As an Indian I can confirm that even after knowing 5 languages all my parents care about is that 1 mark which I lost in sem exams.
I topped maths in my whole school which had 400 students in 10th (I scored 98 out of 100), but my mom was like were did you lose those 2 marks 😂😂
@Александар Миловић ohhhhhhhhhh

what
I speak English, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil
(Telugu/Kannada Mothertounge)
I’m from North East India. And I can fluently speak 3 languages. Hindi, English and Mizo (Regional Language of Mizoram; a state in India) it isn’t an uncommon thing to see people who know more than 2 languages in India. It’s really common lol.
Also, I learnt French for 3 years in middle school. But it needs a a little brushing up, nonetheless, Indians really know lots of languages 😂
Here in Philippines too. Majority of people know or speak 2-3 langauges. Sometimes going 4-5.
Indians don't know anything they just think they are everything 🤣🤣
80% of the world speaks 2 or more languages.
这个
Yeah I'm from also NE and I know a lot of languages(like kind of) but top 5 are Bengali, Hindi, English, KokBorok, Japanese 😅
Here in Malaysia, you need to learn at least 2 languages, because our country is multi-religious (eg Chinese and Indians) and our local language is Malay.
BTW there is no language called Indian it is HINDI 🤭

so yes the meme at 2:47 is accurate.
@Donquixote Doflamingo yeah that's true
@Donquixote Doflamingo i know awadhi and Sanskrit along with those two
@Donquixote Doflamingo Rajasthani and Bhojpuri are themselves different languages, but clubbed under Hindi to increase the Hindi speakers.
So, an English medium student from Rajasthan knows atleast 3 languages:- Rajasthani, Hindi and English.
And from East UP knows:- Bhojpuri, Hindi and English.
@Donquixote Doflamingo I m North Indian nd by default we know atleast 4 languages too, I know 6 language without learning them 😄😄, nd South Indians by default knows 5 languages just excluding Hindi and English, if that include well do maths 🙃.
@Donquixote Doflamingo As a North Indian, I can confirm that's actually true. For me, since I'm from Rajasthan, I should be able to speak Marwari but I can only understand it. There's a lot of other languages in the North too but they're not spoken that frequently and therefore not much people learn it. I can speak only Hindi and English, but I'm learning French and Korean. SIMPLY out of interest.
Me an Indian can speak only 3 languages instead of 5

as a student in the german part of switzerland I speak the local swiss german dialect, "normal" german, english, french and a little bit italian
It is so that we start to learn the "normal" german in kindergarten/first class of primary school and from then it's the only language used in school. In 3rd grade they begin with english (when the children are about 8 years old) and two years later we start to learn french. That means in conclusion, that everyone knows these languages, at least to a certain point.
As an American I can say I don’t tend to think of the Middle East as a part of Asia but I am offended that they think that I don’t think India is a part of Asia.

It's one of the rare true memes about Russia, this kind of blankets it quite common, but that does not mean it's everywhere.
For example, I am Russian and my blanket looks like a world map.
Yeah for some reason most of mine blankets look like that. I'm from Serbia
Meanwhile my blanket looks like a strange lava lamp
Mexico has those blankets, and when they’re wet are the heaviest thing EVER.
For me, it's total bullshit. I even didn't understand the meme. None of my friends, relatives, ex gfs has this kind of blanket.
We have those in Turkey, mostly in villages though. My grandma has those and it's heavy as hell, in winter it's keeps you really warm.

The meme about what's considered Asian is not entirely accurate, since RUssia to the west of Urals and to the north of Caucasus is still considred European continent. My only guess here is that the meme author just put entire countries because they didnt want to separate them into bits, but it still can throw people off with what is considered Asian.

In Europe, everyone should be able to speak at least three different languages after school education: your native language, English and one other one, which one depends on the offer the school can give. In germany, it's often French or Spanish
Same with us 🇫🇷🤝🇩🇪
In India, we also have to learn at least 3 languages: Our native state language, our national language (Hindi) and English.
Well I know 5 : Odia ( my state language), Hindi, English, Bengali( another neighbour state language), and Sanskrit ( our ancient language of India).🇮🇳
Kind of important what kind of school...
Lol this is true🇰🇵🤝🇰🇷
In the east german states there is also the option of learning Russian as a second foreign language.

In Spain (only in some states) you must speak 2 mandatory languages that could be Galician (galicia) basque (basque state) or catalan (catalonia, valencia or balearic islands) (+spanish)then you gotta learn english then you choose between french or german and in some cases you can learn either italian, arabic or japanese.

(2:50) Very common that 2 languages are taught at least in Europe (ignoring UK of course), but it isn't uncommon for a third language being taught too, but that one doesn't always get as much attention.
By ignoring UK, I mean that 2 languages are seriously taught and actually being in use (one being your native language). UK tends to still learn a second language, but it doesn't seem to be taken as serious and often not properly known by Brits.
Yeah because it's not really taken seriously.. I mean how many people you meet on the streets know and speak fluent English? Also a big difference is that these languages are taught in Europe but in India it's kind of natural to know.. and the thing is all these languages are Indian unlike the languages you learn in Europe which are from other countries like In Germany people know German which is their language and the other languages they know aren't German languages but foreign.. But in India all of those languages are Indian so it gets more attention for more diversity within the same country
