Hello Andrew, I am so happy to have the vice... I'll get is cleaned up shortly and into service. Yes, there is quite a lots to keep me out of trouble, that's for sure. Thanks for watching and your support. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Paul, you look right at home in the workshop today! Thanks for the update. 👍 Edit: I enjoy the no-nonsense style of Matty’s Workshop. Good wishes have been sent.
Hello Doric, I am really pleased to be back there again, it's so nice to be pain free and to be able to move around. Fingers crossed for Matty, we emailed a bit before my first video and he gave me the encouragement to start filming. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello James, The vice is really cool... I will make a video giving more detail soon... It is very nice to be back in the workshop again. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Mick, The old Myford's have all sorts of attachments... the problem is there are so expensive and normally incomplete... Hopefully I get the saw up and running. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Matt, Yes, still hear and a slightly improved version after my operations... I am looking forward to being 100% fit again. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Jon, Thanks for dropping by. I am really pleased to be back in the workshop, and every day I get a little stronger which is great. I am keen to do more doing than talking moving forward. Take care. Paul,,
Fantastic film as always. Great to put a face to the voice and the workshop. Glad that you are on the mend. I hope Matty gets well soon too. Light duties sounds like a good idea.
Hello Carl, Thank you for your kind words, My recovery from the two operations is going well and although the light duties is somewhat limiting it won't last for ever. We are all hoping for Matty to have a speed recovery. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Tom, This hip is working well and I am working hard with all the physio daily. The vice is really interesting and I will make a more detailed video soon on it. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Congratulations on the views. The saw attachment for the Myford and the vice is very cool. I like the boxes that the taps are in, we have a good selection of taps but it can be a pain to find the one you need. Thanks for the update, you have lots of projects lined up
Hello Joseph, The total number of view is so surprising to me and I am very grateful for them. The saw attachment should be a nice asset once completed but I am super happy with the vice, I am going to get it cleaned up quite soon. The taps and dies are useful but only if you can get them cheap. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hi Paul. Love that vice, will keep my eyes peeled for one of those. You won't regret getting the retort stand clamp, best set of extra hands ever! Great idea to use a surface gauge base for the stand. I have now used the new motor on the mill in anger and it works fine, plenty of power for it's size. It should power both of your small drill presses with ease. Oh, thanks for the shout out. Cheers, Alan.
Hello Alan, The vice is super cool, I could not believe my luck to get one at an affordable price. Every time I see your retort setup I think I must get one, so very pleased to have one now. I think the plan I outlined for swapping the electric motors will be good. Thanks for watching and your support. Take care. Paul,,
Glad you've been able to get back to the workshop Paul. You certainly have a lot of projects lined up. I like the vice. I can see a lot of uses for it, a very clever design. Take care and don't over do it. Cheers Nobby
Glad to see you up and about, but please take your time with the recovery. You only want to do that once. Enjoyed the video, but I kept thinking "He's forgot his coffee". Cheers from California.
Hello Brian, I am very cautious at the moment, as I really don't want any more repair work... There's always a cup of coffee somewhere in the workshop - lol. Thanks for watching and your support. Take care. Paul,,
some great tooling and equipment, Paul That vice i have the very same one, i took the moveable layered jaws off to use as a fixed jaw for a job some years ago and can i hell as like remember where i put them in a safe place, must search them out, now you said its an expensive item😉😉👍👍 Yes, Matty i've sent him my best wishes and hope it all goes well and he comes out the other side positively, life can be cruel, we know👍👍 regards Kev
Hello Kev, The Sevo vices are really nice... I hope you find the jaws for yours. I think all the UA-cam guys are rooting for Matty, he is such a nice guy and was the person who encouraged me to start making videos... Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Mark, I have loads of stuff with missing bits stacked up, I have lots of optimism but very little action - lol. Thanks for dropping by... Take care. Paul,,
Hello Phil, Thanks... I think the Sevo vice is my favorite thing... I have wanted one for a very long time. I will be very careful on the lifting. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Tony, All's good thanks, recovering well from both operations... Light duties of not I make tea on a ration of 10 to 1 with the joiners... One of the guys I don't think he even knows where the kitchen is - lol. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Paul, Thanks... All good here, now I am more mobile I do spend less time in the workshop but when I'm there I enjoy it. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Good variety of topics making for an interesting video, Paul. Looking forward to your teardown of that special vice (vise?). Blessings from South Africa.
Hello Russel, Thanks, The vice was my favorite thing I purchased and I will get to it quite quickly as I am on light duties,. Thanks for watching and your support. Take care. Paul,,
Hi Paul, good to see you in your workshop again, and well done for those 200k views👏👏 I think everyone whose commented so far liked the look of that vise, me too!! Be interesting to see how you get on scraping that surface table, it looks good as it is. It did remind me of assisting in the calibration of a surface table just over the railway in the Broad Oak Works. We took a load of measurements and then balanced them to get a single plane to see if it was in spec ...... It looked suspiciously like cheating to me!! We were in Portsmouth last weekend for all too short a visit but it was great to see most of the family and to meet Colby, the newest member only three weeks old!! You've got lots of projects there and that bike hanging up in the background as well. Take it easy, look forward to seeing how you do your future videos. Have a great weekend!!
Hello David, The views were a bit of a sock to be truthful, but very nice. The vice is really nice and I was very pleased to get it. Interesting what you said about the Broad Oaks Works, it was a bit like that in a few MOD places I worked. Congratulations on the new member of the family... Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Dan, Thank you... The recovery is going well and I am enjoying getting back in the workshop. The views are so surprising, but I am grateful for them. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Vernon, Thank you.... I don't plan to go crazy as I did not like my two stays in hospital... Although they did do a grand job and I am pain free now. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Very good hotchpotch ! I always enjoy seeing what new tools etc you've found. Regarding that saw table for the Myford . . . If my memory is correct, I think Mr Wilding mentioned in his book, using one to cut out the Triangular parts for the Congreve table, so could well prove useful, as I'm sure you realise. When I cut mine, I hoped to be able to do them on the milling machine, for accuracy, but the X travel was not quite long enough. I resorted to a jigsaw (hardly the most accurate tool in the w/shop), followed by lots and lots of filing, the results are somewhat amateurish. Yet to build the table up, so not sure if they will be good enough yet. All the best.
Hello Colin, That is very interesting about the Congreve clock & table saw. I will have a read through the book. I actually like doing this by hand rather than the machine, it take me forever but I feel a better sense of achievement. Thanks for watching and your support. Take care. Paul,,
Hi Paul, good to see you back. I've had an idea.... With the two drills, how about getting a really long drive belt and having them both running off the motor simultaneously?
Hello Olly, That is a interesting thought, I think I would have to have them in a permanent location but as I write this response I have an idea where I could locate them. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hello Rich, I do like the tools in the original boxes... The Whitworth taps have helped me out of a hole a couple of times. Thanks for watching. Take care. Paul,,
Hi Paul. Fabulous Hotchpot. Great to see your new “acquisitions”. Plenty of projects to keep you occupied. Stay healthy. 👏👏👍😀

That slitting saw attachment for the lathe is very cool. It's amazing how many things people come up with for a lathe.
Hello Mick,
The old Myford's have all sorts of attachments... the problem is there are so expensive and normally incomplete... Hopefully I get the saw up and running.
