Simply put, people prefer people like themselves, racism does not have a lot to do with it. Nationalities, ethnicity, culture, age, gender, profession / occupation, bacground, location gravitate to each other. I prefer gardeners to all others and I prefer shade loving plant gardners to all other gardners. Now that I am a senior I avoid people who speak with an accent because it takes too much effort for me to interact with people who speak with an accent. Maybe it's just me.
