- Valve cooked with this one. Deadlock has been super fun lately, and I cannot put this game down. I haven't had this much fun playing a game since forever. I've been playing 24/7. Please help me. If I see any of you say that Mo is a mole instead of a piggy, you're blocked instantly. He's my piggy. Hopefully they add more characters to the game asap. I love this game, and I hate Abrams.

when the game initially leaked, i was super skeptical. but after ~50hrs of playtime, valve is fucking COOKING bro. i despise MOBAs but its so good.

Same man, when I first saw the leak and saw it seemed to be going for the hero shooter stuff and such I thought Valve would fall down the disgusting path of modern gaming where they'd do some generic garbage to farm skins and stuff like that. I was so deeply disappointed I literally cried and sobbed for a while (I'm not even joking, that's just how special Valve games are to me).
Now I got into the playtest only like four days ago and I already have 40 hours and I'm in love.
Wall of text patches is pretty much a staple Icefrog is known for in Dota so obviously that would translate to Deadlock since he's the lead dev there too(named Yoshi).

the only people hating on deadlock are salty tf2 and ow fans who are mad at either the design or the fact that valve is giveng them more attention. im a massive tf2 fan as well but deadlock is made by a pretty small super dedicated group that wouldnt even be working on tf2 anyways, theyre mostly dota devs

they hate deadlock because they invested money, time and effort in their shooter games... they hate it because its too complex and skill ceiling or too fast pace... deadlock needs to stay as it is... we have tòo many casual, slow, 1 tap headshot, slow ahh fuu pace, and wait until next round ahh shooter games already..
the main reason why tutorial doesn't explain each and every little thing is to avoid being too overwhelming. they even said their intention is to be a "learn as you play" game.
I think its basically impossible to make a good ingame moba tutorial, theres too much shit that has to be gone into outside of the very basics unless you strip all that out and at that point, the fuck you even playing? Its like Monhun or Soulslikes, you just gotta dive into the deep end and flail until you figure it out, or you decide its not for you and you move on.

People expecting a complete experience in an alpha are gonna have a bad time. Normal people have flooded into a niche game full of game play depth they have never seen before in hero shooters and are confused that it doesn't hold your hands when it's not complete.
I think making the game roleless is very good like DotA

I remember playing gigantic. That shit was ass. DeadLock tho, is fun because how the game paced, its a moba rather than just hero brawler pretend to be a moba.
I would argue against us OW players hating, majority of my friends who've played who are also a OW player and stream it like me have LOVED Deadlock. As someone with crippling ADHD it's been heaven finally having a game besides OW to calm my brain
