I gotta say, I love your videos! I love how your videos showcase a real med student who balances school, studying, working out and as much as a social life as she can get. It's so motivating!
I would love to see a video about med school "hacks"
^I agree
Yaaaaaaaasssssssssss🙃
For future videos, can you lower the music a bit and increase the volume when you are talking, the levels of volume don't match which bothers me a bit. Other than that, great videos! I would like to see more organizational videos!
What kind of doctor do you plan to become?
can u do a video on budgeting and how you afford things in med school?
Am I the only one watching this video during quarantine? And also, I miss candy the cat😥❤
These type of videos are awesome! Keep up the awesome work! :)

yeah...i was thinking bout that😟
whaddupchunt ikr like what sort of magic does she use?
A step 1 study materials video would be cool! Like what resources do you use? How do you organize them? What would you have done differently? Is there anything first years could/should do to best prepare in a more indirect way? You're vids are dope! Thanks!
Edit: Just saw that this idea was already posed haha.
Love this!!!
Could you maybe do a video on what you did in college specifically (after your neuro class when you realized you wanted to be a doc) to prepare for getting into med school? So like shadowing, volunteering, other clinical work in undergrad? Also, I would love to see a "study with me" video to see specific studying techniques you use, like do you use practice tests, how do you memorize, how do you actively study, etc. :)
I try to go to bed at 10 every night while I'm still an undergrad. I have to get my sleep lol especially this past semester when I had physics at 8:00 AM. I'm excited to see more of your videos!
I luv u so much your one of the best you tubers ever!

Hello Jamie, I'm so glad to find your channel. I'm gonna pass high school and go for medical stream. You're such an ideal for me! Can you please make some videos on snacks and food that you cook? Love and regards:)
I love your videos! you are amazing! How do you manage to find time for lectures, study, socialize, work out, and edit that awesome vlogs?? I feel Im a professional procrastinator haha
I found your videos by chance when looking up study schedules and subscribed because I thought your other videos were cool! I freaked out when I recognized the froyo place. I practically live there :-P ... Small world

Where are your reading glasses from? Also LOVE your videos, so inspiring!
Hi Jamie I'm in love with your med school series video! I'm currently taking a gap year so your videos have been really helpful for motivating myself ;)
i know that I'm getting ahead of myself but could you upload a video on the materials/textbooks you use to study for school/usmle? just a little curious lol
Thanks!!
+Jiwon Kim USMLE materials will be discussed in a vlog that's being released in couple weeks!
awesome video! i love these kinds. what medical school are you attending? also, in your "whats in my med school backpack?" video you mentioned a technique that you and your friends have been using to study something like copying slides and printing them in a binder. I'm pre-med and that seemed like a really efficient way to study, i'd love to see a video on your studying techniques especially that particular one. keep up the awesome videos!
+Sabreena Mendes will be covering the question about note taking in one of the upcoming vlogs! I'll also be making a FAQ video soon so let me know if you have any other questions
Hey! I'm new to your vlogs and I was wondering how much time a day you devote to studying? And also, does school for you run a 9-5 or 9-1 schedule? I've heard of both and was wondering which is more common. I really like your vlogs! They're very realistic and make med school seem doable :) thank you!
New subbie here and also a medtech student from philippines! 😊💕
you're an inspiration! do you have a job? how do you fund yourself? I mean monthly expenses etc. im an undergrad at Yale NUS and it's really difficult to balance two jobs and college!

Love your videos. Could you please do one with med books you recommend? Thank you!
Do you have any tips on becoming a morning person? :)
Also your coffee machine looks amazing~ I dont think I've seen it before. Do you have the brand name?
Ahhh i'm going to have my ck on june 29th! I hope it goes well. Its truly is a beast! Wish me luck!
how did it go?
I start med school february 2017 in Denmark University of Copenhagen :D !
Good luck!
Hi! Can you make a video on Step 1 study materials?? I see that you have your first aid book spiral bound, but it looks so thin! Did you divide it into multiple books by subjects?? I'd love to see a video on that! Thank you!! LOVEEE YOUR VIDEOS!
+thelittlethings We're working on a STEP 1 video! I split up my First Aid book into 4 books. I actually regret it because it's useful to have all the chapters together so you can refer back from one section to another (especially subjects like microbiology). But I do like that it's spiral bound-- it makes it much easier to write on the margins
Can we get a home tour? Love your videos!!
This might be a stupid question but, does the hospital provide your white coat? Where do you get your scrubs? What do you wear when you're going to the hospital?
I'm going to UC Davis for my undergraduate. Then, hopefully I'll get into medical school after. I chose UCD over UCSD, and UCI and a few other schools(:
I just subbed because you've just shown me that I can still do UA-cam and go through med. school.
UA-cam is like my creative outlet, while my goal is to be a dermatologist. Right now im in this weird in between stage, its coming to the six month mark after earning my BS degree in biology. I would have loved to be applied to med schools by now, but my GPA isn't really a competitive one (3.3) and I don't have any experience besides some volunteer work i did in high school.
I intended to do a bridge program, but my mother has successfully talked me into doing a PA program instead. Her reason being: 1) she would rather spend money on something I can work with and earn money with (in case im not accepted into a program right off the back) 2) Making sure my health (Type 1 Diabetic since the age of 9) is in order, and if anything were to happen to her, that i would be able to do something that will allow me to afford great health insurance, and 3) We kind of think if I do a PA program, it would be almost impossible not to be accepted into a Med. School program. Also if I change my mind (lets be real, the commitment to Med. School is a heavy one) then I will still have a pretty good profession under my belt that I can be passionate about, will give me food on my table, and solid health insurance I can count on.
Right now however, im feeling my motivation starting to dwindle. I want to do Medicine, but im also very passionate about UA-cam. And I find that doing UA-cam helps to motivate me to continue on my journey in Medicine. The road that im taking in order to reach my goals in the medical field however, is accumulating so many different prerequisites that I have to juggle, and I fear that I may have to give up UA-cam. I feel like If i no longer have time to express myself creatively the way that i want, it affects my view on everything else. I feel like i will get bored, or get burnt out. My mother thinks that this youtube thing is something I can just sweep aside because it isn't earning any money, but it's much more than that for me. Its the fuel to my fire. I know it sounds strange to connect "Beauty" UA-cam to Medicine. But to me, they are my right and left shoe. If I throw one shoe out of the window, then whats the point in going anywhere. If I do insist on going with one shoe on, how far will I go before my other foot starts bleeding, is severely injured, and I just end up sitting in the middle of the road?
Seeing your channel has given me hope to do both of my passions. After all I would rather tread a steep and tiring incline with both shoes on, then walk down the street with only one.
+BeautiFuFu Hi Funmi, thanks for your message and sharing your story. Ultimately you will have to decide for yourself whether you want to go to PA school or med school. I think PA is probably one of the greatest professions out there (ranked #7 on Glassdoor Best Jobs in America!: www.glassdoor.com/Best-Jobs-in-America-LST_KQ0,20.htm). The programs are shorter and there is good demand out there. You can even specialize in dermatology if that's what you're passionate about. That said, being a physician is also a great option. Of course the prereqs and the application process is grueling but if I didn't think it was worth it I wouldn't be in med school now. Only you truly know what's best for you and what would make you the happiest. Keep in mind that you don't always have to apply to medical school (or PA school) right after graduation. There are plenty of people in my class who worked in various fields before applying and coming to medical school. Think long term. Maybe you can look into working for a dermatologist or maybe shadow a PA (these experiences will give you some clinical exposure which is important for applying to both PA and med schools). I hope that you do keep up with your UA-cam channel and continue to fight hard for everything you're passionate about! I wish you good luck!
great vedio..but how do you find time for studing !! im a medical student and i spend the whole day studying and sometimes i need more time !
this is really exhausting me 😧
very nice vlog! what did you use when vlogging on the go?
+John Cao I used my iphone 6s for this vlog!
Great video! Did you have to ask permission to record these videos? I'm thinking of doing the same but don't want to get in trouble!
Hi Jamie I see you have a car, an apartment, and a cat!! How can you afford this?!? Can you PLEASE make a video about med school expenses and how you afford it or if it's affordable for people who come from a poor family?!? Thank you I love your videos! @thestrivetofit
Also(hope this is not too much to ask for) can you blog more of your friends!! Or more of your social life !? For everyone tells me how it is difficult to have a wonderful real fun personal life as a med student! If you can prove that statement to be a myth or the truth that would be absolutely amazing! Thank you love
+Syeda Mehreen This is a great question. Stay tuned! we're working on a video about the costs of medical school
Watching this just stresses me out for med school

how long do you exercise for and do you go to the gym every morning? I thought I would have no time to work out during medical school
+Imtiaz Imam if you make it a priority, you definitely can! I go to the gym about 4-5x/week. lots of students in my class workout regularly- it's a great study break!
+Imtiaz Imam my workouts are anywhere from 45 min to 1.5 hrs long depending on the mood/schedule
+TheStriveToFit

One thing.. Even if this video is from 30 April: Make sure to get the magnetron cleaned when it's dirty.

i'm surprised that there's not a lot people in class.in turkiye we have to sign when we are in lecture and students must go to uni.i wonder your university, which one?
+Hazilla Land In a lot of US medical schools, the lectures are recorded and uploaded online so students can watch from home
+TheStriveToFit himm interesting.but when i stay at home i can be lazy.i guess going to school is best.thanx for reply
can i please request for a what is in my car video?
I knew there would be a Nigerian in this vlog!
can you do a car tour please
not a lot of people in lectures... is that normal??
+Starlight 567 It's pretty common because lectures are recorded and posted online
would you say it is more beneficial to go to lectures?
+Starlight 567 will be covering this question in an upcoming FAQ! let me know if you have any more questions!
+TheStriveToFit Hey, I wanted to know how many times you study a chapter/topic before the exam?
TheStriveToFit I have a few questions if thats okay :)
1) How do you improve long term memory? As in there is a lot of content, so how to remember all of it?
2) Organising tips
3) Insight into how to make notes for medicine
can someone please explain to me how she affords medical school, her own place & own car
loans
***** nah but loans wouldn't cover THAT much.
in total it would be an insane amount TBH
+Mel B Yes, loans would. the cap for federal loans is 44k/ year, but she can also take out loans from other sources (gradplus, private etc.).
Also, she might not even have to take out that much if she has some sort of scholarship/grant or her parents help pay for some of the costs.
+Gisele Toumi then TBH it's crazy that someone would take out that many loans just to have that lifestyle
paneer is like ricotta cheese but made from whole milk
How old are you?
Out of the 7 days, do you like not touch a book or anything academic related for one day ? lol
You must have money, most Med students can not afford to live like that.
SAKE PASE M.D her dad is a doctor too if I remember correctly.
