I just think that is the "male/female" dynamic at work. Our testosterone gives us an edge when people "talk over each other" and when the female guest compensate for that, she comes off as "a little intense" What can we say! Life is a bit unfair :)

I'm glad Maher and Bush gave Dominick that look of contempt when he complained about Bush Sr. 'Coppafeel' joke. Obviously what he did was inexcusable, but you cannot deny that the word play isn't funny.

It's a schism. They think they're doing good as they think gun ownership as "normal". Assault weapons in the hands of civilians isn't normal, it's abhorrent as firing multiple rounds even semi automatically isn't serving any normal service like hunting. When you buy such a weapon you're planning to kill a lot of humans. When you do that, you're either delusional or paranoid.
The second amendment was written with a single shot weapon in mind. Take away all other weapons outside of bolt action rifles, double barrelled shotguns and maybe even revolvers. All else is overkill. Leave the assault weapons with the military, police and special permits like Hollywood.

is it possible to consider that members of the NRA actually belive that protecting our schools with the same level of protection we afford to banks and airports is the best solution to school shootings, that the best way to stop a school shooting is to stop marking them defenseless killing fields where the shooter can stalk the halls unopposed for however long it takes for someone with a gun to arrive.

Entirely agree. Guns are good self-defense, but only if you know what you're doing. With the vast amount of gun deaths being the result of incorrect usage or poor storage, training and education is the ideal move. It will lower gun deaths and injuries greatly, which pleases the left, and it will enforce what the right says about guns being necessary for self-defense. It's a win-win.
