If my kids are going to listen to rap as I did as a youth, I am so happy it is about Native issues, history and pride. Keep the braids long!

There's more to it..Truces have long since been signed among Nations..Renegades do their own thang..My lifetime has been an ongoing search covering my long lifetime..Black is my partial identity..for conversation purposes..I am also Apache called Lil' Wolf born of my Grandfthers Spirit Blessing thru my mother..Ceremonial blessing in those Brutal times Deep South coastal area..many years ago in the time when Geronimo was banished to the south..Along with Cochise..from whence I come from..In 1969 Marine Corps boot camp I met my Brother..Arizona Apache.. all verified in Security files..Gerinimo cast many seeds to the Wind that they would survive..Cochise took another path and separated venturing South..where Spanish Land Grants still existed at those times..All Aficans did not come to this land on slave ships..I am 2 Blacks (African) and 1 Red..Of Apache..Cochise..arranged marriage to worthy recent arrived Africa woman..my Great Grandmother..raised Southern..solid roots..I am Black and I am Red. vital records and government files terrify Me and History that I carry dating back to the 1800's.. the world is a vast history and God is the Ruler..tribal bickering will never end..

Powerful piece. Nice work.Russell Means was a remarkable man. As a kid, I was taught to respect and love ALL cultures because there is something to learn from everyone. It would be nice if some people, primarily the government, practiced what they preached and honored the treaties. Both you and Frank Waln have provided food for thought. Keep preaching the message...

This song is AWESOME!!! Rappers now these days need to rap about real issues with meaning. Not garbage that talks about sex, drugs, and alcohol. Say something that is encouraging and positive. Get your minds out the gutter.

Ive spent a lot of time in super radical spaces over the past few years, learned my place as a white person but also realized that as a tribal member I have a duty to not let the culture and our stories die. On the reservation of my tribe everyone there is white or black, but they are thriving and strong still. The blood itself is thinning but Im doing my best to learn about my ancestors and coming to terms with the fact that Im a product of the boarding schools, genocide and rape.
It started with a Tribe Called Red clip I saw on Facebook a couple years ago, it left me in tears and I couldnt explain why. Listened to Prolific's Black Snake, then I found Nataanii Means, Red Eagle, Drezus, and Northern Cree. Right now I'm reading Where White Men Fear to Tread by the great Russell Means. The lyrics to songs by Nataani and Red Eagle strike a bit of a deeper chord now. Call me out if I sound like a shitty "Cherokee Princess" type. Its kind of a fucked up cognitive dissonance because I dont want to seem appropriative and Ive never experienced racism or lived on the res but my mom and grandmother have told me their stories about it. Anyway I feel a lot of intense shit when it comes to native music. It could be epigenetics or my grandmothers spirit but all I know is that I feel it down to my fucking bones.

I feel your words really deeply. I remember my Mom telling me many years ago while we were watching "The Last of the Mohicans" that she had met Russell many years ago, I always thought that was awesome...I didn't know too much about his major roles in AIM and just being a badass speaking the truth until recently and I too hope its not too late. I truly believe his spirit is among many that are growing increasingly anxious with the current state of affairs and are helping ignite the flames of millions all over. I pray the next steps through this mess come clearly and that there is still hope :(
