Thank you for the very precise instructions. No one has ever told me I would need to give Roku my birthday and a credit card. I reset to factory settings. Now I have a semi used Roku set up. They don't need personal info nor a credit card.
Glad I saw your post. I too will not give my info or credit card numbers to such a service. Nope.
I just googled to find out whether I had to give my credit card number to Roku and I do not. That is only if I wish to purchase from any of the streaming services. Many of the apps give you free watching, some of them do not. The credit card is for those you want but have to pay for.

@@Blueberrybestiewestie when I was setting up it asked for my credit card. So I did not complete the set up. Older Roku sticks did not require that info.
Love roku just got the roku streaming stick plus from target for my pops as a gift since he doesn’t have a smart tv it still looks great in 1080P bye bye cable tv🥂😎

@@sabor1970 No, not like with cable. Maybe some news or network shows delayed. But not live.
You'd have to get a streaming service and pay for that or an over the air antenna.

I want to Thank you from the bottom of my heart !!! I haven't been able to set up any Roku, I bought two ...one with the cord and other with the stick and I still couldn't figure it out , bc I am a widow recently and lost my son 11 months ago along with 2 dogs and my son's cat , so what u said that I didn't know was the pairing button!!! Then I listened to you very carefully and I finally am able to watch my TV again!!!! It's a Samsung 2015 hi def ...I want a bigger TV ....which TV would you or anyone on here in the comments recommend? I got this TV for 200$ at BJ's , but I'm no longer a member there , so I do want a larger TV for around 300 ( of course a much bigger TV like maybe a 55 inch ....this is life changing for me , why? Bc I always have to watch my TV in my bedroom bc my son hooked it up plus it's a 55 inch also ....you got me out of my bedroom finally!!!!!! I take care of my grandson and he watches his shows ...so I can't watch mine ...but now I CAN!!! The only question I have is ( not really a big deal but it's annoying) on the upper left hand side of my TV I just set up has this banner on the side ...it says the name of the TV & HDMI & full hd & the serial number.....is there any way if possible to get that banner that goes from each top of the sides of my TV constantly....it's just annoying, but other then that , I'm the happiest girl right now !! I feel great that I actually set it up with your help!!! I never knew the pairing button!!! Then waaaa laaa !!! It's on !! Of course thru the settings you said to do !!! ..sorry for such a long post I give you a million stars for a review!!!! That manic pairing button I never knew!! ( I don't use the speaker 🔊 it's no biggie bc I don't know how to set that up if I even have to who knows!)

Great video. I have two different TV's (Samsung and Visio). I have a Roku streaming device for each one. The Samsung TV has a sound issue in that it spikes a high pitch brief "blip" (sometimes soft, sometimes louder) randomly. In trying to identify the Samsung sound issue, do you think the Roku stick could be associated with that sound problem? I guess I could try to switch Roku devices to help troubleshoot, but haven't.

No...not at all unless you're paying for an app ...like I want prime TV ...n my sister told me if I have Amazon prime I can get all the apps I pay for for around 20 dollars , I'm not to sure about that ...the ones I love are under 5$ except Netflix and stars , but Starz has a special right now , but after you don't want that channel anymore I wouldn't know how to unsubscribe ...bc the $ comes right out of my bank account.... peacock and Tubi have some great movies ...but I don't know how to get live TV ...( I'll figure it out ..I just set up my Roku after 2 years bc of this video)

Hi,I am new to this,I have a question ,I f I set this up on my computer will it be available on my T,V they are both connected on the same streaming device? I w as able to do this with HBO MAX.I have an older model SAMSUNG SMART TV BOUGHT IN 2015 IF THAT MAtteres it does not have a lot of apps,but i do not use the Samsung remote I use the remote for my cable company. ,the only apps i have are Netflix and you tube ,that are on the Spectrum cable box, I want to get rid of the cable box and stram the premium channels and live t.v and my local channels i,will i be able to do that with this roku plus?
If you have one already set up in your living room do you still have to go through all these steps AGain if you set one up in your bedroom.
If you're account is already set up ....no...just paid the remote to your new TV ....I just did it ...with the help of this video!
How do you get you cable channels
Am I able to have two TVs on the wall next to each other, both having Roku and both responding to different Roku remote? And how about three TVs on the wall all responding to a separate remote so I can watch three different channels on three TVs at once
I just found you can....you have to pair each remote with each tv n bam!! There ya go !! The pairing button I can hardly see ( untill this man mentioned it) it's inside on bottom of the batteries hold in for 5 seconds and it pairs ! Good luck 🤞
Can you help me out I am trying to set someone up with a roku streaming stick 4k this someone has cancer and is on her way to check out and I wanted to get this stick to set her up with voice command. The issue I have is that she has no cell phone just a landline and a laptop can this still be set up for her to use the voice command on her roku if she has no google or siri or alexa accounts ? All well and good but when I enter my email address I am told that the email is already being used. That's because I have an account. This takes me back to where I was before. It's like I'm in a loop. I have tried every thing to do. Restart etc.
My TV is probably too far from the wall outlet for the Roku extension. What can I use to extend to the outlet?
I would think a power strip would be appropriate. You can get them in different lengths and most come with surge protection. That has to be good right?

Word chipper, you'd have to pay for cable internet, or by an air antenna with a good long distance reception and hope it will pick up local channels
You can get a UA-cam TV monthly subscription, which offers local channels.
