I do that when I'm playing hide and seek with my kids. Google home has a 'broadcast' function, so if they're about to find me, suddenly my voice comes from the kitchen and off they go
I've done that before, hid for half an hour in a place I knew only I and one other person could even get to. I got really bored and it was quite cramped, so I started texting them snippets of their conversation I heard until they figured out where I was.
The real brain genius move here would have been to swap places (and jackets, hats etc.) with one of the camera operators. Not only would your face be partially obscured, Alex would be in the habit of not looking at the camera operators. You’d be a walking blind spot.
It's specifically because they weren't trying to be clever, they just hid. The guys were trying to pull fast ones on Alex, which backfired cause he was clearly thinking the same way with how he checked for them first.

They're in 'plain sight' to humans because of how our vision works, since they never evolved to hide from us specifically, but they are genuinely very much hidden from most other animals' vision
The best tactic was surely to do what Noel did and wait for Alex to go in the house. Then go in the caravan. Just make sure you’re not wearing a bright yellow suit.
Just leg it. That's what I'd of done. There didn't seem to be a 'you must stay within X area', so just nip down to the shops. Grab yourself a Calippo. Or 42.
I really wish I could see the watermelon eating task from series 1 episode 1 for the first time again, same with every interaction between James and Rhod on series 7
If you'd forget the entire show....you wouldn't know of its existence. You'd have to wait till you got introduced to it again or rediscover it on the crazy UA-cam algorithm.

The secret to a good hide and seek spot, is to find a place the seeker is sure you wouldn't fit into. Hiding behind storage bins (horizontally on a shelf) has been one of my best spots, and shoving myself into the furthest corner of a closet. We can see Lolly using this to great effect
as a kid i always found the grownups and hid under their chairs - my cousins would glance into the room, figure the adults would give me up, and leave lol

It's usually the color/texture contrast that gives a hider away, not the bulk. I would lie down on a couch and put a blanket over me and the seeker would just walk by, often several times.
I would have hidden in the bathroom and got a member of the crew to hide with me in there so when Alex knocked on the door they could answer and say they're just not feeling well.
Considering how he started looking around the garden first, they could have stayed where they read the task and probably have done well enough for 2nd.
With this task, I would have just booked it, started running as far away as I could, headed into some sort of public place, then called a cab and go to stay over at a friend's house for a few days, so Alex couldn't even find me at home
Are the rules different in the UK than in The Netherlands? In the Netherlands, the person hiding can win, only if he safely makes it to the spot where the searcher was counting. so if he gets spotted, it's a race to the starting point, and avoid being tagged by the person counting. So I thought Joe Lycett, was going for a win, when he sprinted towards the caravan.
Growing up we called that "block" (not sure why - grew up in Yorkshire, would be interesting to see other people's names for it). Combo of hide & seek and tag, either one seeker or two opposing teams, and you've got to hide from the seeker(s) and try to sneak up on the starting spot. Or get spotted by the seekers and have to sprint for the starting spot. There's usually some sort of landmark you have to touch and shout "Block!" to have won. Best played in big wide open spaces - fond memories of playing it at Brimham Rocks (google it, amazing place to run around and climb as a kid) and trying to get the drop on the seekers by going over the rocks rather than around.
There was some old bits of plywood leaning up against the wall in the shower cubicle (presumably for storage, as no-one actually lives in the Taskmaster house) and she squeezed behind them.
I think Noel's plan was to get into the caravan after Alex went out, which would have been utterly brilliant. Bad luck that Alex thought to go around behind it right at the start.
@@archemides1517 there are generally unwritten rules, like not being allowed on the taskmaster house roof for health and safety reasons. They may have had a rule about not leaving the grounds, possible because it wouldn't be as entertaining if they could go anywhere (there would be way too many places for them to hide and little to no tension of Alex getting close but not seeing them) as opposed to both hider and seeker being in an enclosed space where the hider has to be more careful and sneaky.

The uploader would have to provide it, I think, although as this is an official channel, one would assume they'd have access to captions. Maybe there isn't a way to do so, and UA-cam forces them to use their horrible auto-generated captions that work maybe 50% of the time.

The fact that both the ladies- but Lolly especially- were so good at this task and so bad at the camouflage task cracks me up.
I think she was interpreting camouflage very literally. A camouflaged animal isn't hiding, it's in plain sight but looks like its environment.

Really surprised none of them had the thought of just climbing on the roof of the house. The shed was like the perfect place to climb.
Health and Safety doesn't allow climbing on the roof, is why. So they might have asked and been told no.
