This season also reminds me of some similarities to Batman. Tony was to Jack Bauer like Jason Todd was to Batman. Tony gets "killed", comes back looking for revenge while playing an antihero character. Jack Bauer gets infected with a form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease just like Batman did in Arkham Knight.
I agree. But Jack sort of lost it by then. Surely he would never be re-instated as an agent after that behavior. He would have made a great surgeon in another life.

1: Jack's arc in season 8 is what Tony's arc in this season should have been instead of the mess we received. 2: That ridiculous twist at the end that Wilson was the real mastermind of Season 5 and the whole "Michelle was pregnant" bull to try and justify Tony's turn even though that just makes it even dumber coming from his whole "I can't kill Henderson because I still have a conscience" scene... absolute lowest point of the series, no contest. Now this is the result you get when you try take someone's shitty fanfiction and try to pass it off as an actual episode of your series.

He had Ike Dubaku sliced open just to get a chip out of him. Even as the guy was near dying. Agent Walker was a Sissy during this period. A cry baby FBI agent.

After season 6 and after Los Angeles, this show took a unique turn with brand new cities and brand new stories to tell.
