Thread I finally did my challenge of getting to the Ashlands without killing the Queen. I went there after killing Bonemass, I rode in on a Karve, it broke right after I got to the first big spike. I jumped off onto the spike, a Bonemaw spawned, and I took him out with some arrows. I was using troll armor and my early game weapons, in case I died and couldn't recover my root armor set and iron weapons. I was able to set a portal down on the first big spike I landed on, after flattening it out with my pickaxe. I then jumped and swam to the next spike, where I was attacked by two birds. They melted me, and I returned to be killed two or three more times by them, slowly picking away at their health. Corpse run enabled me to kill the birds, and I swam to the next spike. I set one more portal down, now much closer to shore. I was really close to the beach shore at this point, and was able to swim to the shore while some charred tried to shoot me with arrows. When I made the beach landing, my only goal was to find a Morgen cave to hide in, there was no way I could fight with troll level 3 gear and a level 4 flint spear. I ran like hell and about ten enemies were chasing me. I found a Morgen cave, and at the Morgen cave, I was able to lay down a portal and I even scored a few molten cores so I can now make the stone portal and transport metal while I explore plains and mountain and mistlands. Good times! It was surprisingly not too hard. The biggest threat is the birds, which are really hard to shoot with arrows from far away. Perhaps if I had the crossbow I could have taken them out from a distance. I also did drown once or twice because the tide lowered and I couldn't climb onto the spikes. I bet you could do it without dying. I would love to see a challenge where first person to the ashlands wins, or make it harder and say first person who get's there without dying wins.
Hmmm, i suppose I should explore the idea, as early stone portals could open some things up. It's just so scary that the run could get killed so deep into it!
@@ThreadMenace it was really fun, and the reward is huge, having that portal early game. i probably could have sailed in a little farther if i used the longship and not the karve. i'm not sure if it would help in a speedrun situation, but someone will figure that out eventually.
Again, huge congrats on the WR and the amazing time Thread! Ashlands was / is just beyond brutal. Your commentary is just a level above and matched only by your skill in the game. As always, a massive thank you for the great content! 😀👍👍
There's me on my very first playthrough, I got to the Ashlands recently and have decided to do the fishing thing for the hat to give myself a break. Seeing these makes me want to maybe try and see if I can speedrun Valheim soon. Thanks for the inspiration. Some of the stats were wrong, you definitely had more than 20 greydwarf eyes.
Nice Run! Congratulations on WR :D Btw the BossKills 6 might have to do with you killing Elder with the campfire and never actually doing weapon damage to him.
I wonder how much this time could be shortened if there was a way to get early Stone portal. Amazing watch, it inspired me to finally finish the ashlands myself!
At some point I was like.. I remember him using Bonemass power for Ashlands (on your previous wr).... but he's not using it this time.. wait.. when did he kill it?? xD
2:45:00 how did you go from overburdened to not overburdened after rolling? i saw you pick up your stuff walk heavy, roll then suddenly no longer heavy. what did i miss?
@@pepperspray7386 one aspect of the 'corpse run' buff that you get for 50 seconds after completely emptying a tombstone is +150 carry weight. The devs did this so that if you die with ameginjord on and over 300 weight you're not totally screwed when you go to pick it up. If the tombstone is over 300 it makes you click "take all" to pick it up, and then after a second or two the buff kicks in and you can lift it

Eeeee! Thank you so much! Love to hear it's still fresh! I'm having a great time but it's awesome to hear it from someone other than me, haha. Thanks for bein' here!
is there a specific reason you always hold the pickaxe in ashlands? i've never once seen you use it there and can't imagine a situation where you'd need to?
Thread, my man, can you in short explain how you do extended sword combo with 3 high damage atracks? 37:40 when you break your boat for example. I know it sort of a button and timing combination, but can you please advise exactly? Thx
@@masisarsu with current strategies, a stellar performance, and bonkers luck I could maybe see 10.5 hours? I don't really count on that happening as it's difficult to maintain both luck and skill for the entire affair. Hopefully some new strats get unearthed!
@@yagoa well, you have to make it to make the sealbreaker but the cape is 20 magic juice and the catapult is super heavy so it probably involves lots of portalling and then you just abandon the mats.
@@ThreadMenace yeah just breaking it takes forever, I guess the only situation would be if a Vigvisir shows the boss arena on the other side of the Ashlands and juice is plentiful, at least a good strat 0,01% of the time :P

Oh heck yeah!
I think many of the stats only pertain to the given session, not the entire existence of the character
Just want to say I loved watching this entire playthrough. Amazing stuff.
Thanks so much! Good timing, another one dropping soon! XD

Thanks! Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're correct there
I've been checking over and over!!
Lol same here.
Great run, dude. Ashlands was so rude with the fortresses, lol.
Feeling late to the party 🎉 nice run though and a great ashlands boss fight.
I wonder how much this time could be shortened if there was a way to get early Stone portal.
Amazing watch, it inspired me to finally finish the ashlands myself!
Oh, and goes without saying that I'll sub.
I'm really not sure! I should probably think more about it, haha!
Finally, I thought I wouldn't see the third part)
Loved the videos! gz again on the wr mate :) I feel I missed the Bonemass kill somewhere? xD

I still think catapult to find forts and arena is viable
Pretty scary (especially with no feather cape) and costly. Not too sure about this one hahaha. Would be sweet though lol
