I love how you bring out the best parts of songs & highlight them bro! And to actually show how it's done is a great talent alone!
Especially since there's so many folks out there who have no idea. And sadly, there are folks out there claiming they can show you how to sing 'just like others' but, as I'm sure you know, they really don't. But if you can actually do that? I think that's great!.
BTW, what note would you say my last few words are reaching at the very end of this Chris Cornell cover of mine? Enjoy!

I uses to get almost pretty frequent voice cracks a few years ago, and it was harder for me to be heard in a louder environment, but ever since I've started practicing singing (when I've had free time), especially with learning to control when I switch vocal registers, has helped tremendously

I can't believe he's 74....and still performing and performing well. His shows are extremely high energy. A man half his age would have a very hard time putting on his performances because they go that hard. I can't believe he's lived this long, and is still doing Vegas shows every other night considering his many struggles with his health (Hep C/substance abuse disorder and the many relapses he's faced and come out the other side of). The WHOLE band has substance abuse disorders and is still doing all this. It's crazy. I suffered miserably from heroin abuse myself from 20-29 years old, and it gave me a heart murmur and damaged my health and energy and I didn't even catch any blood borne illnesses such as Hep C like Steven did, nor did I inject it, nor did I have the kind of money he had to spend on doing as much as he wanted and I wasn't also using cocaine and alcohol with the heroin either like he. Like the video said, I also think he might just be an alien!

The way I do it, to match pitch and tone, ya squeeze ya nads up into you and tighten your throat muscles in a falsetto ish way, and you’re gotta give great (not just good!) ab support to belt out the note
Maybe not the most technically best way to do it, you’ll notice your voice simply gives out if you’re doing it wrong. Doesn’t hurt me personally, but I can’t do any high notes for at least 10 minutes of rest MINIMUM (gigs and stuff). Like hitting a ceiling for vocal range, but you can overstrain yourself so as always stop if you feel any discomfort, rest, and if you feel up to it try again!

Once you get that try to push a lot of a high head voice through it. I was frustrated and did just that, my voice just kinda formed around it and ever since that I knew how it works. Forcing your voice to do something it doesn't want to is bad so don't overdo it. But sometimes it's necessary to get past a barrier. Hmu if I can help you with it in any way.

While technically it's true its a whistling tone, and an airy tone. If you try to mimic Steven's voice is a good way to loose your voice. Steven didn't make an effort to sound airy on top, that's the way his voice was. Whether it was picked up during his adolescence or borned with it, doesn't matter. It's not a technique you can "learn".
Number one rule of singing: If you are singing in an airy tone for a long period of time, you can lose your voice into it. Just like Mariah Carrey did.
Steven speaking voice is a dead giveaway, a proof of what Im saying. Listen to his speech, the same airy/crispy/rocky sound as his singing. It's not a "technique".

It’s funny because several of these crazy vocals are from later songs and yet people are always saying how anything they did after the 70’s was basically bubble gum sounding. But some of Stevens hardest vocals are from the 90’s, go figure lol. Every decade was a good Aerosmith decade!!

    • @Janellabelle

Yea, Crazy, where he hits the F6 whistle is from the 90s. Nine Lives is from the 90s (late 80s?). Reefer Headed Woman is 70s but even though it's an amazing vocal no one really knows that song besides good fans. Angel is from the 90s. Sweet Emotion Dream On and Walk This Way are early stuff and their greatest hits but they don't showcase the limits of his vocal talents as well as later stuff. Stevens singing has aged like wine. I think they like his look from the 70s...and confuse it with his vocal ability which he admits in his biography to being not confident in in the 70s and he says he changed the way his natural voice sounds on the Dream On studio recording. I won't even listen to it, it's an insult to his abilities. Lol The Live version from, what, 30 years or so later is sooo much better. The last part where he screams blows the 70s version away. I didn't even know he could do a whistle until this vid allll this time, and I've been listening since I was born 34 years ago and have seen them live. I just thought a few women could do whistles in rock and roll/popular music. Lol I stand corrected.

I disagree. His original recording of Dream On he recorded when he was 20ish, in the 70's, pales in comparison to the live recorded performance of it 30 years later. I won't even listen the it if they don't play the live version from when he's 50. He even admits to changing his voice when he recorded it originally, not confident in his abilities yet in the 70s and that it is and was an obvious mistake in hindsight. He wrote Crazy in the 90s. You know the song where he sings the F6 whistle. I sho like his LOOKS n the 70s tho 😍 and they had a few good ones in the 70s, lol, but his singing has aged like a fine wine. Reefer Headed Woman is 70s, Night In The Ruts, stuff tho and that is a great vocal...and lyrics. Nine Lives where he sounds like a cat is 90s or late 80s...their golden era for me is the 80s early 90s when they sobered up and stopped putting out mediocre albums that peaked at 74 on the billboard 100. But to be fair, it is notoriously difficult to make a blues album chart well for ANYONE and they did have a lot of more bluesy songs at first which I do love. I really love all of Aerosmith's stuff though, but I just think they've gotten far better with time, but I know what you mean about the cartoonist image though and I don't like it either. I like his androgenous, skinny, long haired looks and leopard print bodysuits of the 70s too. Lol

After todays announcement it's sad to think how frustrating it will be for him to never "go there" again. He was fortunate to have been able to do it this long. Heads up
to the metal vocalists out there. Putting that kind of pressure on the pipes may shorten the vocal career.

Dave mustaine pls. Since you do metallica ainger you gotta do megadeth singer. Dave mustaine got kick from metallica so he form a better band called megadeth. The thing is that Dave mustaine is a guitarist as well so it makes him a virtuoso. Is very weird that a guitarist gets kicked from a band and after makes a better band as a singer and guitarist at the same time.

    • @Zodasg
      @Zodasg 2 роки тому

Nah he shouldn’t, both bands are awesome but James’ voice is one of the most iconic and sought after voices in metal, while Dave’s voice is the biggest reason people shy away from Megadeth, it would do them 0 favours to have his voice analysed
