I prepared with your videos for the Duolingo English test for 4 days straight. Had about 5 practice tests as well. My scores in the practice tests where mostly between 125-140. After taking the actual test, I got an overall score of 135. Packing my bags now for graduate school.
@@grnt3062 to be honest, they were tougher than the practice ones. But not very far from it though. The sections were you need to complete the spellings of words to complete paragraphs were tougher than the ones onthe practice tests. You should pay attention to those segments a lot I would advise.

@@rendi0243 yes sure, just take a few practise test that are here on this channel and find out which parts you struggle with, And then watch videos related to them. For me I felt weak in image descriptions and some of the speaking questions so I watched videos relating to that There are separate playlists for every section on this channel so make sure you take the time to listen to those tips and sample answers and just be confident you will be just fine.

I was never a fan of concerts or presentations, and, because of that, the first performance I ever watched happened when I was 15 years old. This presentation occurred in my native city; as it is a tiny town, everybody knew it would happen, including my boyfriend, who invited me to go with him. That was a ballet performance, which was the only reason for me to enjoy it at all, I had been dancing ballet for ten years at that moment, so I most liked perceiving the advanced and beautiful techniques of the ballerinas. From that experience on, I began to really enjoy watching presential performances, next week even, I am going to a theater inside a museum, one of the most fascinating places I could ever imagine visiting, to watch another ballet presentation.

Few weeks back, I went to our University fest and one of my friend was performing. She had a dance performance for which she prepared for weeks . The dance performance was a mix of both Indian classical dance and 70's retro, so it was fun to watch and it fluency in the movement was just incredible

Example, if u applied for a medical course ur comprehension will come from medical terms and languages like, the n---- gave the patient injection. The answer will b nurse. Is it how they do it

Whenever you solve this questions. remember the context of the text, and the subtleness or the nature of the text. And in questions where you are asked to add sentences, make sure your text is related to the line above it and the line after it. Don't make unnecessary claims out of the information given. I did alot of practice for the SAT so that helped me alot. Hope you found this helpful. All the best for your test!
my answer for the sample question: Regarding a performance I've watched, I want to talk about the live music performance by Project Pop at a concert called Playlist Festival in Bandung, where I currently live. Project Pop is an old musical group, and they were insanely famous in Indonesia. It's worth noting that their songs always went viral everywhere, to the extent that even the "old me" could still memorize the lyrics. They sang their iconic songs on stage like "Goyang Duyung," "Aku Bukan Superstar," and many more. The fact that I had the chance not only to watch them live but also to enjoy the performance with one of my best friends was a blessing. As for the last question, I did love how they brought their comedic personalities when they performed, entertaining the audience. Secondly, they kept the interaction lively between them and us as the audience. Also, I'm a big fan of their colorful outfits. They wore something similar to a life jacket, but with more colors than just orange; it was unique. I wish I could watch Project Pop perform live again somewhere because I believe they're going to rock the audience, including me.
Regarding a performance I've watched, I would talk about the masquerade festival in my village. This is a annual event that happens during the Christmas holiday. It entailed dance display by different types of masquerade with each being accompanied by its band and dance group. The most enthralling performance for me was the one by the Ijele masquerade. It is the biggest of all the masquerade and is adorned with different colors of materials and bells that while it is dancing, it makes unique sounds that is appealing.In conclusion,the Oghene Masquerade festival is one that I always look forward to as I get to see different performances from the masquerade at thesame time.

Since i am junior student their are a lot of performances that i saw. One of the most, fascinating performance is dancing, which i saw it before two years when i was grade ten in our morning assembly. Honestly speaking my hobby is dancing especially bale dance. I really like performing this kind of art. Since this performance is my hobby i am fond of this performance that i will never forgot it till my death.

Recently, I saw a great violinist performing with an astounding band which consisted of: a doublebass player, a guitar player, a drummer and a pianist. The event took place in a concert hall located on a small town near Madrid, the city I'm form. Although there was a considerable distance between my house and the music hall, it was worth the ride. The music performed that night ranged from a variety of styles, including: classical, jazz and rock music. One thing that caught my attention was the attitude the musicians showed during the performance. They expressed a lot not only through their playing, but also through the body movement with which they played. Moving on to the last question, the thing I enjoyed the most out of the performance was the breathtaking guitar solos the guitarist played. I am looking forward to attend the next concert this band gives anytime soon.

@@al-aehel7766 oh my practice score ranged about 120-140 if I did well and sometimes drop to 110 if I did not so that is why I was really surprised to see that the real score was much higher than I thought. I practiced in the practice exam for about 7-8 times before taking the real test and mostly crammed for individual sections on ytb or practice websites.
@@al-aehel7766 on Luke's - detready and on detpractice tadehub. If the free questions on these websites are too few for you then you should do Luke's practice tests on his ytb channel as well since they are really helpful and can come quite close to the real test, in terms of difficulty of course.
I remember vividly when I went to the live show of a famous singer who promoted his third album on a stage at the massive supermarket. Everyone was on cloud nine to see his performance and purchase his latest album too, which we had been waiting for ages since he was not someone who produced his album frequently but once in a blue moon. By the time he showed up on the stage, we all were excited to sing along with him as well as dance following the rhythm of the music. Moreover, by surprise, he picked someone from the crowd not only to give his album as a present but also to take a selfie photo with him on the stage. It was such an awesome live stage as his performance never disappointed me with an interesting thing he brought to his show to make sure no one got bored during the time. What's more I liked how generous and friendly to everyone in particular calling me as a brother when I went to him to get his signature, which made me feel as if he was my brother. These are the memories I won't never ever forget in my whole life.
Recently, i watched the football match between Chelsea and Tottenham which was held at the Stamford Bridge ,London. it was an exciting match between both the teams, the players seemed motivated and in good shape. the game was being played with good speed. Moving to the third question, i found the game very much fascinating and i was a whole lot engaged in it, and to an extent that i forgot aboout everything else and wanted spurs to win it. The match became very much tense and ended as a draw with the score of 2-2. As for the final question, i liked the intensity with which the plauyers played and they gave their all till the final whistle and even manged to score in the final minutes of the match. According to me, if they continue to play like this, then surely they will do great this season

The performance most impressed me was an NBA game. In 2018,I had a chance to visit New York City with my collegue. We went to Madison Square Garden to watch the first of our NBA live game. Although the home team was Knicks (The talents in the team roster were miserable) ,but the team manage department doing an ennormous marketing campaign. Whether the sound effects,lighting,cheerleading performance,half time show,etc. The fully performance was not only the basketball game but they're putting on a SHOW! Back to the basketball game ,both teams even play in Overtime. That was a tense and exciting game,every fans in the garden were going CRAZY though. Finally,a Knicks player shooting with a winning "Buzzer Beater"to call the game. At that moment the whole building was like "shaking". Regardless races,skin colors,countries ,everyone was shouting and hugging each other to cheer who roots Knicks won. That the best performance I'd ever got in my memories. I had such an awesome experience wathing this NBA basketball live game. It has even inspired me to visit more cities to watch different team who run the team in different ways in my spare time.
A performance that I've watched recently was the New Hope Club live concert in Bengkel Space, Jakarta, which is my hometown. New Hope Club is a singer of the famous song called "You Know Me too Well." It was a memorable performance because it was my first time to have met them. They played the music live using guitars and a drum while they sang live about all their hits songs. Moving on to the last question, my favorite thing about it was we sang together all the songs played. Moreover, I was noticed by Reece, one of the members of the group, and he replied with my heart sign. I had such a good time watching the performance and I will be waiting them to have a concert again in my country.

I watched a performance the last year in UA-cam. I was fascinated to see how the people are dancing in that speed. It was salsa and This show was a competition that couple have to demonstrate their skills. In conclusion, this kind of performance of salsa is impressive.
It was 5 years ago, when my favorite band was perform live in my province which is currently I live. Luckily I've got a ticket even it's fast to sold out. Since performance was so great and interesting, I have a lot of energy till the show ends. It's memorable for me because this was the first live show that I was went already. Although theres a lot of people the show is calm and all people are at peace to listening with their song.
I recently saw a live show of dance in my school students from different schools participated in this show.It was held in the year 2015.However, It was such a great performance by different students of different classes.It was such a memorable moment for me because I love to saw different styles of dance with my friends.

I watched a kalaripaitu performance at my home Town 4 years ago, it was an amazing show. Kalaripaitu is an ancient indian martial art form it is said to be the mother if all martial arts as it is the worlds most ancient fighting style. The performance included warrior who fought with different kinds of weapons against each other the most fascinating thing was a fighter won the fight against his opponent with the help ofa towel where as his enemy had a sowrd thier fight was bind bolgling. The other fight which i like the most was the finght in which the person used urmi , urmi is the ultimate weapon in kalaripaiutu it is a long whip made out if a metal sheet which is as sharp as a knife so its a hybrid if a sword and a whip, this wepaon in the ancient days was only used when a warrior has no last resort or when he thinks that there is no hope for his life as it was a deadly wepon. Overall, this performance will surely be with me through my life because it also inspired me to learn martial arts.
One of the best perfomance, I have watched is the halftime show of the Superbowl 54. The perfomance was in Miami and was a music and dance show. What I like the most was the music.
I have watched a concert 2 months ago . It’s a singer concert sung by King he is a great singer their he sings several songs written by him it’s in polo ground which is very famous in my area. It was great performance all of his fans were dancing and chilling . I love the way he sings so calmly and beautifully.

Last week I attended a Drag Queen Competition at a Bar named Las Horas, it is very popular amongst the LGTBQ+ community. All though the night, several drag queens performed and although all of them were very entertaining, one particular drag queen stuck with me. Her name is Eia Noel, she performed a fantastic number inspired on the movie Kill Bill, she recreated the epic last battle scene from the first movie and rather than performing just like the other girls, she actually prepared a whole choreography inspired by the battle and mixed it up with different songs, she even had over 10 dancers on stage. It was truly memorable.

Once I've whatched a Cirque de Soleil presentation. I was a long time ago, nonetheless it still is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen in my life. The performance of the trapeze artists was so fluid and natural that they seemed to have been born with such skills. What made my eyes sparkle with admiration was their always confident posture while performing the movements.
Last year i attended a luxurious wedding party where i was surprised by the appearance of indonesian famous musician or to be exact we called her indonesian's diva. That was my first time watching a singing live performance myself. being there, experience it firsthand, was giving me goosebumps. the magnificent sound of the singer, supported with a nice music composition and the exquisite set of stage light was a combination i really enjoy and what i like most during the performance.

Last week I went to a music concert which was organised by a industrial group named Bashundhara Group in the Bashundhara Convention Hall.Science I and some of my friends got music freak personality,we went to the concert. In the program , the best bands of Bangladesh performed their brilliant songs. That was really nostalgic. There was an anonymous number of people enjoying the live performance. I really enjoyed the rhythm.So, that is a performance I have watched.

While on vacation, I watched a magician perform on a cruise ship. The show took place in a grand theater with a view of the ocean. The magician showcased various impressive tricks, but the most remarkable one was transforming an empty soda can into a new one. To accomplish this, he emptied the can by pouring the soda into a cup and then proceeded to fold it multiple times. After giving the can a few shakes, it suddenly turned into a completely different one. I was really amazed by that.

Regarding a performance I've watched, I want to talk about the live music performance by Project Pop at a concert called Playlist Festival in Bandung, where I currently live.
Project Pop is an old musical group, and they were insanely famous in Indonesia. It's worth noting that their songs always went viral everywhere, to the extent that even the "old me" could still memorize the lyrics. They sang their iconic songs on stage like "Goyang Duyung," "Aku Bukan Superstar," and many more. The fact that I had the chance not only to watch them live but also to enjoy the performance with one of my best friends was a blessing.
As for the last question, I did love how they brought their comedic personalities when they performed, entertaining the audience. Secondly, they kept the interaction lively between them and us as the audience. Also, I'm a big fan of their colorful outfits. They wore something similar to a life jacket, but with more colors than just orange; it was unique.
I wish I could watch Project Pop perform live again somewhere because I believe they're going to rock the audience, including me.
Regarding a performance I've watched, I would talk about the masquerade festival in my village. This is a annual event that happens during the Christmas holiday. It entailed dance display by different types of masquerade with each being accompanied by its band and dance group. The most enthralling performance for me was the one by the Ijele masquerade. It is the biggest of all the masquerade and is adorned with different colors of materials and bells that while it is dancing, it makes unique sounds that is appealing.In conclusion,the Oghene Masquerade festival is one that I always look forward to as I get to see different performances from the masquerade at thesame time.

Since i am junior student their are a lot of performances that i saw. One of the most, fascinating performance is dancing, which i saw it before two years when i was grade ten in our morning assembly. Honestly speaking my hobby is dancing especially bale dance. I really like performing this kind of art. Since this performance is my hobby i am fond of this performance that i will never forgot it till my death.

Recently, I saw a great violinist performing with an astounding band which consisted of: a doublebass player, a guitar player, a drummer and a pianist. The event took place in a concert hall located on a small town near Madrid, the city I'm form. Although there was a considerable distance between my house and the music hall, it was worth the ride. The music performed that night ranged from a variety of styles, including: classical, jazz and rock music. One thing that caught my attention was the attitude the musicians showed during the performance. They expressed a lot not only through their playing, but also through the body movement with which they played. Moving on to the last question, the thing I enjoyed the most out of the performance was the breathtaking guitar solos the guitarist played. I am looking forward to attend the next concert this band gives anytime soon.

What was the score that you have taken in the practice exam?
@@al-aehel7766 oh my practice score ranged about 120-140 if I did well and sometimes drop to 110 if I did not so that is why I was really surprised to see that the real score was much higher than I thought. I practiced in the practice exam for about 7-8 times before taking the real test and mostly crammed for individual sections on ytb or practice websites.

@@al-aehel7766 on Luke's - detready and on detpractice tadehub. If the free questions on these websites are too few for you then you should do Luke's practice tests on his ytb channel as well since they are really helpful and can come quite close to the real test, in terms of difficulty of course.
I remember vividly when I went to the live show of a famous singer who promoted his third album on a stage at the massive supermarket. Everyone was on cloud nine to see his performance and purchase his latest album too, which we had been waiting for ages since he was not someone who produced his album frequently but once in a blue moon. By the time he showed up on the stage, we all were excited to sing along with him as well as dance following the rhythm of the music. Moreover, by surprise, he picked someone from the crowd not only to give his album as a present but also to take a selfie photo with him on the stage. It was such an awesome live stage as his performance never disappointed me with an interesting thing he brought to his show to make sure no one got bored during the time. What's more I liked how generous and friendly to everyone in particular calling me as a brother when I went to him to get his signature, which made me feel as if he was my brother. These are the memories I won't never ever forget in my whole life.

Recently, i watched the football match between Chelsea and Tottenham which was held at the Stamford Bridge ,London. it was an exciting match between both the teams, the players seemed motivated and in good shape. the game was being played with good speed. Moving to the third question, i found the game very much fascinating and i was a whole lot engaged in it, and to an extent that i forgot aboout everything else and wanted spurs to win it. The match became very much tense and ended as a draw with the score of 2-2. As for the final question, i liked the intensity with which the plauyers played and they gave their all till the final whistle and even manged to score in the final minutes of the match. According to me, if they continue to play like this, then surely they will do great this season

It seems the question of the comprehension where one is expected to fill in the missing words is based on the course one applied to study? Example, if u applied for a medical course ur comprehension will come from medical terms and languages like, the n---- gave the patient injection. The answer will b nurse.

The performance most impressed me was an NBA game.
In 2018,I had a chance to visit New York City with my collegue.
We went to Madison Square Garden to watch the first of our NBA live game.
Although the home team was Knicks (The talents in the team roster were miserable)
,but the team manage department doing an ennormous marketing campaign.
Whether the sound effects,lighting,cheerleading performance,half time show,etc.
The fully performance was not only the basketball game but they're putting on a SHOW!
Back to the basketball game ,both teams even play in Overtime.
That was a tense and exciting game,every fans in the garden were going CRAZY though.
Finally,a Knicks player shooting with a winning "Buzzer Beater"to call the game.
At that moment the whole building was like "shaking".
Regardless races,skin colors,countries ,everyone was shouting and hugging each other to cheer who roots Knicks won.
That the best performance I'd ever got in my memories.
I had such an awesome experience wathing this NBA basketball live game.
It has even inspired me to visit more cities to watch different team who run the team in different ways in my spare time.
A performance that I've watched recently was the New Hope Club live concert in Bengkel Space, Jakarta, which is my hometown. New Hope Club is a singer of the famous song called "You Know Me too Well." It was a memorable performance because it was my first time to have met them. They played the music live using guitars and a drum while they sang live about all their hits songs. Moving on to the last question, my favorite thing about it was we sang together all the songs played. Moreover, I was noticed by Reece, one of the members of the group, and he replied with my heart sign. I had such a good time watching the performance and I will be waiting them to have a concert again in my country.

Hi Luke I have taken 2 times DET for the 1st time I looked away from screen while thinking and for the 2nd time i haven't seen anywhere throughout the test completed I got my result as you are looking away from the screen. I watched a performance the last year in UA-cam. I was fascinated to see how the people are dancing in that speed. It was salsa and This show was a competition that couple have to demonstrate their skills. In conclusion, this kind of performance of salsa is impressive.
It was 5 years ago, when my favorite band was perform live in my province which is currently I live. Luckily I've got a ticket even it's fast to sold out. Since performance was so great and interesting, I have a lot of energy till the show ends. It's memorable for me because this was the first live show that I was went already. Although theres a lot of people the show is calm and all people are at peace to listening with their song.

I have a suggestion for you, teacher Luke, could you please number them or categorize them, in order to know which video is first, second and last. I want to know the order of the lessons and study more steadily rather than randomly.
I watched a kalaripaitu performance at my home Town 4 years ago, it was an amazing show. Kalaripaitu is an ancient indian martial art form it is said to be the mother if all martial arts as it is the worlds most ancient fighting style. The performance included warrior who fought with different kinds of weapons against each other the most fascinating thing was a fighter won the fight against his opponent with the help ofa towel where as his enemy had a sowrd thier fight was bind bolgling. The other fight which i like the most was the finght in which the person used urmi , urmi is the ultimate weapon in kalaripaiutu it is a long whip made out if a metal sheet which is as sharp as a knife so its a hybrid if a sword and a whip, this wepaon in the ancient days was only used when a warrior has no last resort or when he thinks that there is no hope for his life as it was a deadly wepon. Overall, this performance will surely be with me through my life because it also inspired me to learn martial arts.

One of the best perfomance, I have watched is the halftime show of the Superbowl 54. The perfomance was in Miami and was a music and dance show. What I like the most was the music.
I have watched a concert 2 months ago . It’s a singer concert sung by King he is a great singer their he sings several songs written by him it’s in polo ground which is very famous in my area. It was great performance all of his fans were dancing and chilling . I love the way he sings so calmly and beautifully.

Last week I attended a Drag Queen Competition at a Bar named Las Horas, it is very popular amongst the LGTBQ+ community. All though the night, several drag queens performed and although all of them were very entertaining, one particular drag queen stuck with me. Her name is Eia Noel, she performed a fantastic number inspired on the movie Kill Bill, she recreated the epic last battle scene from the first movie and rather than performing just like the other girls, she actually prepared a whole choreography inspired by the battle and mixed it up with different songs, she even had over 10 dancers on stage. It was truly memorable.

Once I've whatched a Cirque de Soleil presentation. I was a long time ago, nonetheless it still is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen in my life. The performance of the trapeze artists was so fluid and natural that they seemed to have been born with such skills. What made my eyes sparkle with admiration was their always confident posture while performing the movements.
Last year i attended a luxurious wedding party where i was surprised by the appearance of indonesian famous musician or to be exact we called her indonesian's diva. That was my first time watching a singing live performance myself. being there, experience it firsthand, was giving me goosebumps. the magnificent sound of the singer, supported with a nice music composition and the exquisite set of stage light was a combination i really enjoy and what i like most during the performance.

Last week I went to a music concert which was organised by a industrial group named Bashundhara Group in the Bashundhara Convention Hall.Science I and some of my friends got music freak personality,we went to the concert. In the program , the best bands of Bangladesh performed their brilliant songs. That was really nostalgic. There was an anonymous number of people enjoying the live performance. I really enjoyed the rhythm.So, that is a performance I have watched.

While on vacation, I watched a magician perform on a cruise ship. The show took place in a grand theater with a view of the ocean. The magician showcased various impressive tricks, but the most remarkable one was transforming an empty soda can into a new one. To accomplish this, he emptied the can by pouring the soda into a cup and then proceeded to fold it multiple times. After giving the can a few shakes, it suddenly turned into a completely different one. I was really amazed by that.
