Video games are fast becoming an art. Soon the genre will be recognized in the same way that there is literature and there are books and how there are movies and there are films. This is great stuff.
This sounds fantastic! At first I was a bit worried about the lack of O'Donnel's ear behind this game, but I after listening to this my fears just got killed and teabagged.
As amazing as the score sounds, I still have this underlying sense of not being satisfied without the hauntingly brilliant "Unforgotten" from Marty O'Donnel. Music like that stays with you...
as others have stated Halo without Martin O'donnel and Michael Salvatori, is like The Hobbit without Howard Shore, or the next Jurassic Park without John Williams... sure, it might be just good enough to make me happy/like the music. But these composers are what brought these games to life... So sad I am.

By the end of Bungie's contract some of them were starting to hate Halo, so now that those guys are gone, only the devs who love working with the series remain, so surely that means that it will have more thought and care put into it, making it a truer Halo than the past few. Also the music is fucking awesome!

Go back to play Halo 1-2-3 then, they are still there. I love Halo, and im looking forward to see how different (in a legendary way) this is going to be.
hmm the music is definitely new... its like a realism adventurous sort of feel to it. the old music was more like a holy, dramatically driven feel. i hope the gameplay and the story connects to it.. i mean they kinda ended the main antagonist of the trilogy so something is different and i hope it lives up to the halo experience.
Actually good news for you. Bungie, who has broken from Microsoft and is now working with Activision, who makes multi-platform games. Now they did have to give up the rights to Halo, but perhaps we'll see like, a modern Marathon (Bungie's ancient FPS) which could have similar gameplay to Halo and would be on all consoles. And on Bungies website they have job openings for people who work on Playstation Games.

This series has become Killzone to me. Let me explain. While I'm sure that Killzone has a fantastic story, solid gameplay, and gorgeous graphics, I won't touch it or even give it a sideways glance because I'm not in a position to shell out however much cash is necessary for the game, the system, the controllers, hookups, internet access, ect. Rather than greet the market with open arms (game is on ALL systems) they've chosen to alienate a solid THIRD of the market (the other two Xbox & PS)
So the question is. Do they ask Bungie and Marty if they can use the main theme? I don't see how it can be a successful soundtrack without the main theme.

The main one however is them selling Halo to Microsoft giving them complete control over the game. If Microsoft did not own the game, they would not be able to keep making them. The blame still lies with Bungie if this guy has anyone to be mad at, it would be them. If they had not left, and stopped wanting to make Halo games, he wouldn't have a Halo 4 by 343.

And so Reach and ODST were created. Bungie wanted to stop at Halo 3. So no, there is no fault. If they hadn't sold out to MS there would be no Halo in the first place. And if MS gave them the rights to Halo when they departed, then There would be no Halo 4 either.

So until someone get's their head out of their ass and ports these games, I will sit next to my copies of Super Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 4 & 5, Devil May Cry 3, Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Team Fortress 2, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, patiently waiting for that good news from Bungie and Sony. I shall sit and hope for the best, but as Burgess Meredith once said: "You can wish in one hand and crap in the other, see which one fills up first."
