This might be a "grew up in the US" thing, but I have ALL the Anne books and read them all MANY times 😂 The last one, Rilla of Ingleside, is almost like a full-circle moment because Rilla, as Anne's youngest daughter, is so much like Anne (but that one is a sad book, because the end of the story overlaps with WWI, so reality intrudes on the story of this family on little PEI)
Tried to read Anne of Green Gables as a kid and hated it. Went back to it around 35 and I was blown away. The whole cycle felt like it was way too short. I just love how the author mastered writting about everyday life - the normal and plain feels like something extraordinary. Miss that in contemporary literature.
Thank you for your beautifully inspiring reading journal spreads! I listened to the audiobook of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley in honor of the "Spooky" month October theme and it was so wonderful! It was a difficult read as the old English was beyond my realm of understanding at times but it was a joy to listen to. It was tragic and heartfelt it a way I never expected. I enjoy the occasional "ghost story" but I am not a horror fan. Thanks again! Love your work :)
I love Anne of Green Gables. I think it makes me nostalgic for childhood and how much wonder the world could hold when you're still a new person learning and growing up. I really want to read pachinko and journey to the center of the earth now
Your spreads are lovely and balanced visually. Anne of Green Gables was published as a children's book and is one of the favorite YA novels. It's in the public domain so has been published and adapted widely. Your guote is missing an "a" before laugh. "Life is worth living as long as there's a laugh in it."
I am from Canada and the Anna of Green Gables. Was and still is part of the school curriculum. And it is based off of a true story. It’s one of the books that we had to read as a young student.
So I'm an East Coast Canadian and while I can't speak for central or western Canada, The East Coast LOVES Anne. I grew up with the live action tv series, the books, the animated cartoons, etc. I'm happy you at least gave Anne a try~
One of my favourite things about reading is that we all have our own likes and favourites. I like the Anne of Greenn Gables story to watch but I have no desire to read them at all. Lovely spreads as usual :)
I read Anne of Green Gables and Journey to the Center of the Earth both this year. It's so fun to see you do a spread for something I've read recently. I'm an avid reader of classic literature. Frankenstein and Dracula are my go to horror reads in October. It's funny how few people know them only from movies and don't realize how very different the books are! Thanks for another great video. Enjoy the rest of your time in SLC.
Oh what a coincidence that we’ve been reading the same books, that’s fun🥰 I love Bram Stoker’s Dracula, but I have yet to read Frankenstein. I might have to add it to my October reads!
I've read Anne like 1000000 times, i learned reading with this book, my book is literally falling apart because i got it from my mum who read it as a child, this book means sooo much to me i can't describe it
L.M.Montgomery is my favorite author, I mostly read to relax so her books are very cozy and comforting to me. The spread you made for Anne is very lovely!
The Pachinko discussion makes me think about my parents, who are Japanese immigrants and how I've seen them both unlearn the Japanese propaganda they grew up with regarding both Korea and China. And while the xenophobia in China is lingering a bit more (mostly bc of anti-Chinese sentiment in the US) it's been really good to see them understand that the Japan that they were taught in school as children wasn't as flawless as they were led to believe. Tbh there's still a lot of unlearning to be done with them (and myself who grew up with that kind of influence) but seeing them understand that they're being xenophobic towards a country is good to see.
I remember loving Anne of Green Gables when I was growing up. I revisited it as an adult in audiobook form, and it didn’t stray too far from my childhood memories. I also remember watching the movie on PBS in the US as a young kid and just loving Anne.
I have no interest in the first series but as a Norwegian I find it so funny when you didn't spoil it in the voiceover but then wrote down spoilers in your spread 😂😂
Hahaha well I can’t really avoid spoilers in the spread, it’s for my own use after all😂 And to be fair, my Norwegian audience is tiny, so I figure it’s pretty safe for most people haha😆
Ooooh I loved the feminist themes in Oremere Chronicles. Helen Scheuerer’s newer series - Curse of the Cyren Queen series is v binge worthy! Thanks for the spread inspo 😍😍 X
ooh, the Washi Tape Shop ladies tape! 🥰 That's on my list for my next WTS order. Your themes fit so well! Especially the Cottage Friends for Anne of Green Gables ❤
I love how spread looks so different from one another!!! The execution of the themes you pick is impeccable!!! I loved the black and white one, and the October cover page!! Also, I read Journey to the center of the Earth a lot of years ago, maybe as a teenager... I don't remember anything about it though 🤣 That's why I've consider making a reading journal, because I've read so many books that I sometimes forget about them 😅
I watch your videos and think your journals are awesome. I just realized that you are at MY favorite coffee shop. I had no idea you lived in my side of town. Cool!
if you could get a hand on i recommend the postman of Nagasaki its about a true historical story of what happened to a boy bombed with a newclear bomb during WW2 i didnt know about this book untill my grandma actually recommended to me recently and she said I as a genaration who dont know war should know what happened back then she as a savivor from the bomb is very much worried about what is going on to the world 😢
I absolutely love your spreads, and the October cover page is by far my favourite! I actually also read "Journey to the centre of the earth" in September, and I really enjoyed it. I read "20 000 leagues under the sea" first tho, and I actually thought it was better than "Journey to the centre of the earth", and I really think you should read it (it is also in the plus catalogue on Audible 😉) Love from a fellow Norwegian book and bujo fanatic🥰
these may be books you've already read before but if you haven't, I recommend The Summer Book by Tove Jansson and Fun Home by Alison Bechdel (edit: The Summer Book was originally written in Swedish if you can read that? Wikipedia says that most Norwegians can understand Swedish?)
beautiful video as always! i like to stay away from horror books so I'll be reading mistborn era 2 this month :) have you read brandon sanderson books yet?
Jeg skal selv læse “we have always lived in the castle” “no one gets out alive” Og “the last house on needless street”. Forhåbentlig også nogle hekse bøger, den ene jeg har læst indtil videre hedder “the witch’s daughter” den kan jeg godt anbefale 😍🎃👻

It's funny I'm canadain born and raised yet I have never read the Anne books lol

The reading journal videos are some of my favorites ☺️ I love watching all the spreads and how creative they are.
I’m so happy you enjoy my reading journal videos!❤️

That’s kind of what I imagined!😂 Anne seems to be very close to many people’s hearts❤️ I definitely understand why!
One of my favourite things about reading is that we all have our own likes and favourites. I like the Anne of Greenn Gables story to watch but I have no desire to read them at all.

20,000 leagues under the sea and The mysterious island are my all time favorites from Jules Verne (coming from a 🇫🇷 viewer) Thank you for this video!
Just watching this. I watched the films as a child. Just picked up the first book so will see what I make of it.
One of my all time favorite books is The Blue Castle by LM Montgomery - it is so so so good and of course I also love her Anne and Emily series books.
Pachinko was a wonderful book - totally agree! ❤ I also look forward to watching the series.

Beautiful spreads! Love the classic you read. Anna of Green Gables was a favorite of my childhood. Beautiful October cover page!

Yesssssss the book and the show was almost the same.
My name is Anne..
I fell in love with that book when I was a kid.
One of my first love in books
I'm so glad that I live in a world where there are October's
I love how you covered up the mistake

I read this book when I was in high school but I cant seem to remember how it end. Now I am thinking of making my own reading journal 😆
The October cover page I think is mine favourite too it looks so pretty 🤩🤩 and also the black and white book spread looked gorgeous ✨✨

You would have definitely loved it as a kid

Hello Hedda, I love Jules Verne books. I grew up with them. I'm so glad you enjoyed this book and I hope you'll read more.
Thank you so much for watching!❤️❤️ I will definitely read more Jules Verne!!

Oooh, Pachinko. Such a great book (live commenting, can you tell? LOLOL)
Can't wait to see what books you read in October!
Very cute designs!! Where did you get the circle stickers?
Thank you!❤️ They were all gifted to me in penpal letters, so I don’t know where they’re from😅
Beautiful as always!!! Where can I get the fox sticker? love that!
Thank you!🥰 Like I mentioned in the video, it’s from Paper Monogatari - there’s a link in the description box☺️
@@mochibujo Awesome! Thanks! I have those labels you are using and will send you some right away 🙂
Doesn't like Anne of Green Gables, likes A little Life. Who hurt you???
Fair point😂
