The pickup truck dream is dying and American's are refusing to buy these overpriced trucks from Ford, Chevy and RAM.
The average vehicle payment in America right now is at an all time high of $750, and truck payments get even worse with costs soaring to well over $1,000 per month.
Pickup trucks sales are on a decline in the first half of 2024 compared to last year and according to bloomberg… it’s a huge threat to Detroit’s profit engine.

Just a word of advice: slow down your pans with your camera. Or, if you like doing fast ones, just mount your camera on a cordless drill, it'll be easier on your arm.

More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire.
The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.
This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.

Same here! In my country 1200$ a month you would drive a brand new porsche, maybach, etc. Now you pay 80k for a shitty Ford or Chevy truck lol
When grocery prices have increased 25% since 2019, people will chose to buy food than to buy a new vehicle and pay the higher interest rate on an auto loan.
I bought a 2019 left over ford f-250 xlt rear wheel drive 6.2 gas for $39,400. Used it for 3 years had 70K miles on it and was offered $41,500 for it. Seen prices going up every year since I bought truck almost swapped it for the new 2024 f-250 but I said nope I’m keeping mine. It’s like brand new and it’s race red and people walk up to me every single day and praise this truck. Paid for and doing the same a $80,000 will do. You never pay sticker price on a pickup! Never. If they say nothing off go to another dealer. I’ve bought 6 brand new vehicles and never paid sticker price on any of them. Don’t get hustled into paying sticker.
Some of us payed attention and saw this coming. They can keep their overpriced rolling piles of scrap metal. My vehicles run just fine and are paid off
that couple paying $3000 a month for their junk trucks has me rolling.
And they advertise it...
I could buy a new scooter with two of there payments or a really nice bicycle with one both are cheaper to own
from experience, no American made truck is worth more than 30K. Ive owned em all and these prices are just ludicrous and no one should pay.
EVER NOTICE,, programs like this just REPEAT the exact same thing over and over.
That is because we are willing to click and comment over and over ha
Keep my 2001 Ram, no payments, only 99k miles, runs great. Don't need that fancy crap.
Only 99k miles? How? Lol I’ve put about 40k miles in less than two years.
@@Einsd619 only 40 miles a week.
They have been saying that truck sales are over for over 12 months now yet here in Nashville prices are not coming down!
Much too expensive. I can't afford these ridiculous prices so you can keep these trucks until the cows come home.
Love the hang tags at the ford dealer. “Everyday low prices.” $102,000 FORD. 😂
My used Toyota Corolla cost me $6k, and gets 26 mpg city and 43 on the highway! Adequate for my needs as a retired senior, for sure.
The problem is that price is listed in dollars. Now if the truck was listed for 102,000 Pesos, I’d be all in on it!
Crew cab 4X4 diesel dually with an eight foot bed. Top trim level. I have. 2001 F 350 Lariat 4x4 crew cab Dually with a 7.3 L powerstroke. It cost 48,000.00 23 years ago. Stuff is expensive these days.
So many incorrect points in this video yes trucks are overpriced but you are continually misrepresenting the different trim levels especially the fords.
No, it shouldn't actually be $67K for a truck. The amount of profit for the manufacturer is insane.
Can't afford $950 payments for 72 months. Even with a good down payment is still too high. $650 - $750 max.
$650 is still a joke. Should be $450.
FOR A TRUCK?? I had a $600 car payment for one of the fastest cars on the road that looked the part. But a TRUCK? Get right out of town. Take off.
A high trim truck should not be over 65k. I mean HIGH trim. You should be able to get into an entry level at mid 30's. This is crazy
Your bottom line is still too high.
@@davidthompson184 Agree. The "new"(w/inflation and interest rates) "Sweet Spot" ceiling is $350 to a max of $450 per month for us. Needless to say, I'm likely out of the new car/truck market forever. And oddly for me, that doesn't bother me now. Prices have become completely disconnected from reality.
I have a 2004 Ram 1500 truck 2wd. Paid off , still running good with 224k miles 😊
Congrats, man! 🙌👏👏
I’m a 63-year-old retired mechanic there is no way I’m buying one of these trucks. I’m sticking with my square body. Easy to fix and easy to get parts for.
A Ford will be recalled with back ordered parts for six months.
I love(d) Ford. My last 3 cars have been Fords and I have owned 6 altogether besides 2 GM products. Ford’s quality is in shambles, the CEO is a POS and you couldn’t give me a new Ford now. I hope they fire the CEO and get back to quality being Job 1 soon.
It's not about being broke, but there is no value in such ridiculously overpriced trucks. A decently accessorized Tacoma is over $60K, what kind of BS is that?
Exactly. And why tf would anyone buy a truck with a 5ft or shorter bed?! Wtf are these manufacturers thinking?! The main reason people need a truck is the fn bed.
Buying a car from a dealer is a shell game. He said it perfectly. Used car high interest rate, new car low interest rate. Even so the prices are beyond ridiculous and it's amazing that anyone is actually buying these.
Most people don’t need a truck. It’s a working men’s vehicle.
Exactly. These city slicker office workers should be driving a Toyota Corolla.
But those base model working man's trucks are even priced out of most working man's budget. Insane that a single cab 4x4 v8 silverado is 47k
Yep a 70k grocery getter. All kinds of them in my neighborhood. My dad drove trucks, but he was a contractor.
The only people that should be driving a truck are farmers, contractors or cowboys.
Well if you don't want a truck don't buy one. I encounter wild animals on my way to work quite frequently and I "feel" much safer in my truck than I would in a Prius. Wild hogs ain't no joke!
Wow, buying a truck is like paying for a luxury car. Insane!!
nice thing about luxury cars, they depriciate fast and you can find 4 year old models with low miles 50% off of the original price
Extremely overpriced plastic garbage. Pickups should cost no more than 25k
$1,000+ car payments 🤢🤮.
It's sickening. When I was in high school in the early 2000's my girlfriend's mom at the time had a $800 lease on an E-Class. I thought that was outrageous as a 16 year old. Now as a grown man with two decades of inflation, I still think an $800 payment is absurd.
my gravel bike cost $700 my e bike cost $1,100 have not owned a automobile since 2020
@@scruf153 both useless LMAOO sick investment
Some people will do anything to show off to their friends. A $1400.00 monthly truck payment is just an example.
save that for a year and spend half on a great vacation and people say I am crazy for not owning a automobile
I’ve had no problem selling used cars. Sold several this year. That’s where the market is. The truck market is too high, even if it’s used. they are loading them with too much stuff nowadays. People don’t want all that anymore. We just want the basic. Get the job done.
That's why I bought a used one with low miles. Made more sense at the time.
35K for a base 2wd.....HA HA HA
my gravel bike cost $700 my e bike cost $1,100 either one is better than any automobile where I live in Alabama everything is within a 10 mile radius
$48,000 with ZERO warranty. A trans or engine for one is > $10,000.
I watch guys at work buying trucks with 1100 a month payment . To me that’s insane .
FOOLISH ..... Never a shortage of it ......
Over 30% of my pay is taken in taxes, my groceries have doubled in price, I pay 4$ a gallon for gas, my property taxes are over 4k for an acre of land and a rancher, any social security I might get is now taxed...where in the hell do these companies think people are getting 50k+ for a vehicle plus interest payments and full coverage insurance?? FJB!!
Bro yes my gross pay is like 6k and my take home pay is nearly half of that it’s ridiculous
And to top it off I had to pay back money during tax season 😅
Let’s not forget all the dealers who were scalping new car buyers and the used car market was ridiculously overinflated from 2020- basically now
Just imagine how crazy things would get if gas prices took off again with the already inflated prices/interest rates and low selling of these trucks.
I don't have to imagine....I lived through the oil shocks of the 70s.
Yeah, when gas prices skyrocketed during the 2008-2009 financial crisis pickup truck and large SUV owners were hurting.
I have not owned a automobile since 2020 my gravel bike cost $700 my e bike cost $1,100 everything is within a 10 mile radius
@@scruf153 luckily you live in a desert with no snow or rain....won't work for those of us north of 35th parallel.
I’ve made a lot of money and I’d never pay $85k for that. Prices are insane.
No people arent broke, they are being SMART. Absolutely no one would want a entry mid size truck for 60-70k!
I'm keeping my 2015 Honda CRV until the wheels fall off!
I used to lease new car every 3 years but now I'm definitely in "until the wheels fall off" club!
Renenber when Trucks were for hauling and carrying tools ?. 9.5/10 of the 60k+ trucks on the road don't have a scratch or dent in them nor a tool box. Paying 100k to impress other men at the job site?... Because i never heard a girl say i like your truck id love to drive it and u never see girls on the road driving trucks that aren't their husband... Worthless expensive cost for nothing.
Sorry for you. All the women tell me they love my truck
Take a deep breath man… it’s gonna be ok

Spending that much money on something that loses value quickly but you’re maintaining the $1,000 payments monthly is what’s keeping a lot of people from financial freedom.
If everything is included….probably $2000 per month for a ride…this is ridiculous.
Toyota: Can't keep hybrids on lots.
Ram: Can't remove 2022 1500s from lots.
Look how Taiwan is killing it right now by snatching up all the old stamping and injection dies from American factories in the south because they aren't making old parts anymore. You can now build an entire square body chevy from the frame up thanks to these businesses. I'd rather have a square body with an LCD screen in it than one of these 100k houses on wheels. I remember when cars were cars and had levers and shit. You had to learn how to drive one which made everyone better for it.
You know, it's bad when you need therapy over the high prices
I can't afford therapy....I just buy a bottle of Jack.
@drmodestoesq yeah, they should give buyers a case of whiskey and a rx for Xanax with those prices
I have bought or leased 11 Pick up trucks since 1991. I am driving a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie at the moment and for the first time in 30 years, I cannot afford a new truck. My lease was about $550 a month with no money down. The same truck to lease is over $1000 a month. I cannot afford that. I bought my truck and I will never be able to buy a new truck in my lifetime.
If your truck is still in great shape, when the lease is up, buy out your lease. I believe in your lease paperwork, it’ll show what the buy out is and I guarantee you it’ll be significantly less than buying or likely even leasing a new one.
I’d also recommend going to your bank or credit union and buy an extended warranty just for peace of mind.
Good luck!
@@brian5o That is exactaly what I did! The buyout was 31k the value is 42k.
The ladies spending her entire income on her Tahoe. What bank even loan her that deal???😂
I refuse to pay more for a car than my mortgage.
You right. I can’t imagine a 1,000 per month truck payment. I’m retired and my total driving has gone way down. If I need to leave town on a long distance trip I just rent car from Avis for a couple of days. To have a 50K tied up it a new vehicle depreciating in my driveway is insane. I’ve got used car dealers in my town that sell vintage vehicles that have been totally restored and I’d rather buy a vintage Chevrolet s250 from the 70’s totally restored with a 350 small block then any of these new trucks. Then it’s easy for me to do regular maintenance on them.
My thoughts exactly I think I'm just going to go see if I can find a carbureted truck somewhere
What is a Chevrolet s250?
@@mikemoore1821he probably meant 2500
@@mikemoore1821 I messed up. It should have been a Cheyenne 250 which is a 3/4 ton pickup. I think the emblem used to say Cheyenne 250 , or Cheyenne 25
People arent worried about buying new cars and trucks. They're worried about keeping a roof over their head and food on the table.
I drive a 2011 Nissan Titan with 98000 miles . My payment is ZERO !
one of the good ones
Nice one bro, same to my sedan that i got for 4600 bucks cause i dont want a car loan, just basic maintenance and the normal wear and tear parts that i need to change, atleast i dont have a car loan to pay for 6 to 7 years
