- A quick dive into the lore of Jin-Gitaxias, the blue phyrexian praetor. For those who want the rundown on the villains of Phyrexia: All Will Be One and March of the Machine. There's an exhaustive history of the phyrexians and their plane on my channel but I'll be posting a lore short for each praetor over the coming days

Its not that they turn against their beliefs, its worse. Their beliefs are enhanced and twisted to align with the desires of phyrexia. Ajani wants to protect his pack, he can do this by giving them the gift of eternal life, phyresis.

I wonder which of the praetors will survive the longest in the story. I'm sorta betting on Jin since he strikes me as the type to have contingency plans. Then again, he did nearly die on Kamigawa...

Urabrask is definitely going to be the only one that survives and will be the leader of the remaining phyrexians.
Umbrask has decent chance of signing a peace treaty and being left to his own devices all the others are definitely dying sooner or later.
Urabrask will live the longest.

I kinda love that Phyrexia has essentially become MtGs version of the Grey Goo scenario. A single drop is enough, they convert everything into more of themselves, and is in the grand scheme of things unstoppable.
The Eldrazi covered Cosmic horror themes, while Phyrexia deals with scifi horror.
Sadly wotc killed Phyrexia compledly in March of the maschines 😔
Have the posting of shorts affected the channel's views at all? I hope so. You deserve way more views than you have.

They have just kind of gone down the rabbit hole with these last few sets. Plot armor after plot armor for phyrexia. It almost feels like a rushed game story where the main characters randomly die off screen with no explanation.
In what way? Like the Gatewatch chickening out with the Sylex was contrived and r*tarded. But aside from that, it'd be plot armor for the Phyrexians to fail at this point. There's virtually no cure, certainly on a large scale, they have multiple methods of interdimensional travel, and the contagion affects nearly all things and had it's potency radically enhanced via Gitaxias' experiments
Love Jin, favorite color and he's got the best ideas. He's also very cute and has card draw.
Damn I would have loved that this was not all "solved" in one damned set. War of the spark was kinda ok but I was still not over the eldrazi. And here they managed to make me care for the faith of the multiverse... and them made me not care in one quick set.
Is Jin the least meaty of the praetors or is it urabrask

Wasnt Karn the first phyrexian plains walker since he was currpoted by the phyrexian blood from old phyrexia?

Well no. Karn's heartstone was infected, but he became a Planeswalker (pre-mending) before it could compleat him and was immune due to his oldwalker status. When he sacrificed his spark during the Mending, the infection was able to spread once more, and he quarantined himself on Mirrodin, no longer a Planeswalker, as he underwent compleation. He gained Venser's spark during the process of being cured
I was super sad when I saw Jace got compeated. not cuz I like him fuck that guy, but it means they're gonna find a way to "cure" getting compeated and that's super lame
Or and here me out, everyone dies. No fixing some of them.
If the Praetors all die and Compleation is reversed I'm simply done with MTG stories.

I don't know if it's true or not as I haven't looked it up myself but apparently the Jace that got compleated was the clone from ixilan I think it was where the Planeswalker had the ability to clone itself. That Jace apparently made a clone in lore and that's the one that got compleated
All these amazing preators ruined by march of machine story.
