I’ve only read My Best Friend’s Exorcism out of these but I LOVED it. I binged it around Halloween last year right after finishing The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires & couldn’t get enough of either of them. I’m really excited for How to Sell a Haunted House 😅 I’m also really interested in Blanky & Hallow’s Hill, both of which I have out from my library at the moment 😊👻
Hi I have just discovered your channel love this video :-) I totally agree with Stephen King. There are fantastic books (Shining, It, some short stories like "room 1408", Salems Lot, Love (after the first 300 pages...) The outsider, etc) but also a lot that made me so angry and I hate them (first and foremost "Under the dome"). Thank you for all your recommendations: Into the drowning deep, Mary, Night of the Mannequins, Things have gotten worse sound all amazing. And "Gallows Hill" screams my name. I love wine and winerys :-) House of hunger wasn't my favorite, i have to admit. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you :-)
i love Darcy to! "small horrors" has 50 short stories only a couple pages long each and EVERYONE of them were good!! just finished Parasite and she is great at Alien horror as well, From Below was good and im going to read her newest one "Dead of Winter" next about a group of people in a cabin and one of them is a killer taking them out one at a time
Final girl support group was one of my faves too. I stand by that! Haha I read it so verociously when I first purchased it. And I also cried at the end of MBFE 😢 such a touching ending to the story. I need to read into the drowning deep!! I have such a fear of large bodies of water 😂
Your sweater is the greatest sweater ever! I fricken love it ❤ and your list is awesome! The Shining is definitely my favorite King and would totally be in my top horror books! I just read Night of the Mannequins and actually loved it! And MBFE would be on my top list too! Obsessed with your list 🎉
YAS. Can't wait. Everyone has been making these videos I should as well. IN FACT I WILL.....TOMORROW. I need to read Mary! My best friends exorcism and Final Girl Support Group are SO GOOD. I need to dive into a bunch of these. Awesome video.
Thanks for the interesting recommendations. 😊I put some of the books on my wish list. As you have asked for more horror books recommendations, I can recommend "Weep Woman Weep" by Maria DeBlassie, which is partly about the Mexican folklore character La Llorona. The author describes this novel as a gothic fairytale and it has a lot of spooky and cosy atmosphere.
My mom is the horror/thriller fan. She recommends "The Stand" "A Bazaar of Bad Dreams" and "Skeleton Crew" by Stephen King. "Shadow House" by Dan Poblocki. "Into the Mist" by R.C. Cast.
MBFE and Blanky were both sooo good! Really need to read The Shining. Feel like that may be the only King book I'll like lol. Also need to read Into the Drowning Deep! Especially after loving Feed so much 😀
Ooh, I'm curious to get to Mary at some point. I really like Stephen Graham Jones' writing. I've read a couple so far but haven't gotten to Night of the Mannequins yet so I need to get to that one soon.
For underwater horror you should read Jaws. I know its old but its great. Also The Meg or Meg is really good for underwater horror. There are submarines and big sharks. It's by Steven Alten and it's a whole series.
Read most of these. Going to try mary and night of the mannequin. Try the book titled brother. Kind of horror but more psychological mind fuckery. Thanks for the list
So many of my favorite horror books don’t even feel “horror” to me. I just live for the spooky vibes. The books that crept me out the most was probably Carrow Haunt (my only Darcy so far) and Dead Voices by Katherine Arden. Dead Voices is a middle grade and it creeped me out more than The Shining.
I want to reread that book. I went in thinking it was gonna be about something else (you know what I mean). Now that I know that its not like that. I think I would enjoy it more.
I've bought a good DOZEN books since my self imposed "book buying ban" if you count the passage trilogy as one! 🤣😂😅 (including blanky) getting jnto novellas more for quicker gratification!, despite the horrible movie (imo) give "I am legend" by Richard Matheson a try, still in my top 3 "vampire books" 🧛♂️
I enjoyed The Final Girl Support Group, too.

Omg let me know what you think of blanky and gallows hill!
Gallows Hill! Such a great book and one of her best in my opinion. I got an arc of it a little while ago and it was top tier.
Omg I’m HERE for this video 🎉🎉 I’m about to film one cuz I’m so inspired seeing all of my friends doing these videos 😍😍😍
Your sweater is so cute!!
We have some similar favs 😍😍
Okay yes please film one

Such a great list! I read and loved most of these, and the others are on my TBR!

Thanks for the list I’ve always loved horror but it when I was younger so I’ve just found adult horror again so these are all added to the list xx
Yay!! I hope you find some favorites too!

I have House of Hunger, Tender is the Flesh, and A Certain Hunger on hold on Libby. I feel like there is a theme going on here.
Horror is a new genre that I just started reading this year. I haven't read any of these but definitely adding Mary to the top of the list!
Ahhhh if you read Mary, let me know your thoughts along the way!
Ty for the recs :) I agree on the Shining
I own uzumaki!!! Need to read it asap
@@CaileysBooks Do it xD It's amazingly disturbing
If you like water horror, try “The Deep” by Nick Cutter! Just a warning, def check the trigger warnings because Nick Cutter can get gnarly!
Really need to read Gallows hill!
Yesss please do

I love dead voices too! I almostttt put small spaces on my list
Read Kin by KPB…but first, brace yourself. It’s a companion book to Brother by Ania Ahlborn
I’ve just read a book called…. Don’t Play Games With The Builder…. It’s one of the most honest horror stories I’ve ever read.
Night of the Mannequins is such a fantastic book!
I want to reread that book. I went in thinking it was gonna be about something else (you know what I mean). Now that I know that its not like that. I think I would enjoy it more.
