Unless they changed this in the past few updates, the "day" number at the start of the game appears as "day 4" instead of "day 1" saying there may be some pre story before the cinematic
the developers said that they were thinking of making a space game , but other creators already have done alot of space games so they made subnautica! :D
I know this has nothing to do with it but, I think Ghost Leviathans are ancestors to The Gargantuan Levithans because they infinity grow so either they split off before they Gargantuan Levithans went extinct or they are the reason the Gargantuan Leviathans went extinct.
It would've been nice to have the crashed aurora or the outline of the crater be in the surface of the map as an easter egg of which a player can discover using the freecam. (if they look hard enough of course!)

I would also like to add that yes, this could be proof that life is outside the crater, but even better proof is when you are leaving the planet in the first game, because you can see some islands having green colour, that means that there is vegetation like on the small islands in the crater. And where is flora, there is fauna! Honestly the whole subnautica universe and its lore would be extremly boring if there would be just the crater and sector zero....

Hey so I didn’t used to work say at Unknown worlds but I did used help a concept artist with converting the images ( cuz yknow quality Can drop a lot) He told me in recent times that he was trying to get a skeleton ( or bones idk) that would be around the glacial basin, following it to the Frozen Creature, He says that he’s still trying, but it would be cool to see another giant bones in another one of these games :) (P.s I’m not confirming anything or say it will 100%, because it’s a concept)

The Ink demon Ok. Let me think... A really accurate island survival game? Let’s just say your ship sunk and all you have is clothes and nothing else and you are on an island, and you need to find resources. First thing to do would be pick up a rock and bang it against another rock to form a kinda handaxe stone tool used for multi purposes, and then you’d use that stone to dig very slightly into bigger rocks and find some flint. Once you got flint you’d pick sticks up from trees and vines and then tie them together to make flint tools, meaning: Flint Knife: Vine cutting flimsy weapon. Flint Axe: Bark pealing, stick chopping, tree chopping flimsy weapon. Flint Pickaxe: More of a hoe shaped pickaxe than the double-sided pickaxes they have in minecraft, used for mining rocks, flimsy, can be used as a weapon. After that you’d need to hunt some animals like fish or tarantulas to cook (tarantulas taste nice when you cook them), and if it was a fish or another animal, you could take their (slight gore warning) intestines, clean the fat out, cook them slightly, and use them as a stronger form of rope (this is actually a stronger form of rope in real life, take note in case you get stuck on an island). This would allow you to upgrade your flint tools and make them less flimsy, and you could also make a new tool, the flint spear, using it. Also, if you want the game to be an original game, try and make the island uninhabited. Almost all the other island survival games have ancient tribes etc etc,. Ask me for a different/more ideas any time you want!
Oracle Turret • 10M years from now ok. Seems good. You can find some biomes with new enemies. There is one really strong enemy in each biome, defeat one to destroy the walls allowing you to reach new biomes and get new tools.

It's definitely possible that not every precursor was eligible to have their mind stored :) maybe it depended on rank?
