Thanks for uploading this again. I remember seeing this when it was on UA-cam for the 1st time, would have been around 2010 or so. Me and my mates had just smoked some really good weed 😂 and one of them put this on, I was pretty much catatonic watching Dave for the 1st time and have never forgotten it. Then it disappeared for some reason?? I spent years searching for it and didnt find it until I was watching Daves more recent videos, finding it again was absolute joy!!! The original was posted when drum videos were still finding there place on the internet, look at what is available now, back in ye old days stuff like this was pure gold and it still is!!
I've seen many great drummers in the Boston area...I've never seen anyone who can put that much skill, personality, and fun into what they do the way Dave does, and his groove is as smooth as his solo explosive. His level is All-Planet. I've seen this video hundreds of times, because it's so smile inducing to watch.
💪😎👍 This is *GOLD!* Thank you soooo much for bringing it back, brother! Wish there was video of Dave's sick solo when he was using the "tiny kit" with just a kick, a pic(colo snare), hi-hat and one cymbal! OMG - you'd need a two ton floor jack to pick your jaw back up! Memories of the good old days @ The Beachcomber in Quincy, MA twenty five years ago... 🥁 *Dave is The Man!*
Two Ton Shoe was one of my favorite local live bands to see in the Boston area when I was going to Berklee! I believe the second half of the video was filmed in the basement of the Middle East club some time in 1997-8. I was there with some friends and we definitely saw band members from Extreme in the audience. I remember running into Nuno Bettencourt in the crowd. The guy getting his face melted at the end was Mike Mangini LOL. He was drumming with Extreme at the time. Cheers!
Lucky!!! Im from NZ and we have to settle with youtube uploads 😂😂 here you are hanging out with these guys at the local 😅 I hope these guys do a reunion gig aswell! It would be awesome to see what they do now there older. Ive read an interview with Dave about this gig, "I had alot to prove back then" was what he said 😂 imagine what they would sound like now??! Daves playing is just mind blowing now
Mid 90's, I believe. This dude used to play some naughty shit on a cocktail kit at The Beachcomber on Wollaston Beach back in the day. Absolutely ridiculous drummer and musical mind. This Cat IS DANGEROUS!
Chris D'Elia killing it on drums. Seriously-INSANE funk chops - Came back to this video years later - Yes I've seen El Estipario, etc, etc. Nothing out-Funks DiCenso. This is madness!
Yes, very few drummers would pull this off. Both Estepario (& Mangini in the audience) can only dream of this extraordinary musical funkiness. Pure flow 👌🏻🤩
I wish I knew! I'm not 100% but I believe in the comments for this original vid someone said this was an unreleased song that they jammed on during live shows
I believe the name of the song is “Pill”
Hands down one of my all time favorite drum solos ever performed! Dave is a freak of nature on drums 🥁 ❤
