Wow! What a start to our most excited for Spin-off!!! This series seems to be darker and gritter which is perfect for branching out from the main series!! Maggie and Negan together is going to be a fun ride!! Now we know The Croat is an ex savior, WOW!

maggie probably said groaner instead of walker because if she had used "walker" in an area that uses an alternative word, they would have known that she wasn't from around there.
That's very perceptive cause all ppl in bar kept calling them groaners too. I didn't notice til later but yeah it has to be a regional / group thing. Every " group" had diff names for them. Even magna group called them "sickos" all way til end of show and they part of our main group. I always giggled over that name
Guys do you remember the conversation negan had with Simon about backsliding and how when he (negan) showed up how he said the group that was running things were a bunch of animals maybe negan did take over and demoted the croet with a burned ear
So glad u said this. I had exact same thought. I truly think croat was running place when negan took over. I think he somehow left right around event's of twd cause no way like that man wouldn't "stand out in a crowd". In other words.. no way he was just hanging out w negans crew during main show timeline
I think you nailed it! This was always my theory. Negan took over but didn’t kill him. He cut his ear off and exiled him expecting him to die. He did not lol
I could see Simon & the Croat being the ones that led the slaughter of all the men in Oceanside. This would violate Negan's "people are a resource" ethos. Maybe Nrgan burned his ear off for not listening?
Remember rachel and Beatrice killed Arat because maggie and daryl walked up to stop them but they made Arat tell them she was the one who said "no exceptions" But maybe they could make croat be apart of that group. That is a good idea
To clear that up, the spin-off takes place 5-6 years after the main show. Which puts them in the eighteenth or nineteenth year of the apocalypse. Fun fact that actress that Perlie kills, is the wife of the actor who plays John Dorie.
I loved it. Even though it was filmed in Newark. (I read the casting notice but I had to move out of NY before I could audition.) The cockroaches were horrifying! I agree with Negan's "nope". LOL. I knew the Croat would be an ex savior.

Here is one experience I had, in regards to the marshal getting up shortly after being knocked in the head by Maggie, that might put some perspective on getting knocked out. I was standing next to my horse holding the reins while an inexperienced horse rider was sitting on my Thoroughbred who had her head down grazing. One of the reins had dropped from my hand so as I bent down to pick it up my horse lifted her head fast from something that had startled her and hit me square in the forehead with the top of her head. Things went black and literal white specks(stars) appeared. I was going out but I knew that I had this kid on my horse with no reins in their hands and a horse that could run extremely fast. Somehow I shook off the blackness and kept myself from going out out of fear for the kid getting hurt so the marshal waking up quickly out of fear of walkers is possible.
I loved the episode, the intro was sick! felt good to finally be watching something exciting again coming off of Fear. Its going to be awesome seeing this universe in a big city environment like NYC. Considering all we ever see is woods & forests. Despite their differences Negan and Maggie just go so well together. The show is gonna be really good!
This was definitely an amazing first episode. I have to say that I’m terrified to watch Maggie kind of go the way negan went in season 6 cause when she was holding the gun she almost did what he did to glen and that made her stop and realize that she might almost seem the same as him.
They're all the Same as him, Nega was never a 'Bad guy' I don't think anyone in the show has ever been a bad guy. You do what you have to to survive. Ricks group deserved worse then what Negan did. Glenn and Abrahams deaths were deserved.

Because we all are going to want to know what happened to Negan's family, what really happened that caused negan to shoot another marshall and four others. What happened in the raid in which they kidnapped Herschel. And I really think that this Marshalls change of attitude is going to come when he finds the family member that he has the address to in New York.

@@zeleeba8774 if the kid was alive he or she should be with negan. and the way he mentionned I payed for what I did ... it's not good. Annie knows about negan past so she don't leave him.
Loved the title screen (hype!) and the theme! I enjoyed pretty much everything about this first episode, did we break the spinoff curse?? Amc was smart to open their wallets for this one!
I can see Croat being the original leader of the Saviors and maybe the whole slaughtering of Oceanside pissed off Negan.. remember when the girls at Oceanside were hunting them down bc they killed what's her names little brother. Negan doesn't condone killing little kids. Another thing I noticed was Negan wasn't wearing his wedding ring.. I don't think Annie and his child are dead. I think she's hiding from the Marshalls and him saying I think I paid for what I did means he's not able to raise his child? I loved this episode, I can't wait to see where it goes
When they filmed glen and abes death they actually filmed everybody getting killed because they were worried somebody with a drone would have seen the deaths and leaked it before the start of the next season so that's what they did fun fact lol
I think that the magistrate and other guys did something to Annie and their kid and Negan killed them in retaliation. And that when Pearlie hears what really happened he's going to be on Negan's side because he said he was a family man and would do the same if someone came after his wife and kids.
Guys I think u missed an Easter egg when the marshal in the parking lot picked up the book he was looking at locations you can see Macon from the walking dead game series with lee everet and clemintine
The thing that confuses me is that in the finale of the main show after the one year time jump they show the people of hilltop in the community fully rebuilt and thriving so I wonder if Croat’s raid caused them to destroy hilltop (or what I originally thought when I first saw the episode was that Maggie was lying to Negan ((which she still could be)) or she was turning Negan into the New Babylon and it was just a cover story) idk tho either way great first episode
Do you think Croat was Negans sidekick before Simon? But something major happened like what Simon did to the scrapyard people and he exiled him or Croat had to escape ?
Imo i think croat was the man running sanctuary when negan took over. Croat just doesn't seem at all like a follower. He has no fear of Negan. I don't seem him bending a knee at all. He looking for negan so he has to not fear him and for that reason I just think he got overpowered and maybe stayed a but and then either ran off to his fav place or possibly on a mission and got stuck on island
Croat was the old leader of the Saviors. in one episode Negan tells and warns Simon about backstabbing him & said that when he came it was ran by a bunch of animals AKA CROAT
I think The Croat was the previous leader of the saviors. Negan once mentioned he took over the role as leader of the savior's after overthrowing the previous leader. It even Explains It On The Walking Dead Wiki page
I remember somewhere in Negan's backstory that he actually did take over the Saviors from someone. I don't remember if they were talking about the comic version bc I know it wasn't The Walking Dead. I have watched the series 3 times.
Hey, couldn’t Herschel’s kidnapping and Hilltops problem with Croat be simply prevented and neutralized by Maggie giving a shout to The Commonwealth? She still has friends, like Eugene and Ezekiel, there, yes? If so, the Commonwealth soldiers would take care of the problem rather handily… But then of course there would be no story to tell for Dead City.
From my understanding, Negan did form the saviors but they took over and “saved” the sanctuary from some crazy people in charge. Maybe Croat was one of the guys running the sanctuary before Negan and the saviors showed up.
@@yjdaniel8237 Shortly after they announced this spinoff was happening the showrunners said it was 2 years after the TWD finale. A one year time jump happened in the finale, so it's been 3 years since we last saw Hershel...but it's only a 2 year jump from the finale to this.
@@kimberlywilmoth9184 I know what they said which is why I was surprised to see how old Hershel looks. They can say whatever they want lol. When we last saw Hershel the time period from when he was born until Maggie saw Negan again was at least 8 or 9 years. The new Hershel is at least 15 or 16, or at least appears to be that age and I have a sneaking suspicion that Hershel and Negans adopted daughter are going to have eyes for each other. Just my thoughts on it
This debate btw Maggie and Negan idk think anyone puttin him/herself in that position would be the same way its just that i hope writers don't overdo it at the point where everytime there's a dispute we have to go back to it. But like the episode in general 8/10 good start and as a Croatian myself pumped for this villain. Love the reactions keep up the good work ✌🏽🖤
Just think, if this were FTWD, the writers would've mentioned Glenn 12 more times, there would be five more args between them, and half the episode would've been flashback scenes. 🙄😂
I think he meant his baby died cause Annie refused to get medical help during her pregnancy snd her condition is being overlooked by everyone. If that amniotic fluid abnormality was not fixed it would cause a total fetus death or still born birth or if born to term some serious health issues for baby that could then also lead to death I'd untreated. I think don't u think I paid is the loss of loved ones. Meaning he took her loved ones and then lost his own loved ones. Like whatever u put out into this world always comes back onto u
Having watched every second of walking dead content I already knew who Negan was, so to me this wasn't "catching people up" it was establishing the legacy and legend of Negan. The line up and Glenn's death was over 10 years ago, and a few state lines away but the legend of Negan has spread across the wasteland. He's the last gunslinger with a baseball bat.😎
Hi guys, yeah, I liked the opener. good tension and action. I, too, don't get this New Babylon stuff. Why move Hilltop to N.J. not far from the Hudson River crossing to Manhattan? That's 250 miles in wrong direction. Why not pick a spot between Alexandria and the Commonwealth? Oh, well, guess we'll see how it unfolds. Hoping for lots of TWD connections and action in the quest to save Hershel.👍👍
Thank you guys for your reaction ! Being in the UK, we cannot watch AMC+ and it has not yet been announced on any streaming services !! Do you think you will ever have a Patreon to share your full reactions ?? Keep the videos coming, these are awesome !
I think potentially the Croat killed that 16yr old when the saviors first fount hilltop, and we know negan has a soft spot for kids and he fount out and then punished him
I didn't last 10 minutes with this. Neither Maggie or Negan are favorite characters of mine, especially Negan. I know he's a fan favorite, but Rick should've killed him when he had the chance. He shouldn't even still exist. Also I guess I may be all TWD-ed out. I don't know. Your enthusiasm makes me want to give it one more try though. You guys are the best reactors!
Negan told us in twd season 8 that simon and him took over the place together. So the group was already being led by someone i think negan just created the idea of them being called the saviors.
One thing I can't stand about Maggie is how come she didn't go ask Alexandria or Commonwealth for help she acts like they weren't going to help her or at least she could have went to go stay at Alexandria or Commonwealth why go look for a other place to stay if there was no more Hill Top but Maggie goes and looks for Negan to ask him for help after she ran him off and told him that he couldn't stay at Alexandra and Commonwealth and Hill Top it doesn't make any sense
To be fair, Maggie didn't run him off from any of the communities. Negan chose to leave. Maggie specifically said she couldn't forgive, but they would be welcome because he'd earned his place. Anyhow, I can also see why Maggie might just leave; she's done that before. And also, it could even be that Commonwealth's Mercer/Ezekiel/council even took a vote and decided to not send any of it's soldiers into Manhattan, versus staying to protect CW. It's not farfetched or impossible.

We're 18-19 years in the apocalypse in this show. It has been a while for them.
Nope it's 12 years in ":An earlier statement by AMC executive Dan McDermott that the series is based in Manhattan where the walkers have been causing destruction for 12 years (after the first The Walking Dead)."
@@brittanylewandowski6200 TWD ended 13 years in so already that is easily false. Hershel was 10 years old in the finale, and he's clearly at teenager in Dead City. Plus Lauren Cohan did an interview with Ouch! Magazine and said it's been 5-6 years since TWD's finale.
It's 2 years after the end of TWD, which puts it around 15 years into the apocalypse.
@@brittanylewandowski6200 No Dead City is around 15 or 16 years into the apocalypse.
Title screen hypeeeee 😁
Ayyeeee. Two uploads.. one day... Let's gooooo!!! Talk about DEDICATION🎉🎉🎉
I think Maggie knows the Croat wants Negan and that if she brings Negan to him then he will let Hersel go.....
Perfect first episode in my opinion, and awesome reaction as always. :D
I’m glad the showed it makes the viewers not forget what Negan did and how impactful it was, that it’s now a tales being told within the universe Glenn legacy lives on
I have been looking forward to you guys during a reaction to Dead City!!! Fantastic as always !!!
When i first saw the scene where the rat's tail & then it's head popped out of that one silent assassin walker's mouth i didn't even realize it was a rat & i thought it was some sort of mutation in the mouth
hey guys my theorie is the magistrate and 4 people killed annie and negan's child. Negan killed them. everytime someone speak about annie he is looking saddly at the bracelet.
I hope they didn't kill the kid and he is now in New Babylon.
@@zeleeba8774 if the kid was alive he or she should be with negan. and the way he mentionned I payed for what I did ... it's not good.
Annie knows about negan past so she don't leave him.
@@mrFslim No, I mean kid is in New Babylon, but they can't give him to Negan because he's a criminal.
@@zeleeba8774 no I don't think so however Negan will go and kill everybody to take his kid back for sure.
When Negan and The Corat meet The Corat will say to Negan '' who are you'' Negan reply back "who do you think you are talking to''
Loved the title screen (hype!) and the theme!
That actor is really good at playing a villain
@@kdizzle901 I agree. He comes off as real creepy lol
When they filmed glen and abes death they actually filmed everybody getting killed because they were worried somebody with a drone would have seen the deaths and leaked it before the start of the next season so that's what they did fun fact lol
Good so far way better than the excretable fear!
This episode was awesome. Glad we all get to watch a show we can enjoy. Fingers crossed 🤞
Hi guys, i had already watched the episode and was waiting for ur reaction. Priceless! When the roaches attacked u were screaming😅
I think that the magistrate and other guys did something to Annie and their kid and Negan killed them in retaliation. And that when Pearlie hears what really happened he's going to be on Negan's side because he said he was a family man and would do the same if someone came after his wife and kids.
Great opening episode 🔥
Strong pilot! Loved it, and I love the way it was shot. Awesome reaction/discussion! I'm so excited for this show and to hear your thoughts.
Guys I think u missed an Easter egg when the marshal in the parking lot picked up the book he was looking at locations you can see Macon from the walking dead game series with lee everet and clemintine
Awesome!
Ive started saying title screen hype while watching fear for myself. If yall sell merch id definitely buy a shirt that said it
The thing that confuses me is that in the finale of the main show after the one year time jump they show the people of hilltop in the community fully rebuilt and thriving so I wonder if Croat’s raid caused them to destroy hilltop (or what I originally thought when I first saw the episode was that Maggie was lying to Negan ((which she still could be)) or she was turning Negan into the New Babylon and it was just a cover story) idk tho either way great first episode
…and, Maggie was about to kill a husband and father, Armstrong, after Negan put her on blast.
Dope Video!!! SideNote ive always wondered where Y'all got those lights from in the back 🤔
Hey, couldn’t Herschel’s kidnapping and Hilltops problem with Croat be simply prevented and neutralized by Maggie giving a shout to The Commonwealth? She still has friends, like Eugene and Ezekiel, there, yes? If so, the Commonwealth soldiers would take care of the problem rather handily… But then of course there would be no story to tell for Dead City.
You should have kept in that with negan arguing with Maggie talking about him not being the bad guy . Was a great scene
From my understanding, Negan did form the saviors but they took over and “saved” the sanctuary from some crazy people in charge. Maybe Croat was one of the guys running the sanctuary before Negan and the saviors showed up.
So if hilltop was just completely moved will be see Lydia and other Hilltoppers 🤔
Whats the year jump? With Hershalls age it seems 4 years for the least! Any points of view?
At least 4 or 5
It's 2 years, that's it.
@@kimberlywilmoth9184 that’s impossible, look at Hershel. Clearly more than 2 years have passed.
Love the reactions keep up the good work ✌🏽🖤
It wasn’t overdone at all in this first episode
@@kdizzle901 wasn't sayin it was, just sayin hope they won't go that way (writers)
Just think, if this were FTWD, the writers would've mentioned Glenn 12 more times, there would be five more args between them, and half the episode would've been flashback scenes. 🙄😂
@@MHrickgrimes 😂if they were FTWD writers would consider even watching it after that sht show of half a season😒
Am I the only one who sees Marshal Pearlie Armstrong and is immediately reminded of DMC from RUN D.M.C.?
I think Negan is talking about how much
he helped are group. It is time to let the past go please 😢😊❤
It was a good first episode liking it so far
Eugene maybe the ear happened when Eugene made the guns backfire.
Maggie
Negan
Hershel Jr.
Croat
Marshall
Ginny
Annie
The showrunner actually confirmed it in the exclusive that croat did get the iron
Yeah you can clearly see his right ear has been burned.
@@Alexs.2599 yup, we don't really need the showrunner to confirm it to know that but nice of him to so so
@@Hananismail619 Yes it was lol. It's so obvious.
Thank you guys for your reaction ! Being in the UK, we cannot watch AMC+ and it has not yet been announced on any streaming services !! Do you think you will ever have a Patreon to share your full reactions ?? Keep the videos coming, these are awesome !
Also Croat could be a leader of a old outpost. How far did outposts go? Maybe Croat moved that outpost away and they weren't part of the war.
I think potentially the Croat killed that 16yr old when the saviors first fount hilltop, and we know negan has a soft spot for kids and he fount out and then punished him
The quite walker did have a large rat in his esophagus
I would like the Croat to be further in the spin-offs, maybe in the series adaptation of Clementine, he could be the leader of the New Frontier.
he was probably the first burn victim
The worst part of this episode was the fact Maggie didn’t take the Marshalls gun when she knocked him out
These New Babylon guys look very similar to the guys from the group which Mishonne had seen in her last episode
Stick with it!!
@@NocBroNation Thanks! I know I'll give it another chance LOL
By the look of Hershel, it has been at least 5 years
Y'all think that bracelet belongs to Annie the way he's holding it?
didn't morgen run in to those sherif type characters? i also wonder why the sheriff ,mentioned when Negan killed glenn.
I think Maggie agreed to bring Megan to the Croat to get Hershell back.
Magistrate is like a judge
