Thank You, so CPU burst is a state when the process is in execution by the CPU whereas I/O burst is when CPU is waiting for the I/O operation. A process is always between these alternate states. At the end there exists final CPU burst when the process is terminated.
When a process begins its execution, it has 2 states: CPU burst or I/O burst (waiting for I/O). The process alternates between these 2 states. In the end, the process completes its execution with a final CPU burst.
Hello sir . I have a question at 4:20 ms , about I/O burst , you say it's when the CPU is waiting for I/O for further execution , So when a CPU or when a Process waiting for I/O for further execution . . . With my Respect .
you did not explain what is Load store, Add store,Read from file,Store increment index,Write to file and one more thing for process1 after cpu burst comes I/o burst then during I/O burst CPU will switch to process2 or will be in process1?
Doesn't a process go back to the ready state after the waiting state? Why is it that a process will alternate between running state and waiting state? Won't this be problematic if there are other processes in the ready queue and the CPU has to wait for a single process to finish it's I/O operations?
That's why when a process is moved form the CPU to Waiting Queue, the CPU starts execution of other process. When the process comes back to the Ready Queue it has to wait until the other process is executing. So that time is not wasted and the productivity increases..!

Can't thank you guys enough for these videos
thanks a lot...these videos are real game changers in exams
When a process begins its execution, it has 2 states: CPU burst or I/O burst (waiting for I/O).
The process alternates between these 2 states.
In the end, the process completes its execution with a final CPU burst.
All concepts are clear like crystal
Thanks for providing us with knowledge
Thank you, helped me a lot!
Your video are very helpful. Please try to upload more videos soon. Your hardwork is Appreciated :)
thank you very much sir for this video
8:02 yes, crystal clear!! ❤❤
Bestever lecture series On operating system just love it...
Thank you so much...😊💯
I fully understand this concept....🙏

i suppose its the process
Thank you sir for these awesome tutorials. could you please share the lecture slides.
amazing work.Thank u
Thanks very helpful
So nicely explain
Thank you

These instructions are performed by a processor and these are not covered in os syallabus.
Read the concept of computer architecture.

thank you so much
How do you calculate waiting time and turnaround time of processes with a cpu and I/O burst sequence
Doubt: In I/O wait ,the process has to wait or the CPU? It's getting real confusion..
The process is being done but cpu has to wait until I/0 operation is being done ✅ I hope you are clear now.
Crystal clear
Thankyou sir
THANKS
Why the process execution starts with the CPU burst and what if it starts with the I/o burst?
Thanks
What kind of I/o operations will take place please tell sir
