenlough walk which was fantastic. Keep the videos coming 👍
Cheers Dominic. If you try that Glenlough walk there's a much shorter way in on the Port side. There's actually the remains of an old track which would have been the old road into them wee ruins, but I'm not too sure where the start point is. I would know it if I seen it but I couldn't direct you. I'm sure any local would be able to tell you.
That pool of water below the big waterfall above Drumkeen, the old folk used to call that "The beasts hole", mythical creature used to emerge and steal sheep from time to time, usually after night. Methinks it was a 2 legged beast topping up his porter money 😁
Someone told me that there's a show on UTV this Monday night, (airing on Monday 8th August,) called Mahon's Way, and it's about this very river. He better not claim credit for discovering the true source of this river!🤣
Hi paddy, enjoyed all 3 episodes of your burn deele adventure, I have discovered another little stream around Raphoe called the swilly burn it makes its way to the foyle at lifford, maybe worth a dander, all the best Eamonn.
@@highlandpaddy2756 did you ever hear of lough sallagh up in barnesmore gap I was up there in March the lake is supposed to have trout, but what might interest you is there’s some deriilict houses up beyond the lake the road is only fit for a horse and cart when you go above the lake
@@eamonncoll6316 i know of the lough from looking at maps, never been there but. I was planning on doing a loop walk on them old roads you mentioned but had sort of forgotten about it to you mentioned it. I seen the ruins on the map too, what shape are they in? Did they have a roof and/or any old items of furniture, etc?
@@highlandpaddy2756 I only drove past I think one has a roof with door still on the others have no roof I came in from doooish side but the road got terrible before I got to the lake ,from there to the main ballybofey / donegal town road was ok you come out onto the road just before the car park on the Barnes road, it would make you think how did people survive up there especially in winter.
@@eamonncoll6316 indeed it would. i've found ruins in even more remote and isolated spots, i found one in particular that beggars belief, only the footprint remains though, but the stories are legendary of the people that came from there. i'm heading off this weekend to revisit some old ruins in that are maybe a 2 hour walk from the nearest road, and a spot of camping too. I'll post the results.
Cracking! That ridge tile is from Buckley (Bwcle) Flintshire North Wales
