My belief is that Loki was pretty sure it would NOT work. However it was still his best/only chance/option so he went for it anyway. He was desperate. Another thing to show how dangerous Thanos is. We're shown that the Hulks strength is barely a concern for him, and then we're shown Loki for once not having a good plan.
Not only that he beat Hulk in less than a minute but left so much trauma on him that he didn't want to come out afterwards.
He clearly faked his own death.
And Thanos didn't use the power stone against Hulk, our Titan is really that powerful

My mom literally watched this movie in theaters when it premiered. When the beginning happened, there was a stunned silence and everyone was starting to cry out in terror and horror at the thought of losing Loki.
My mom was the first to break the silence while Bruce was sent to Earth.
"All is lost," she said.
That was the most laughs she ever got in a movie theater and everyone was agreeing with her. XD

I’m glad you reacted to the scene where Thor tells Rocket about he’s got nothing left to lose. Most reactors don’t post that scene. To me that scene made the movie and sets him up perfectly in the sequel. Thor circumstances affected me more than anything else that happened in the end of the film.

@@Engist18 the role hulk play a here is actual the role of the silver surfer in the comics who gets beat down by thanos before escaping to Earth. at this point marvel did not have rights to surfer thus had use hulk as a mcguffin for the story.
the mcu hulk isn't portrayed as shud be from the comics as we rarely see his strength speed endurance toughness and immense healing factor increase with his rage. having said that base hulk would be beaten by thanos provided thanos incapacitates or knock him out quickly enough.... in a prolonged fight hulks potential has no end and thanos knows this and thus in the comics to quote him "a fight with the hulk is not one I relish". thanos is very smart he rarely risks himself in any situation where he might get beaten
@@Engist18 Thanos has defeated Hulk in the past, badly. He even easly mind controlled him once and made him attack the Avengers. It takes time for Hulk to build up his rage, it is "potentially infinite" but it will never truly reach that "amount". The only reason Thanos clameid to usually avoid fights with Hulk is because Hulk is very annoying to fight and won't go down easy but that does not mean he is not willing to fight him if he must or that he cannot win against him, he has infact humbled him and Banner before and made quick game of him. And that's perfectly normal considering that Thanos bitch slaps and no sells point blank hits from Thor and Silver Surfer on a daily basis and with his own power can go toe to toe with Odin himself with Odin even complimenting him for being able to put up such a fight. Thanos ranks around Skyfather level while Hulk is merely (Galactus) herald level and the difference in power is pretty big
Something I think gets overlooked-on top of what you said, Thanos was still wearing armor at this point. However tough he is, the armor would still presumably be even tougher.

Russo's officially stated it was Hulk's hatred of Bruce and Earth. As you said, he was tired of being Bruce's "cleaning boy". He will come out if Bruce dies (like he did on the Bifrost bridge in Thor Ragnarok).
nah man ragnarok's plot was revolving around hulk taking control away from banner even more. Kept banner away for years. He wanted the spot light and to be his own thing and have banner be in the background. Hulk loved the attention of being a gladiator. He wanted to pick a fight with sutr which at first glance would be a much bigger threat than thanos and he jumped at the chance to go for that fight. Nah man evidence points to hulk getting punked and scared because he never encountered a foe worthy enough to knock him out before his anger could rise enough to increase his power exponentially.

As far as ending lines go, that's up there with "As you wish" and "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads".

Remember in Civil War when Tony had the Iron Man glove when Bucky was set lose by Zemo? Those were most likely the first parts of the nanotech suit he was working on. He most likely finished the nanotech Iron Man afterwards during the events of Black Panther.

i have just realized, its funny when Mantis mentions Kevin Bacon as "Earth´s mightiest hero" while he played the villain in X Men, who are technically a part of MCU.

@10:00, when Cap caught Proxima’s spear and walked out of the shadows, the folks in the theatre I went to LOST their minds. Then you see Vision and Wanda’s smiles like “Papa Cap about to ruin your day”. When the two most powerful Avengers are elated to see a dude show up, he is a bad hombre.

When I went to see this in a mall here in Kerala, the whole floor was filled with people and they were rushing in. Once we got to the door, ppl were trying to push it open. A guy was carrying 3D glasses in a box and he tripped and the glasses got scattered through the floor. Ppl were cursing and shouting. The most chaotic scene ever.
Now's the really cheesy and awkward part. Once I got in, a couple of teenagers stood in a circle down and one guy said "Infinity War ki" and the others shouted together "Jai". Two or three times. I felt like vomitting.
But then thank god they got a bit more civilized when the movie started, just a bit
