Happy to have been part of this, thank you for going over this run and its more recent history! Big shoutouts to Bronkel, his determination to get the Easy mode record is super commendable :)
Whatever totally unimpressed. When I was kid a bear this game in a about 9 minutes after I got it from video express. And by beat I mean with a bat in my drive way
Turned out great. Thanks for having me as well! Very happy that the game & run gets attention again. Was a very fun watch. And of course huge shoutout to SBDWolf for making the run what it is today and the great sport and inspiration he is.
I caught that too... but I think he just meant that Lion King games appeared on consoles that themselves were from the 80s (NES, Master System, Amiga, etc.)
To people like this kid, it might as well have been the 80’s. This was my childhood and kids call me old because I’m 40, so same difference to them if it was the decade I was born haha.
Checked out as soon as he said 80’s. Lion King came out in 1994. Lion King games came out for that generation of consoles. If bro would’ve done 2 seconds of research he would’ve known. Lame.
I had to speedrun your video. To many words can be easly skipped without lose any advantage in this run. The flat explanation without any depth can easy glichted to save some more time. My PB 9:30 Hakuna Matata. Great Video i am lookimg forward for more content. You have the chance to become a great Speedrun content creator
Recently finished this game on a stream, bro the memories, had never finished the game because I didn't know how to fricking throw, beat up Scar so much as a kid, but it did nothing lol. Good to see some attention to it
This game is infamous among people in my generation haha. It’s odd hearing kids talk about it…I feel it’s another one of those “you had to have been there”. It doesn’t matter if a kid can pull up an emulated version, not the same as loading it up with your friend and both trying…and failing at even making it past the wildabeast portion.
So far I know there is a shortcut on Simba's Exile. You have to go inside the pits where the boulder rolls and you have to roll with simba to use the shortcut
Oh... I remember struggling with this game a when I was young. It was _very_ hard. Edit: Don't think I got much further than the monkey-ring level... 😅
One of my favorite games of all time and one that I fondly remember beating the summer it came out. Kinda bizarre that I beat this a number of times, but never SMB.
I beat this game with the help of my older brother at about 7 years old. It was the very first game I ever completed. And oddly I've had a thing for punishingly hard games ever since.
Awesome video, thank you so much! One minor improvement I would suggest for future videos, could you please explain the difference between easy/normal/hard modes?
I rented this game soooo many times before I finally beat it. For my kid self this was harder than Ghouls but without the feeling of a fair challenge. Lion King was an unfair annoyance instead of being a fun or good time.
Now I'm ready for that Jungle Book speedrun breakdown. 😂 SNES Lion King, Jungle Book, Aladdin, and Mickey's Magical Quest & Haunted Circus all had the same look, feel, and sounds. Lol. Was there another Disney game from this time period I'm forgetting that's almost the same? Lol.
Love this SNES series every time, Pat!😍 I’m excited to see what the next episode will be like though. Can't wait! By the way, it would be awesome if you could check your inbox - we've sent you an email!🤗
I couldn't even beat the hyena fight in the first level as a kid , granted it was on the terrible Gameboy port. Even today, I've never gotten past the stampede level on Easy. Gives me a good appreciation for the skill on display running this game at all.
Is this one of those games that can be run using the Disney Classic Collections released for Current Gen and Last Gen consoles ?? or does it have to be OG hardware or certain emulators??
"A Lion King game was made on practically every popular system during the 80s and 90s" (what was said in the video) isn't the same as "A Lion King game was made on practically every system that was popular in the 80s and 90s" but I can see how they would be easy to conflate.
I have a general question about runs. Why is is that a "new record" or a "second barrier was broken" is often said when I very often see its 98 hundredths or maybe 56 hundredths of a second? This always has bothered me. tl;dr, why does it round down and not round up?
I plaid this game a cupol days ago at my best friends house i bot it on his ps5 for 20$ needles to say my friend waysted 20$ he will never tuch it agen lmfao
just so you know, Fang is non-binary and is originally from Goodbye Volcano High. Snoot Game is an attempted parody of that game, and intentionally misgenders them.
Happy to have been part of this, thank you for going over this run and its more recent history! Big shoutouts to Bronkel, his determination to get the Easy mode record is super commendable :)
This was my first very difficult game and I was never able to push thru it.
SBDLion.
Love your speedruns, mate. One of the most talented speedrunners in the biggest variety of games.
@@Mister_Clean Thank you for the compliment :)

That it was beaten at all is impressive, in 12 minutes is where you got me questioning reality.
Influx of 90s kids who couldn't beat this game incoming
this game was not hard not sure what people are talking about
Could only be at the Sega version with a 6 button controller 😂
I found Cutthroat Island way harder.
Aladdin was tougher...
My aunt rented it from Blockbuster. I was terrible at it.
Great video, thanks for the mention! It's awesome to see players like SBDWolf and Bronkel continue to push this game.
Impossible, _nobody_ can beat that game.
I managed to beat it back in the day, but I'm not sure if it was the SNES version
The nes version was beat in about 5:30
The hardest level back then was Be Prepared because we had no idea what we needed to do to beat it lol
@@grandmastermario3695 this game was never beaten as a rental
@@vaiytyou weren't prepared enough apparently
Hold up... Lion King games did not come out in the 80s as the movie didn't come out until 1994

Remember being in awe of my neighbor friends older brother who figured out the ostrich level. What a legend
"Lion's being allergic to boulders"
Wow, that's so silly, why would lions get hurt by... *checks note*... being crushed by a boulder?
Recently finished this game on a stream, bro the memories, had never finished the game because I didn't know how to fricking throw, beat up Scar so much as a kid, but it did nothing lol. Good to see some attention to it
The death animation in this game is insane
I do not think they were any Lion King video game in the 80s 😅
The console is from the 80s.

Nice work. I need more people to beat this game as much as possible. It caused me too much trouble in my childhood.
Neat analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
I knew the NES version of this game was gutted compared to the SNES and Genesis version, but only 5 and a half minutes for a speedrun is like, dang.
As a 90's kid who played this a lot, I still have the "It starts..." of Timon living free-rent on my head
Lol I searched your channel to check if you uploaded, and I found this video 2 minutes after it came out, pretty lucky ngl.
I joined your channel solely because of the double dragon music in the background….. u know good gaming
This took me a whole summer as a boy to Beat

SNES the greatest console ever made. It brings back so many childhood memories. I yearn for this time period.
PC version was basically identical as this, from memory. I remember it on arcade too!
I do remember the PC version being extremely difficult though
I owned this game on the genesis and couldnt get past like, the second or third level.
Awesome video, thank you so much! One minor improvement I would suggest for future videos, could you please explain the difference between easy/normal/hard modes?
If you gave me 12 DAYS im not 100% sure I could do it
Great video!
Awesome breakdown.
2:02 Home - We're Finally Landing starts playing (in my own mind, okay?)
It's crazy to imagine that it started with someone saying "I bet I can beat the game over a weekend "
"I beat this game in under 12 minutes!"
Oh word?...it took me like 6 years.
Great video :)
I rented this game soooo many times before I finally beat it. For my kid self this was harder than Ghouls but without the feeling of a fair challenge. Lion King was an unfair annoyance instead of being a fun or good time.

Fantasia on the genesis. That game was so freaking hard!
Is that music from Plok at the start of your video?
I've gotten a 14:31 on this game before. One of my favorities ❤
7:39 lvl 2 ostrich has two heads
Funny, my first job was demoing this game and alladin snes for the xmas season for computers etc, which would go to elbo, then to gamestop

During the 80's and 90's? Dude, Disney's version was released in 1994.
No Lion King games in the '80's...
Just wanted to ask. You said a 4 pixel window. Pixels are distance. Frames are time. Did you mean 4 frame window?
I never saw past I can't wait to be king
Never beat this bastard. The monkey level got me.
WR is 11:52 now
5:08 around 11 minutes
The movie came out in 1994 so how did they make it in the 80's
Lion king games in the 80s? I think you better recheck the wiki
