Eckart talks about this in one of his books...can’t remember which one, but for us who weren’t born with any talents or gifts (I’m also one of those people) he calls us “frequency holders”. frequency holders' - people who help the planet just by holding the frequencies that it needs at that time (this might be love, compassion, joy, aliveness, creativity - whatever). It made me feel like I had a little more purpose in life even if I was doing something that nobody knows about or appreciates...lol

What do you love to do? You can start there.
Also, I do believe that what you are feeling is part of the process. Your ego is dying. The one who needs to define themselves by what they offer the world. We are not our chosen careers or even these human bodies for that matter.
Trust that it will all be revealed. Another book that may help - Matt Kahn, the universe always has a plan. ❤️☮️🤗

There’s nothing wrong with just appreciating life. But for myself, I have found trying to help others gets me out of the stuck & lost feeling. One of my favorite quotes: This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.-George Bernard Shaw. Find a cause you’re passionate about, then plug into that to transcend your isolation & find meaning in a greater purpose.. Even small, imperfect efforts to do so can pay off big.

As you practice presence whenever that thought or self talk arises in your mind try to talk to your mind, is that even neccessary to think that right now or just be simply present. Tell to your mind there's nothing wrong in simply being present at this moment. Whenerver you feel like you have to think about something necessary you can let it pass as clouds pass through the sky. I've a question for Eckhart, or anyone that may have an answer. I'm very aware of the Now philosophy and it has helped tremendously. But as I've awakened slowly, I've become fascinated with history and how our ancestors lived. There's the old saying about those that do not study history and being bound to repeat it. So if I only focus on now, and that's all that really matters, am I wasting my time looking deeply into our past?

You mix up two things. When history is your true calling and you are dealing with it right now, and while at it you're in the flow and forget everything else instead of thinking about yesterday's news or tomorrow's appointments you are still in the now. Being in the now does not mean ignoring history. Historical time and perceived time are two different things. Historical time is a tool created by the mind and allows us to learn from the past. Perceived time is always now. You can think about yesterday but you can't be yesterday. So be in the now while studying history but don't dwell on the past while doing something else than studying history.
