Let It Go
I asked the eagle in the tall, tall tree
From your vantage point what do you see
Do my worries look small to you
if they were yours, would you know what to d
Eagle, you’re alone and it matters not
No home, no possessions, what have you got?
The sky is yours,
why would you need more

Under the tree I saw the dragonfly
flit from sun to shadow, I asked her why
I’ve myriad commitments chasing me
she’s always managed to seem so carefree
no burdens carried on that dappled wing
nothing to take, nothing to bring
life is sublime,
you live in golden time
let it go life is so sublime, let it go this is golden time
the starfish on the rock awaiting tide
feels no impatience, she will just abide
knowing the ocean will provide her food
accept the bounty and with gratitude
resplendent in her purple symmetry
there’s no where else she’d rather be
nothing to save
she’ll ride the wave
let it go, nothing to save, let it go, let’s ride the wave
