That was the most explained version that I've seen. I'm new to quilting with an added problem of geometry. I've seen other videos trying to explain weft, warp, lengthwise, crosswise, perpendicular to selvage and bias "quilting language" and they aren't showing what those actually mean with their hands. If they do, their camera angles are terrible. Or they just talk about the "words" like you already know what is what.
This video was fantastic to a new quilter with a geometry problem! THANK YOU! AWESOME!

I have ALWAYS struggled to make my fabric straight and could never figure out how to do it very well, much less efficiently. This video is life changing! The tip at 6:50 is a total game changer! I can't wait to try it on my next sewing project!

took apart an old dress to use in a new dress had no idea how to find the grainline. So i found the bias and put the pattern pieces on the fabric placing the grainline arrows on the bias. Which for what i am doing will work out just fine.

my fabric is bowed. I pulled a thread to get a straight line on the weft. at one end, the fabric is bowed in toward the fold line and at the other end it's bowed out at the fold line. is there a way to straighten that?

you can try stretching it on the bias and see if that helps but sometime it's hard to fix warped fabric.
