Englishman Arthur Walker also known as “Arturo Caminante '' founded Discos Fama in 1968. With an amazing ear for talent, Chavela y Su Grupo Express, Los Humildes, and Brown Express made Fama the most successful label on the West Coast in the 1970s and 80’s. Legendary Norteño band from Mocorito, Sinaloa, Los Tigres del Norte cut their first major hit with “Contrabando y Traicion'' for Fama. Los Tigres recorded eight albums over a 16 year partnership with Arturo Caminante and Fama, helping them become one of the most important Mexican labels in California.
