Another masterclass in what differentiates a good singer from those just ordinary
This makes me feel nostalgic for the time when Amira, because of her youth and the ambitious music she chose to sing, was considered almost miraculous. She is no longer a child prodigy because she isn't a child any more. She will be judged differently going forward. Not to do so would be an injustice to her enormous talent and potential. I am very interested to see how she develops as a artist and interpreter and I really hope that she sticks to the classical genre, or even ventures into musical theatre. What a Disney princess she would make...and also, I signed up as a member!

I totally agree, it's very difficult for 'child prodigies' when they are no longer children and are compared to their adult contemporaries. But what a miracle this performance is and how wonderful it is so beautifully captured forever. There's no telling where Amira will go from here but she is so gifted with intelligence, too, I feel she could do anything.
@@BangkokVoiceCoach Whether or not she persists with music I'm interested to see how her life unfolds. She has a social consciousness and is such a good communicator, she loves nature and has an engaging personality. She could indeed do anything.
Even after seeing many performances by Amira I just can't comprehend how a young child, as here, can sing like this and also radiate some kind of emotion that brings many to tears AND connects us both to something mysterious and, for those who are open, to one another. Often described as an angel, makes one wonder! And now she's 19, her recent more grown up performances are superb. So glad that her parents prevented her overdoing it and damaging her voice. As to non-vocals, she listens to others & seems to have an inner metronome too!
Not only does she sound like an angel but here her pronounciation of the Italian language is superb. Just imagine achieving all of this at the age of eleven in a totally strange country.

This is my favourite O mio babbino caro by her. Just how such a small girl totally casts a spell on the crowd, the backup singers and the orchestra. Most prodigies, one admires how technically advanced they are for their age. They lack some depth or essential nature, which is ok because they are still kids. This is what elevates Amira to genius level.
I do agree there is an emotional maturity which is very hard to fathom. She is not just immigrating - for example - Sarah Brightman etc …. She is channeling the truth behind the music more than most grown ups can. She also holds not just the audience but all the musicians on stage with supreme authority.
Age 11, two years into her singing career. She is outstanding....I knew she was one of the greatest talents I had ever heard even at 9 years old on Holland's got Talent. She is breathtaking in her talent and abilities.

One thing I loved about Amira's connection to songs when she was that age singing was the way often on a long note, her arm accompanied the note out, almost unconsciously... Beautiful.
Also, at the end of a song.. the slow movement of her lowering her arms ... Kind of gave an indication that she was just slowly returning from where a song had taken her.
Yes, her musical talent is really quite phenomenal. While I confess that I am no musician, I nevertheless do believe that Amira will become one of the great opera stars of the 21st century!

Yes she’s good, a very gifted child, but she is human.
amira is a perfect singer she fas the most wonderful voice she never sing out of tune she has the best sounding voice ever
Her breath … she was a winning distance runner two years before singing seriously. She would have gone to the Olympics for South Africa were it not for the CoVid epidemic.
May I make a couple of suggestions of her performances for you. Everything she does is amazing. 1) in the stars, is a song she co-wrote as a tribute to her grandmother who always encouraged her singing and told her “one day you will sing on television “. The grandmother passed away after Amira’s debut on Holland’s got talent. She got to see her granddaughter sing on television. Absolutely beautiful performance. 2) Little drummer boy, shows her diverse talent. It’s just plain FUN.

You probably won't want to review another video of Amira singing this aria, bur the following year at Classics is Groot 2016 she produced a sparkling rendition, that to me sounds flawless. She sang this at quite a few occasions when young, I think she refined it with practice.

Truly enjoyed your review. this version is even better than the 10-year old with Andre. Do wish it was his orchestra doing it and not this one that ran on after she was finished.
Amira voice is liquid gold. I always cry when I listen this song by her. Nevertheless I would like you to react to another musical genius call Angelina Jordan. She is 17 now, but she won Norway got talent when she was 8, singing the songs Gloomy Sunday, I am a fool to want you, both by Billie Holiday, Bang bang by Nancy Sinatra, and Summertime by George Gershuin. She has about 200 performances on youtube and Tik Tok, from about 90 different singers, most of them better than the original. She rearrange every song personally at least since she is 9. She deserves your attention and analisis. I hope you enjoy her amazing singing

Amira sang Nessun Dorma, and Ave Maria in Argentina age 11, I think as well. The interview version, is long, however it's a great opportunity to see Amiras Charm, Whit and Sense of Humor. Vincent is also playing violin. He, Amira and the hostess have a wonderful interaction. It's a must see. Watch in it's entirety.
