Same thing happened to me and I stopped playing my violin. I got so discouraged and angry that I was about to sell my violin but my mom stopped me. I don’t/can’t play it anymore but I occasionally clean it. Teachers are supposed to be the ones that support us because we are the future, but for some reason all of the art teachers I’ve seen were pretty much the opposite. It’s sad to know there are many people like us out there.

Fortunately for me, my last art teacher was the only bad one I had and the ones I had prior were amazing but I can't imagine how difficult it would be to have more than one encounter with teachers like that. have you tried using bleach on ink? if u but down a thick layer of most inks (not printing inks) they change colour when painted on with bleach! we’re doing it in one of my classes at the moment and it’s really fun, black goes gold!!! i love the effect and just wanted to share it with u. ❤️❤️🖤🖤
Honestly as a first year (freshman) textiles student in the UK I’ve found your vids so helpful and inspiring. It’s been difficult to transition to the university way of working etc but after watching your vids it’s helped me to work out how i should be managing my work and also taking time to eat good food and spend time with good people. god i wish i went to art school so bad, even all the tiredness and struggling i see you go through in your videos i feel like it's truly my passion, but my parents.....so i went with pharmacy school instead :(
doda 123 I graduated last summer with a degree in biology. Guess what I’m doing now? Singing. I don’t care if I end up using my degree or not because I know I can be “successful” (whatever that means) with music. I just want to be able to pay rent/car/food, and the rest of the time I’ll be doing what I love. It hasn’t even been a year since I decided to do this and I’m already singing at hotels and getting paid for my voice. If you have passion, skill, and a desire to keep improving in your art please do it. And if it doesn’t work out in the end, at least you will be satisfied knowing that you had the courage to allow yourself the chance to explore that facet of you. You will never regret giving yourself a chance to live your dreams.
My parents wanted me to graduate with a degree that has a title like being an engineer, lawyer, doctor or architect. Since i draw, my parents think that architecture is the right course for me. Frankly i'm a bit scared at that time the idea of making buildings is just so terrifying and you have to be well verse in physics and i suck at that subject but still i took and entrance exam to the course. I failed the test but my college recommended me to Interior Design and the feeling of failing didnt reach to me it was strange but i felt relief somehow. I checked the subjects that i have to take to that course and it was aligned to what i want. It was just the right track for me so i told my parents that i would take ID but i could see in their reaction that they were very disappointed but still i enrolled in the course and i cant wait to study and go to school for once in my life. My mother told me that school should never be fun and you are there to learn how to earn money so it doesnt matter if its fun for you or not but i told her if its not what i enjoy then there is no use because i would not do my best because i have no drive whatsoever either intentionally or unintentionally. So do what you love your parents will come to understand you and i always remember what my professor said "Do what you love and money will always follow."
Love seeing your art process. Does your school know about your apprenticeship? Do they think being a tattoo artist is a viable artistic job (I think it is of course but I wondered what the ‘establishment’ thought about it. I thought the ‘failed me prints were darling
